WIZARDING WORLD AND IT'S WONDERS

chapter 3: Reincarnation is the best

Shouldn't have eaten lunch.

After calming himself and making sure to not make a mess everywhere He looked up.

He stood in the streets of London, across The Leaky cauldron.

"Leaky cauldron, the passageway to Diagon alley, come Mr. Lewis let me show you the world of wizards and witches " McGonagall said as she started walking towards the old building of leaky cauldron.

Entering it Arthur came face to face with dorzens of weird clothed people, talking to themselves, cups and plates floating nearby.

Some people greeted McGonagall and she replied back but continued walking.

Arriving at the back she stopped before the wall that he knew on the other side of which lies a whole different world.

"please pay close attention Mr. Lewis, how to enter diagon alley, next year you would be on your own" saying that she the tapped her wand on some bricks in a patter and the wall started parting to reveal a bustling street filled with people, magical people.

"so Mr. Lewis, Do you have the list of what you would need?" She asked, looking at me.

Nodding at her Arthur held out the letter from Hogwarts he received, at the back of which was the list.

Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions.

"you go ahead Mr. Lewis, i shall go and collect your other supplies" saying that she left.

*ding* A bell chimmed as he entered the shop, A witch sat at the counter, "Hogwarts , dear?" she asked.

"yes, first year"

"Alright, get on there, i'll fit you right up"

She pointed at a wooder stool, standing on it he waited as she came round with a measuring tape and lage robes.

She got to work pinning the robes the right size.

By the time she was finished, Professor McGonagall was already standing outside waiting with a trunk.

"what now professor" Asked Arthur as he saw the one shop every Harry Potter reader knows, Ollivanders.

"now, Mr. lewis, To make you a real wizard. A wand"

*ding*

Boxes of wands lined the whole inside of the shop, old, new, dusty, fancy, powerful, all kinds of wands.

"Ah, who do we have here?"

The sudden voice made Arthur jump a little even though he was expecting it.

"H-Hello sir, Arthur Lewis, i would like a wand"

"yes yes...hmm So Mr. Lewis, what is you wand hand" The man circled Arthur, studying him.

"L-Left"

He then waved his hand and a measuring tape flew from somewhere and started taking his measurements.

from shoulder to finger, then wrist to elbow, shoulder to floor, knee to armpit and round his head, nostrils...

Mr. Ollivandser on the other hand had already left, digging shelf after shelfs.

"yes yes..try this Mr. Lewis, yew and unicorn hair, 11 inches, nice and springy"

He handed Arthur a brown wand with a carved handle, Arthur put his hand out to hold it but ollivander took it before he could even touch it.

"No no..hmm not... unicorn core"

He then fumbled a little bit more and picked another one.

"here, alder and phonix feather, 10 and half Inches"

Holding the wand, there was a feeling of warmth but it was gone just as if was there.

"not this either, perhaps..."

He then looked at Arthur sharply, he the looked at a wand box at the very end, covered in dust.

"This.."

He opened the box, inside lay a light brown wand, a dragon carving coiled from the handle to the tip.

He carefully picked the wand and presented it to Arthur. The wand was almost alive, pulsating with life the more it came close to him.

"Vine wood, Dragon heartstring core, 12 inches exact. Powerful"

He gripped the wand into his hand and then...

*swoosh*

as if a a dam broke he was engulfed in golden warmth, sparks flew from the wand tip illuminating the whole shop.

"Congratulations Mr. Lewis, vine wood and dragon heartstring, one represents greater purpose and the other power, we can expect great things from you Mr. Lewis, great things indeed"

[10:47 AM]

Glancing at the clock above he kept wheeling his cart across King's cross to get to platform 9 and 3 quarters.

The orphanage matron had dropped him just now infront of the station and left.

Arthur glanced around and caught sight of a group of red heads along with another someone he knew specially well.

The Weasley family and Harry Potter had just crossed the barrier to platform 9 and 3 quarter.

Following their footsteps he also ran towards the wall, comming out face to face with the red and black beautiful steam engine waiting for departure.

The Weasley's were still around, bidding farewell. Harry had already gone inside.

