QUINN'S POV:
I stared at the giant diamond ring my father just gave me. "Do I wear this?" I asked. He nodded.
"Yes Quinn. It's your engagement ring." He said and I frowned. Even though I was getting married in circumstances that I didn't want, I expected a little bit of normalcy.
"Why can't he give me the ring himself? This is so ridiculous." I complained as Dad sighed.
"You know that is close to impossible for him. He's a busy man." That was by far the most lamest excuse I've ever heard in my life and I've heard a lot seeing as I tend to make them.
"He's too busy to get on one knee and just hear a yes from me?" I asked and Dad frowned.
"You already agreed to this. Why are you making a fuss over the proposal method?" He asked and I crossed my arms looking at him defiantly.
"The least he could do is try to make me happy Dad. That's the least any of you could do." I said.
He let out a fustrated breath and pushed the ring closer to me.
"I'm trying Sunshine. I really am. You know how much this means to me." He said.
"I know that Dad. that's why I'm even going through with it." I muttered and he pulled me into a hug.
"Whatever happens, I won't hesitate to break it all off." He said and I smiled.
"Thanks Dad. I'd better go get ready for tonight." I said taking the ring with me.
He kissed my forehead before I left his office.
**********
"Ms. Andrews!"
I rolled my eyes at Nico. "Nico it's either you leave or I scream bloody murder." I threatened.
"I was asked to see if you need anything." He said and I let out a breath.
"I don't need anything or do you want to help me get into my dress as well?" I snapped with sarcasm lacing my tone.
He cleared his throat, straightening his tie.
"I'll take my leave. Mr Sterling will be waiting."
I turned around so fast, I felt dizzy.
Did he just say Sterling? What the hell is going on? He had already left my room so I resorted to screaming.
"NICO!!!"
I heard his running footsteps and my door was almost ripped off it's hinges.
"Are you alright?"
I Nodded. "Did you say Sterling?" I asked. Nico stared at me like I'd gone insane.
"You yelled my name to ask that?"
I stared waiting for an answer. He sighed.
"Yes, Ms Andrews. My Sterling is waiting to announce your engagement to one of his sons." He explained. Sons? I had already met Xavier but who was the other Son?
"Is there any chance you know which one of them I'm marrying?" I asked. He seemed shocked I didn't know who I was to be engaged to.
"Urm, Well it's Xavier Sterling. His elder son." He said and I felt my jaw drop.
No fucking way!
Why did it have to be him? Of all the people, it just had to be him.
"Thanks Nico. I'll just go get dressed. Bye." He said and I ran into my bathroom locking the door shut.
I paced around for a few seconds. The bathroom window was too small to squeezed my self out and even attempting that would result in probably a few broken bones as my room was on the upper floor.
I groaned.
I had terrible luck.
**********
The crowd clapped as the spotlight shone down on me. I gave a fake smile, I practiced tirelessly as my hands smoothened the fabric of my dress.
I had to admit that Xavier had good taste seeing as he picked out this dress.
It was a silver floor length gown with short strap sleeves and a flat neckline. I was tempted to believe he had more motives towards the neckline than anything else.
I had let my hair down and Rissa had helped do my makeup designing my face with rhinestones to highlight my dress.
Xavier made his way towards me with a smirk and I was holding back from slapping his handsome face. This was the stupid bastard that sent his men after Faith.
I let him wrap a hand around my waist and pull me closer. I had realized fast that whatever I do, where I go, Whom I see or meet, the world would know because I'm Xavier Sterling's fiance and soon to be wife.
This wasn't how I pictured myself being famous.
A lot of people came up to congratulate us and I forgot each person's name as soon as they turned away.
"You look amazing." Xavier whispered in my ear. I turned to him and faked a smile at the flash of a camera. "You're an asshole." I whispered back and he laughed.
"I've been called worst sweetheart." He said and I smirked. "Don't call me sweetheart, I'm going to make your life miserable." I hissed and he laughed again.
"Have I told you how adorable you are? You're mine now Quinn. Face it. And drop whatever attitude you have. it will get you no where." He warned but a smile was still on his lips.
I blinked. Hard pill to swallow.
"Mr Sterling!"
We both turned around to face Rissa. "Ms Throne. A pleasure to see you here. Thank you for coming." He said sticking out a hand to her. She took it but barely held it for a second.
"Drop the charade. Listen, Quinn is my sister. Hurt her and I'll come for you. Said it before, saying it again." She said calmly as I smiled proudly.
This was certainly one of the many things I could count on Rissa for. Except for her ignorance though.
"Happy married life. You'll need it." Xavier stared confused as she walked away. I snickered.
A game of Charades. Let the best player win.
