At the same time, Goldie's mother, Becky Markell, darts her eyes towards her daughter's back area, where the wings should be, as that had been the cause of her worry all through the traumatic journey down to Goldie's school.
She was unconsciously searching for any signs of wings, amid a friendly discussion with Goldie's school principal, Mrs Savannah Myles about the excellent qualities of Hugher High, and the benefits of such fun parades as the Club Day Parade to "young, developing children".
"Ahahah… yes, you are correct, Mrs Myles...", Mrs Becky Markell responds with a pretentious laugh, feigning interest in the discussion, whilst all of her attention is absorbed by the image of her reckless daughter performing on the court.
"Oh please, Dr Markell, you can just call me Savannah… like everybody else! Haha!
