Chapter 14 - Chapter 13 - Cultivating Anew

Xiao LingYue had decided he would steal Wan Tao's identity so he could leave the mines.

He aimed to join the Cult before finding a way to escape but to do that he first needed to be free from the [Qi Limiting Shackles].

To do this he would have to be in at least the sixth realm of The Body Tempering Stage, the Viscera Refinement Realm.

He was currently in the fifth realm and the corpses of the two youngsters were all drained of Blood Qi.

He felt quite at a loss due to losing two prime cultivation resources but he didn't dwell on it due to having some low-quality BloodFiend Pills as well as the other cultivation resources which fell from the pouch of Liang Qingling.

Though her pouch didn't have any BloodFiend Pills, she did have an alternative which was the vials of blood taken from Vicious beasts.

Vicious Beasts were animals who were exposed to varying types of Qi, which provoked a mutation of their species.

They were normally larger, stronger and also more violent; it's been said some even had special traits like the ability to control fire and lightning!

He remembered the book [Cultivation Knowledge and Experiences] he read which notes the different types of beast blood as well as their functions, benefits and shortcomings.

On average beasts' blood was far more potent than BloodFiend Pills, but not everyone could either acquire or afford them. A certain level of strength or capital was required to even see these types of resources.

LingYue clicked his tongue in amazement at the sheer number of vials this young miss had, it was practically a small fortune!

His eyes swept the 30 beast blood vials which were labelled by their name and the beast's strength.

The most notable shortcomings of beast blood are that they were filled with a manic aura which can cause humans to lose their minds, suffer cultivation deviation and most simply is to have a heavy murderous aura from the resentment of beasts.

LingYue laid the blood out neatly behind the few vials of BloodFiend Pills as he calmed his mind to begin his cultivation.

He planned to cultivate to the 6th realm of The Body Tempering Stage using his current method before recultivating this stage from the First Realm, using the Moon Lotus Mantra.

Due to the [Qi Limiting Shackles ] the problem of haphazardly cultivating as well as the conflict with him forcibly taking Blood Qi into his body would have left him with a horrible foundation as well as hidden injuries.

To smoothen his path he would have to start over from the beginning.

Thankfully he could do this because he had no systemic Qi Breathing Technique; it was like he had forcibly taken the Blood Qi into his body before shoving it into his flesh and bones.

His body had many inconsistencies and many small areas still weren't tempered. To make his foundation even stronger, he would continue to the 6th layer before tempering his body anew systemically.

LingYue stood as he grasped a BloodFiend Pill before placing it in his mouth, as he closed his eyes and waited for it to begin, the pill slowly melted as it slid down his throat, dispersing into a mild Blood Qi as it entered into his flesh.

His eyes opened as they flashed with a trace of disappointment since the Blood Qi given by the pill was only a meagre amount. His hand grasped the bottle as he swallowed 3 more from the vial leaving 5 more inside.

The Blood Qi that entered him changed from a small stream to a river, thrashing as it went, LingYue quickly got into position as he continued his [Agile Crane's Body Tempering Art].

After around 15 sets, the Blood Qi finally began targeting his organs but the Blood Qi started to wane, in which he swallowed the other 5!

The waning Blood Qi roared as if given new life as it began tempering his internal organs, the slowly became stronger and stronger as the Blood Qi lessened until there was nothing more the Blood Qi could temper.

The [Qi Limiting Shackles] fell to the floor as he rubbed his wrist, his eyes narrowing as he tore the cuff from around his neck.

*Chink!*

A relaxed feeling washed over him as he stretched his body. His body cracked and popped as he got used to this newfound lightness that was missing for over 10 years as he went and reread the Moon Lotus Mantra once more before sitting in a lotus position.

The Moon Lotus Mantra detailed the main function of using the special Yin Qi from the Moon to temper one's body giving it an ethereal aura but it could also use Blood Qi as a substitute for Yin Qi but there would be a dark and wicked aura surrounding you.

LingYue cared little for the aura he had and how he was perceived, he was a fae, to begin with, and he would never be able to see eye to eye with these humans.

He breathed to the rhythm noted in the Moon Lotus Mantra as he began to chant the heart Mantra recorded, within an incense worth of time a brand was made between his brows, a red lotus imprinted itself as it made him possess a devilish aura about him.

This was the brand to show its introduction to the Mantra, those who used the Moon's Ethereal Yin Qi would have been branded a white moon between their brows while those who used Blood Qi would be branded a red lotus.

The brands' functions were quite similar as they were able to absorb the required ownerless Qi from the surrounding areas.

He slowly opened his eyes as he read further, committing the profundity of the mantra's Body Tempering Stage to heart and upon closing the book, he took a vial of low-tier first-layer beast blood which was around the level of a first-stage Body Tempering Stage cultivator and drank it.

The red lotus branding between his brows began to glow an eerie red glow as the Blood Qi raged within him, the eerie glow slowly spread across his body until it completely covered him.

The Blood Qi was like a mouse meeting a cat, being quickly subdued by the red glow as some of the Blood Qi was diverted to his body once again as it began to heal itself, while the rest of the Qi was converted into a stronger form of Blood Qi.

The Qi of the Red Lotus.