After struggling to pull his trunk and with the help of a 4th year he made his way inside, cursing his short body.

All the compartment were fully or partially filled, All the first year ones were already full, and he really didn't want to try with upper classmen so he said fuck it and entered the one compartment he knew will have space.

"got space for one?" He asked the other occupants.

"huh? oh yes, go ahead!" Harry said quickly, trying to shift the conversation he was having with Ron about his scar.

"Arthur Lewis, nice to meet you" He said as he sat down.

"I am Harry Potter, this is Ron"

"hello, mate"

After settling down both went back to looking out the window.

"Are all your family wizards?" asked Harry, who found Ron just as interesting as Ron found him.

"Er — yes, I think so," said Ron.

"I think Mom's got a second cousin who's an accountant, but we never talk about him."

"So you must know loads of magic already."

"not much, just little stuff, you know"

"I heard you went to live with Muggles," said Ron, "What are they like?"

"Horrible — well, not all of them. My aunt and uncle and cousin are, though. Wish I'd had three wizard brothers."

"Five," said Ron. For some reason, he was looking gloomy. "I'm the sixth in our family to go to Hogwa-" Arthur stopped listening to their conversation and decided to take a little rest, he had to wake up early to get to London, having very little to no sleep last night due to excitement.

At half past 12 a trolley slid before their compartment, "anything from the trolley dears?", A women asked as she pushed the trolley.

Awake from the commotion Arthur looked around, then at the trolley and said no.

I would love to but i am broke, He thought to himself.

Ron had also refused, pointing at the homemade sandwiches.

Harry, seeing so many candies and having money to buy them for the first time leaped at the chance. buying tons of whatever looked good.

Wanting to share he offered both Arthur and Ron some which both took.

Arthur tried some pumpkin pies and choclate frog, he got an Agrippa card which he gave to Ron.

"Always wanted one, it's pretty rare" He said.

Opening new frogs and checking the cards the trio got many famous witches and wizards.

Harry then opened a pack of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans.

"You want to be careful with those," Ron warned Harry.

"When they say every flavor, they mean every flavor — you know, you get all the ordinary ones like chocolate and peppermint and marmalade, but then you can get spinach and liver and tripe. George reckons he had a booger-flavored one once."

Ron picked up a green bean, looked at it carefully, and bit into a corner.

"Bleaaargh — see? Sprouts."

"but isn't that fascinating, you could taste any flavoured but not actually taste it, so if you say get a shit flavoured one then you can taste shit without actually eating shit, not that anyone would want to taste shit but ya know just saying..." said Arthur as he picked a light pink coloured one.

"what did you get?" Harry asked.

"rose"

"like the flower?"

"yeah, tastes bad but smells good, 6/10"

"wicked mate, never got that one"

They tried a few flavours, some were good some were bad.

Their conversation went back to wizarding family when Harry asked about them.

"are your parents also wizards Arthur?" Harry asked.

"Orphan" Arthur replied calmly, "well i was told my dad was a wizard, mom a muggle, nothing extraordinary" he added.

"oh - s-sorry about that-" Harry's expression sank hearing Arthur but Arthur waved him off, just then there was a knock on the door of their compartment and a round-faced boy stood at the front, he looked tearful.

Neville Longbottom, Thought Arthur.

"Sorry," he said, "but have you seen a toad at all?"

When they shook their heads, he wailed, "I've lost him! He keeps getting away from me!"

"He'll turn up," said Harry.

"Yes," said the boy miserably. "Well, if you see him …"

He left.

"if it's inside the train then he would probably find it" Said Arthur.

"Don't know why he's so bothered," said Ron. "If I'd brought a toad I'd lose it as quick as I could. Mind you, I brought Scabbers, so I can't talk."

The rat was still snoozing on Ron's lap.

"He might have died and you wouldn't know the difference," said Ron in disgust. "I tried to turn him yellow yesterday to make him more interesting, but the spell didn't work. I'll show you, look …"

He rummaged around in his trunk and pulled out a very battered-looking wand.

It was chipped in places and something white was glinting at the end.

