Jono then positioned himself to stand near the wall while observing the surrounding students. A few minutes later, there was a student whose behavior was not like that of a freshman standing in a half-meter-high wooden box.
"New students, please gather over here!" that student shouted.
Then about fifty students moved toward the source of the sound, which was the student who had previously stood on the wooden box. Jono also walked towards the student who was standing in the wooden box.
"My name is Tuji, and I'm a third-year student in class [A]," he said loudly.
Tuji is a male student who has a rather stocky body and is about 173 cm tall. He has short black hair and sharp blue eyes.
"According to the data I received, there were fifty-three new students who signed up for this club," he said in a rather harsh tone.
"This year's first-year students will be guided by a professional fighting expert named Mr. Luga," said Tuji while directing his gaze towards the corner of the room, where stood a middle-aged man who folded his arms with a somewhat arrogant look.
"Mr. Luga has a power level at the peak of the second stage," Tuji said in a firm tone, like a warning to new students not to underestimate the instructors or coaches that the school has prepared.
"Under Mr. Luga, there will be three assistants who help him guide all of you, and the strength of the three assistants is on the second level," Tuji said while directing his gaze to the three people who were around Mr. Luga.
Two of Mr. Luga's three assistants are male; one is female. The three assistants were proud of Tuji's introduction.
"Before I explain the technicalities of this club, any questions?"
"Those who want to ask, please raise your hand," Tuji said in a firm tone.
A few moments later, several students raised their hands. Tuji then pointed to one of the students at the front who had raised his hand.
"We've heard that there is a ranking in each extracurricular club and the top twenty students in each club will have their own benefits; how does the club determine this ranking?" asked the student.
"In this club, to determine the ranking based on their respective strengths, there are fifty students who enter this club ranking, not just twenty, but the top twenty have more benefits," Tuji said firmly, "and the way to determine the level of strength in this club is by fighting against each other, so if any of you think he is capable of being in the rankings, please challenge the rank you want by sending a letter of challenge to the administration of this club," Tuji said with a slightly breathless breath due to too much talking.
"Another question?" He asked the new students again. Then he pointed to one of the students who had raised his hand.
"What are the benefits of being in this club rank?" asked the student who had raised her hand.
"The top fifty students in this extracurricular club will get several benefits."
"The first benefit is that you will receive financial assistance in different amounts depending on your rank," Tuji said while looking at the expressions of these first-year students; some were happy, and some were normal to hear this first benefit.
"The second benefit is that you will receive a magic weapon with a quality between the first stage and the fifth stage, depending on your rank." When they heard of this second benefit, almost all the first-year students' faces lit up.
"The third benefit is receiving a basic-grade magic stone! With a number ranging from one to ten, depending on the rank," the interested attitude of the students who had heard of the second benefit earlier was immediately covered with surprised faces and their enthusiasm for hearing this third benefit.
They even started whispering to the friend beside them, showing their interest. Tuji is satisfied with the expressions shown by these first-year students.
"And there are other benefits for those who are ranked in the top twenty; for more details, please read later on the club's website; please register your account at the club administration so that you can log into the website," Tuji said with rather breathlessly after talking almost nonstop.
"Okay, everyone, calm down!"
"Next, I'll talk about the technicalities of this club," Tuji said while taking a deep breath.
Then he began talking a lot more without stopping. Jono and most of the other new students didn't pay much attention to what Tuji said; they were still thinking about the benefits of getting into the top fifty in this extracurricular club.
After Tuji finished saying the important information he had to convey, he got down from the wooden box with a tired expression on his face.
"It turns out that giving information to new students is very tiring; no wonder no one wants to do this task," he thought to himself.
"D*mn!" he yelled in his head.
Since today was the first day for new students to join an extracurricular club, they were allowed to do anything at this time other than fight. There are many facilities and tools that can be used for training in this place.
"We can get magic weapons when we enter the top fifty, even if the status is only on loan," said one of the students in the place.
"It doesn't really matter; the most important thing is that we will receive magic energy stones every week if we maintain our rankings until Saturday."
"I saw on the website earlier that forty-first to fiftieth ranks get two magic stones," said the student excitedly. Jono also overheard a discussion about the specifics of the benefits obtained if he entered the top fifty.
"Cool!"
"I've never used a magic energy stone; it says to have more pure magic energy than beasts," another student exclaimed enthusiastically.
Jono has also just created an account in order to access the extracurricular website. He then reads the benefits obtained from this extracurricular club, which are described in detail.
The gains for the top twenty were even greater. Jono then read the benefits for the top ten, and it immediately surprised him after reading the information about the benefits obtained by the top ten.
"First rank gets ten basic-grade magic stones every week," Jono muttered excitedly at this benefit. "And many other benefits that are even more tempting," he said in his mind.
"Magic stone. It's a good item to increase strength," Jono murmured silently. Magic stones are stones that contain magic energy that humans can absorb to increase their strength.
Not only at this extracurricular club, but other extracurricular clubs also get benefits of the same kind. All of this year's new students who have received information about this benefit are very excited to improve their strengths and knowledge.
The mandatory attendance schedule for the unarmed martial arts extracurricular club is Tuesday and Thursday. As for the armed martial arts extracurricular club, scheduled for Wednesday and Friday.
This week, there will be no official training activities for extracurricular clubs. Starting next week, there will be structured training for each extracurricular club.
Currently, in this club room, many new students are starting to training on their own with the tools and facilities that have been prepared. Jono has also changed out of his school uniform in order to begin training on his own.
Jono trains in a place that has facilities for practicing boxing. He went to something like a punching bag, and he started using it for punching practice.
There are several tools for boxing training there; some are even shaped like human dolls. All types of boxing training equipment are in this place; in other parts, there are other types of training tools.
Some of the new students went to the section that Jono currently occupies; some went to the section to train agility; there were those who got to train speed; and there were other places to train, such as strength, endurance, and so on. They can use the extracurricular club room until five o'clock in the afternoon. However, because today was only meant for introductions, many students went out or went home after the introduction was over.
Jono only practiced for an hour. At three o'clock in the afternoon, he comes back to his apartment. He uses the bus to return to his apartment.
When he got off the bus at the public transit stop for the bus, Jono felt a sharp gaze that seemed to be looking at him, just like when he killed the first beast in his apartment.
"Huh?" Jono looked around, but there was nothing suspicious at all. He then continued walking to his apartment.
As usual, when Jono arrived at his apartment, he immediately rested and took a nap. Outside his apartment, two people were chatting while occasionally observing his apartment building.
"The environment here appears to be slightly crowded; we will take action if he is in a quiet location."
"Keep waiting."
"This brat seems to have a lot of valuable items," Anggin said to the friend beside him.
"The only chance is if he goes out at night," Angger said, surveying the situation.
