It was finally happening, the day Nate was worried about. So far, food has never been a problem for him and his horde members but at this point, it was becoming one and Nate have to do something about it fast to prevent all his zombie hordes to start losing their intelligence and becoming wide.
For a long time now, they have gathered all the flesh of humans he or his horde members have killed, it would be stored in the mothership while giving them two or more steaks to store in their inventory. This has been how Nate run things, however, now that Mark has just announced that they are running out of food, this means that Nate either has to go out with some of his horde members to hunt humans or they should just wait till an unfortunate one comes their way.
Honestly, from what Nate has calculated before the amount of food in their possession should be enough to take them for another month or even more considering how they were consumed.
To Nate, their consumption of food wasn't high, at least that was what he thought. He totally forgot about the two hundred zombies that were now under him. Normally, Nate only needs to eat human flesh after a battle just like he did now, meanwhile, Peter and Lyon were not counted in among those that feed on human flesh, though, at times they can take it to preserve more flesh for the normal zombies that actually needs human flesh to survive.
Jim only takes the blood of any type of creature and also can eat normal foods like humans. Therefore, in total, only, Bull, Twain, Levi, Dike, Mark and Scarlett are the main people feeding on the human flesh the most.
Meanwhile, Mark could see how surprised Nate was and decided to explain further. "We now have hundreds of zombies within us and they need to be fed, unease you are not planning to feed them, then we can still manage the ones left," Mark said.
Upon hearing this it made more sense to Nate, however, he was still bothered. On a normal day, disposing of the weak zombies would have been an option, but at the thought of what will happen to the new sources of energy Mark was trying to build, he had a second thought. Even though the zombies were weak but all of them were already in their first evolution and are pushing for the second evolution. Even if they are not yet at the ideal level Nate needs but the zombies at least are after average human beings and can even take one down alone, they might even prove a threat to a superhuman if they are in numbers.
After thinking about this, Nate felt like it would be a waste if he just decided to get rid of the zombies. Nate was given some time to think about it. And after a long time of thinking about it, he called them all back.
"After thinking about it, the only option I was left with is to go hunting," Nate went straight to the point.
There was a minute of silence all around the sitting room as they were all trying to understand what Nate was up to this time.
"And where are we going to look for them, I'm sure it's not beast hunting you are talking about?" Mark asked. Of course, Nate was not talking about hunting beasts, instead, this time was humans they are planning to hunt after, but the problem is where are they going to start, it's not like they will go outside and see a human casually walking down the street, it was a total not.
If they want to hunt for food, then they should find a human base first and plan on how to invade the base.
"I know, we need to locate them first, anyway, that's not a problem, I already have one in mind," Nate said.
When he said this Lyon suddenly looked at him. 'Don't tell me it's about them,' Lyon thought silently to himself. In his mind, a picture of a certain group that invited them over to their base popped inside his mind.
Since Nate already said that he have one in mind, the others did not question him as they went off, Nate had sent them so that he can make up a plan. However, someone was unwilling to leave. As the other left, Lyon set back to his sit and looked at Nate with a questioning look.
"Trust me, if I have another way of sorting out the matter, I will not hesitate to do that," Nate eventually noticed that Lyon was still sitting back and started speaking. He already knew the reason Lyon was not going like the others.
"Actually, there is another way," he said.
Nate was not looking at Lyon since he was going through his system notifications, but at this moment he looked at Lyon. "And what is the way?" He asked.
"Dike is the why of course, though he has not been with me for long after you gave him his power, there is something else about his bubble, they can not only trap someone, but inside, they are focused on sleep and even this works on zombies, it's just that zombies have a higher resistance to it but it will eventually happen,"
Without Lyon even saying anything further, Nate was already understanding where Lyon was going with his and without any further ado, he called out for Dike to carry out the test.
Of course, this was done in the training room and everyone was present.
Three zombies were set and after Dike was transforming himself, he spites out the bubbles at the three zombies. After this, Nate used the total control skill on one of the zombies. His consciousness was transferred to one of the zombies inside the bubble. Soon after, some type of foggy smoke covered the entire space in the bubble.
[The host will be going into hibernation as long as he remains inside the bubble space]
Nate found it strange that he could still access the system from another body, however, he wasn't bothered much about it, instead, he was more focused on his body's reaction. It was strange, he could tell that he still has more stamina inside him, in fact, it was unlimited, but for some reason, he was getting tired as time passes inside the bubble and soon he fall unconscious.
After this was done, Nate was transferred back to his body automatically.
"We won't be going for the hunting," Nate declared, meanwhile, Lyon was happy to hear this and not just only him, the others seems to be happy too.
Seeing Nate could not help but muttered to himself, "Am I that heartless," regardless, he still decided to make himself clear. "That will be for now," the mood of the others seems to change slightly, but they were still happy that they won't be going hunting soon.
'Even as a zombie, they still think they are humans,' Nate thought, he know this was not their fault, they are high intelligence zombies and still have a human conscience.
With that aside, Nate faced his system once more time. 'Now what was this system notification saying about the storm?'
