Chereads / Warlock of Death: My Hades System / Chapter 45 - Escaped and Hidden

Chapter 45 - Escaped and Hidden

"Shit…"

"The smokescreen was a beautiful play, so it would be foolish not to take advantage of it," Silas muttered, completely misunderstanding the use of it.

But that was better than them being suspicious as to what a living skeleton was doing lying in the middle of my living room.

"I-I'm so sorryyyyy… i-it's all my fault," Faye cried, each and every orifice of hers leaking some kind of liquid.

Gross…

We soon made our way to the Angel Tech guild, a top organization run by both Silas and Albus, but they weren't the creators of this organization.

The founder was an old man that I rarely spoke to since he was already on his deathbed by the time I knew of his existence.

And I would try and use [Necromancy] on such a powerful figure… if he hadn't already anticipated such a move and had himself cremated.

In fact, most people who die nowadays have themselves cremated in order to make sure they stay dead and not become the slave of some deranged asshole.

Skills and mana have changed the world in more ways than one, but would you call it better? Well… I can't really say.

"Sir, what's wrong?" An attendant with glasses quickly rushed over to Silas, of course revealing herself as his secretary.

"I'm going to my office. Make sure nobody disturbs me,"

"Yes sir… but what about the other two…."

"I will take them to my office. Make sure nobody disrupts as well," Albus smiled, and as the secretary quickly nodded, she opened the elevator door for us and stepped inside as well.

"It's a bit cramped, isn't it?" Faye awkwardly chuckled, crushed by not only Silas but also Albus, who was intentionally flaring his body out in order to get some payback against the woman.

"Can you shut up for a second?" I turned to Faye, and she quickly shut her lips tight.

DING DING DING DING

We soon arrived at the very top floor of the massive office building piercing the clouds, and what was cool about the very top floor where the offices of the higher tier workers worked was that it was just above the clouds.

It was as if the entire world had turned into a plane of white fluff that you could bounce on and almost eat like cotton candy.

"Now, I'll leave you to your business. If you ever need me for something, then please don't hesitate to call,"

We stepped out of the elevator and into the spacious office floor, waving a quick goodbye to the secretary as she went back down with the elevator.

"She was quite calm about everything…. How have I never seen her around here? Is she new or something?"

"No, you just never cared to pay attention," Silas sighed before splitting ways with us and storming into an office made almost entirely of glass.

But with one flick of a switch, the glass turned cloudy, making it impossible to tell what was happening on the other side of it.

"Okay, for now, we need to hide you, and then we'll figure shit out. Watchers wouldn't dare to come up here because they'd lose signal from their Masters due to our electromagnetic interference module,"

"That's cool, but what I need right now is a shower…." I muttered, rummaging my eyes through Albus' office, which was similar to Silas'.

They were almost made entirely of glass, but upon closer inspection, I noticed a staircase leading up to another floor.

"What's that for?" I asked, and Albus' smug face soon permeated through the room, grasping me by my hand and pulling me up the stairs.

He didn't even have to say anything as we both followed him into some kind of cozy abode with beanbags, a bed, a projector set, and a bathroom.

The bathroom was much more spacious and grand than I had anticipated, so as I entered it, I quickly pushed the two in my group out.

"I'm gonna take a shower,"

"*sigh*... Whatever you say, princess," Albus rolled his eyes before exiting and leading Faye back down to the first floor.

"So tired…"

When I came back down from my shower, towels wrapped around me, I walked up behind Albus, who was sitting at his desk, scrolling through a few pictures of notorious guild leaders.

Faye, who was slouched on the desk right next to him, staring at the same screen, looked up at me and immediately began to blush.

She tried to cover her surprised expression with her hand and wiped the blood slowly trickling from her nose.

"How the fuck are you not panicking?" Faye asked Albus, who was locked into his screen.

"Cause I'm not a child…." He rolled his eyes before glancing at me, gesturing for me to look at the screen.

"What is it?"

"Point out which ones might've sent Watchers after you 'cause there was a fuck ton there. You must be the most wanted woman on this continent,"

I took the mouse from him and scrolled up and down through the list of top-tier businessmen and adventurers… and I could only reply with three words.

"All of them,"

"Huh? You're kidding, right?" Albus sputtered, pointing at each and every single figure to make sure I got what I said right.

"This dude right here, I seduced and fucked his wife 'cause I was bored… ummmm… this dude, I had to earn his trust and tear down his company, but god damn, is he one hell of a sturdy man. Even after all I did, he still managed to pick most of it up and continue to build his influence… oh and this woman, I killed her husband. Just for a job though…."

"Geez… you goddamn idiot," Albus sighed, slumping down in his chair and twirling in it just for a few seconds before turning back towards Faye.

She was taking short glances at my chest, not even noticing that both Albus and I were watching her the entire time.

"Ahem,"

"S-Sorry!" Faye cried out, covering her eyes and panicked smile.

"Faye, are you sure you have a crush on her?" Albus asked, as serious and cool as a cucumber.
