Chapter 10 - Chapter 9 - No Eternal Friends, Only Eternal Benefits

LingYue's current routine was quite set for the past few days since the fight with Kong Xiaobo.

After learning the [ Agile Crane's Body Tempering Art] he aimed to catch live snakes from within the mine.

Upon eating them he realized he would be inundated by waves of pain as he assimilated the red mist after his meal, and then he would go on to practice his body-tempering art.

Once the mist had vanished, he would then go on to practice the first 3 moves of the [Feral Crane's Agile Claw] martial movement.

He had done these for the past week as he noticed his skin was quite durable but yet still supple, his skin wasn't able to be injured as easily anymore and as he continued his regiment his muscles were now the target of the mist.

His biggest issue was that the snakes he found were dwindling due to eating one or two each day as a cultivation resource for the past week.

He may have to leave this area to find another hidden cache of his elsewhere to find more prey. He was quite confident as he was able to train the first 3 movements to have some proficiency in them.

Though he only used them when catching the various snakes for meals, he still wanted to be cautious due to not having any battle experience using them against humans.

Humans were more wicked, conniving and intelligent than snakes, so to err on the side of cautiousness should prove beneficial to him.

As he gathered his things in a small bag made of torn cloth, he made his way out of the small area and grasped some new and improved Jadeite Thorns he had mined recently.

The Jadeite Thorns were left soaking in the poisonous sludge for around 2 days, to the point even he had to handle them carefully. They changed from their jade green colour to a murky grey as they radiated a slightly sour stench.

As he placed them in a carrying cloth tied around his waist he stuck to the shadows as he made his way forward.

He travelled through the tunnels as he searched for anyone that may pass until he heard a voice.

"Huh? Get out the way slave!" An aggressive voice sounded from behind.

LingYue shocked, spun around as he retreated to see a familiar face as well as another two who were unknown.

Fang Buhei was the one who had spoken as he stood next to two outer sect disciples, Wan Tao and Liang Qingling.

This male and female duo were recent additions to the Blood Gate Cult and Fang Buhei was currently showing them around the mines while basking in the fact they had to call him senior brother.

Fang Buhei had just turned the corner with the two as they stumbled into LingYue. Fang Buhei looked at LingYue with his one good eye, his next covered in a decorated black patch, giving a stern and menacing look towards him.

He looked towards LingYue, his eye slowly narrowing while saying, " You look familiar, who are you?"

LingYue knew he meant that he looked similar to the one Fang Buhei knew as Yi Yun.

"My name is Xiao LingYue," he calmly stated.

Fang Buhei continued to glare at LingYue, his eye roaming over him as he suddenly rushed forward his hand outstretched!

"Better to kill the innocent, than to let a sinner go by mistake!" He shouted.

The two new disciples were taken aback as their eyes opened wide in confusion, 'why would their senior disciple suddenly attack a lowly slave?' was what was going through both of their minds.

"If you want someone to blame, blame that damned Yi Yun in your next life!!" He bellowed as his hand changed to a palm strike!

[ Ghost Palm's First Movement: Savage Spectre Palm!]

As his palm slammed down suddenly, LingYue responded on reflex!

[Feral Crane's Agile Claw First Movement: Wind Catching Wing!]

Their palms slammed together, and the wind within the tunnel blasted outwards as both of them retreated 3 steps back.

Their clothes rustled in the aftermath of the wind, and the two new disciples' clothes fluttered as they shielded their faces from the dust and rocks that were sent flying.

Though LingYue was defending and his opponent had a higher strength than him, his mastery over his martial movement was higher than Fang Buhei allowing him to redirect the force into the ground beneath him with minimized effort.

Fang Buhei as well as the two new disciples were in shock, their senior disciple was a 3rd Realm Body Tempering Stage Cultivator, how could a slave fight against him?

Fang Buhei's face was filled with a deep scowl as he said, "That's Kong Xiaobo's martial movement, you're that bastard Yi Yun."

He looked to his junior disciples, seeing the shock on their faces as well before he looked back at LingYue.

He couldn't let them be doubtful of him, these two especially came from decent families that had connections with the sect.

These two were the golden ticket he needed, they could allow him to climb to a higher position even if he couldn't progress as fast as others.

Fang Buhei readied himself as he stated, " I heard you were able to kill Kong Xiaobo by sacrificing your left arm in a suicidal attempt."

"Huh?? How is it that your hand is completely fine now?!" Shock laced his voice as he noticed LingYue's arm was completely fine.

He had lost his eye to this bastard, if he could find a way to steal whatever treasure helped him heal his hand, or get him made into a human pill by the Cult, he may be able to get his left eye back. . .maybe he could even increase his strength!

As this thought arose within him, it was like a maggot on a bone, drilling deeper as the thought provoked his evil heart. . .

He thought to himself, " This may be my lucky break, this might be the turning point I was waiting for!"

A wicked sneer soon reached his lips as his mind raced, countless thoughts hurtling through his mind when he suddenly spun and landed two attacks on the chests of his junior disciples!!

[ Ghost Palm's Third Movement: Heart Shattering Palm!!]

To make sure the two were completely dead, he had even used his trump card of the [Ghost Palm] that he never showed to anyone.

His claw-like fingers staked deep into the chest of his two new junior disciples as he used his blood qi to thrust the force into their hearts.

Mangled and torn asunder, the two junior disciples looked down at the hand perforating their chests, Wan Tao could only look up and ask, "Why?" before the blood came poured out of his chest, eyes, nose, ears and mouth.

Liang Qingling fared no better as tears filled her eyes as they mixed with the blood which began to pour out of her, leaving her new pristine dress looking bloodied and tragic.

Taken by surprise, they had never thought that their senior brother would dare to launch attacks on them.

They had just gotten to the sect, they hadn't even had time to report in as yet before they were carted off by this senior.

Dying full of grievances, they both cursed his nine generations in their minds as they coughed blood and fell limply to the floor. . .
