A binding oath is similar to the blood-contract in his novel [Abyss] which makes the two party that signed it have to risk their lives
The moment one of the party decided to break the promise or condition they will instantly die as their body shatters
The only difference is that binding oath does not require blood or life but instead the soul
If one breaks the oath their soul will forever be trapped in an never-ending regression, an immortality but they will be powerless and forever dies over and over without being able to do anything
It's like a clock where one has to repeat everything over and over...an endless torture for the soul as it cannot get reincarnated or free
Of course, both Eru and the man knows the consequences in this as only the desperate does this
God or not one cannot escape this punishment
That's why Eru wanted this, high risk high reward, afterall he wanted to die peacefully and so having his soul binded into an endless regression is hell
Truth was one of the protagonists in the novel has already experienced this and so is on an endless regression where he cannot escape
Well, that was what it said, but there might be a way
Since the novel was unfinished Eru hasn't yet decided on how to break free his soul from the regressions
Since saving him is also a requirement this will be challenging for Eru
Once Eru fails in this task, he will immediately get binded
But once the man doesn't keep his promise, the same will happen to him
That's why-
"Sign a binding oath with me"
The man stood there silently for some time before asking [(Desperate or you don't trust my words?)]
"Latter" Eru replied nonchalantly
[(Alright, let's do so if that's what you want)]
The man raised his fingers and flicked it
Bzztt
A blue screen appeared before Eru
[(There, read it and add the conditions you want)]
Eru didn't say anything and read the contents of the blue screen
[Contractor Eru shall save and help the protagonists of the novel [Abyss] he created to complete the game and in exchange 'I' will grant any of your wish.
Whoever shall fail in the oath one must befall into an endless regression with it's soul binded with chains.]
As Eru read this, he thought 'It's the same as the one I created'
[(So then, do you have any condition?)]
Eru contemplated for a while before he opened his mouth and said "I do, allow me to bring my phone and all the information it has including the novel I created"
[(...)]
It wasn't visible because of the mask, but the man was squinting his eyes before he said [(Sure, is that all?)]
"No, I have one last thing to add"
[(What?)]
"Since all the characters in the novel has their own profile, ability, and system, then I want to create my own"
[(...)]
"If it sounds sketchy you don't have to worry as I wouldn't pick an ability that would allow me to conquer everyone with just a snap of my finger"
Seeing that the man isn't answering, Eru said "You could probably make it possible for me to create my own character right?"
[(That's right, but before it could be placed in your character it will need to go through me first)]
Eru nodded.
[(Alright if there's nothing else, will you accept this task?)]
Bzzzt
The blue screen once again appeared before Eru
[Contractor Eru shall save and help the protagonists of the novel [Abyss] he created to complete the game and in exchange 'I' will grant any of your wish.
Whoever shall fail in the oath one must befall into an endless regression with it's soul binded with chains.
Conditions;
> Contractor Eru us allowed to create his own character
> Contractor Eru is allowed to use his phone in the game.]
- Ding!
[The oath is now complete]
[Would you like to accept the oath?
Eru looked at it and thought '...Let's do it'
Raising his slender fingers, he pressed on the screen and said "I accept the oath"
***
After that Eru woke up to find himself in this place
As he looked around, the place was exactly like the description he had in the novel
A heavy snow storm outside, cold temperature about 20°F below, broken lights, no wood, no fire, no food, and finally, a huge broken and abandoned mansion
The first thing he did after transmigration was checking his pockets if the phone is still their
Eru then pulled out his phone from his pocket then after so he opened and check the [Abyss] novel he saved
After scrolling through a long list of files he was finally able to find the novel
'It's still here huh?'
Just then, a call with the name unknown appeared and replaced the novel
He answered it and said in a low voice "Is it ready?"
- It is!
"..." Eru remembered this voice, it was the first person that called him saying that the smiling mask person wanted to talk with him
Eru first thought both are the same person but pretending
But after his conversation with the smiling mask person he confirmed it isn't
'Could this kid- I'm not even sure if this one is kid to be honest...maybe he's just a lackey of that guy'
"Alright, send it to me now and make sure to cover the sight of the constellations watching this channel"
- Understood sir! I'll send it right away you can leave it to me!
Beep!
The other hang up on the phone.
"..." Why do I feel a sense of deja vu and uncertainty with this guy?
Just then he heard a sound rang in his head
[The sight is now blocked and no one can notice or hear you]
[You can now analyze the list of systems that are available]
A much more thinner narrow blue screen appeared with a single word [System]
He scrolled the screen to the right side as he memorise the names of the systems available
[System056, System108, System966, System879, System344, System577,...-]
All of these are the systems that wasn't used in the novel by any of the characters no matter what their role is
In the novel, each players are designated with their very own personal system after finishing their first game
Of course Eru was an exception at this point as he has a different task than them
Eru just needed a system as a decoy and to also help him about information that wasn't written on the novel just in case.
'I just need a system that is easy to manipulate but useful'
After some time, his fingers stopped at a certain system and he thought 'This should be good'
In the novel there was one system he recalled that was mentioned in the first chapter
That system wasn't picked because he assembled it as a newbie system which has only some informations
But that system was later also mentioned in around chapter 68 above where the system of one of the protagonists asked about some information about one of the SSS level game and was actually able to provide a very helpful information
The only problem is because it is obedient...too obedient actually, it was then later punished for helping another system's host
Eru designed it like that as he need a reason for a sudden emergency in the system bureau that will cause the protagonists to meet up each other
Eru thought it was cruel but never felt guilty about it
After all, this novel does has a Tragedy genre which not only the players has one but also the system and constellations that are watching them like some kind of entertainment
Now because of this, Eru found that the newbie system would be the perfect fit for him
Naive and obedient but also useful
The very simplest to manipulate, the only thing he needs is to change that system's kindness and make him loyal to him
Well, he doesn't particularly needed to make the system obedient, he just needs it to be smart and don't follow anyone else other than him after he becomes the host
Afterall, that's the system job, to only follow their host, but the moment the system bureau orders something, the system shall follow them over their host
Eru thought 'I'll choose it'
[System999]
"I choose System999 to be my personal system"
[Alright, you can now create your own character as I try to get System999]
The blue screen disappeared and was replaced by a yellow screen containing name, age, ability, and etc.
As the voice in his head disappeared, Eru thought 'I wonder how they would be able to get system999 without me even finishing yet my first game...'
Eru shrugged his shoulders as he thought that he wouldn't get the answer unless he personally asks how
'Let's start with my character now'

[Player Eru has entered the game]