"Unicorn hair's nearly poking out. Anyway —"

He had just raised his wand when the compartment door slid open again. The toadless boy was back, but this time he had a girl with him. She was already wearing her new Hogwarts robes.

"Has anyone seen a toad? Neville's lost one," she said.

She had a bossy sort of voice, lots of bushy brown hair, and rather large front teeth.

"We've already told him we haven't seen it," said Ron,

but the girl wasn't listening, she was looking at the wand in his hand.

"Oh, are you doing magic? Let's see it, then."

She sat down. Ron looked taken aback.

"Er — all right." He cleared his throat.

"Sunshine, daisies, butter mellow, Turn this stupid, fat rat yellow."

He waved his wand, but nothing happened. Scabbers stayed gray and fast asleep.

"Are you sure that's a real spell?" said the girl.

"Well, it's not very good, is it? I've tried a few simple spells just for practice and it's all worked for me. Nobody in my family's magic at all, it was ever such a surprise when I got my letter, but I was ever so pleased, of course, I mean, it's the very best school of witchcraft there is, I've heard — I've learned all our course books by heart, of course, I just hope it will be enough — I'm Hermione Granger, by the way, who are you?"

She said all this very fast.

Harry looked at Ron, and was relieved to see by hisstunned face that he hadn't learned all the course books by heart either.

Arthur on the other hand was just watching all this with half amusement, half irritation.

I forgot the early years Hermione was really unbearable, He thought.

"I'm Ron Weasley," Ron muttered.

"Arthur Lewis, nice to meet you"

"Harry Potter," said Harry.

"Are you really?" said Hermione. "I know all about you, of course — I got a few extra books for background reading, and you're in Modern Magical History and The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts and Great Wizarding Events of the Twentieth Century."

"Am I?" said Harry, feeling dazed.

"Goodness, didn't you know, I'd have found out everything I could if it was me," said Hermione.

"Do any of you know what House you'll be in? I've been asking around, and I hope I'm in Gryffindor, it sounds by far the best; I hear Dumbledore himself was in it, but I suppose Ravenclaw wouldn't be too bad. ...Anyway, we'd better go and look for Neville's toad. You three had better change, you know, I expect we'll be there soon."

And she left, taking the toadless boy with her.

"well...that happened" said Arthur.

"Whatever House I'm in, I hope she's not in it," said Ron. He threw his wand back into his trunk.

"Stupid spell — George gave it to me, bet he knew it was a dud."

"What House are your brothers in?" asked Harry.

"Gryffindor," said Ron.

Gloom seemed to be settling on him again.

"Mom and Dad were in it, too. I don't know what they'll say if I'm not. I don't suppose Ravenclaw would be too bad, but imagine if they put me in Slytherin."

"That's the House Vol-, I mean, You-Know-Who was in?"

"Yeah," said Ron. He flopped back into his seat, looking depressed.

"what house do you want to be in, Arthur?" Asked Harry, trying to shift the conversation to someone else.

"meh, doesn't matter which house, well i suppose Hufflepuff would be good, i heard they have the best common room and they are closest to the kitchen"

"Hufflepuff? who would want to a Hufflepuff, you really are weird mate" said Ron now looking less gloomy.

"It doesn't really matter to me actually"

Ron and Harry then started talking about Gringotts and Quidditch.

while Ron was explaining about the finer points of quidditch the compartment door slid open yet again.

"what is with this compartment and unwanted visitors" muttered Arthur, sighing when he saw the blond pale faced boy standing there with two fat cronies.

"Is it true?" he said. "They're saying all down the train that Harry Potter's in this compartment. So it's you, is it?"

"Yes," said Harry. He was looking at the other boys, Both of them were thickset and looked extremely mean. Standing on either side of the pale boy, they looked like bodyguards.

"Oh, this is Crabbe and this is Goyle," said the pale boy carelessly, noticing where Harry was looking.

"And my names Malfoy, Draco Malfoy."

Ron gave a slight cough, which might have been hiding a snigger. Draco Malfoy looked at him.

"Think my name's funny, do you? No need to ask who you are. My father told me all the Weasleys have red hair, freckles, and more children than they can afford."

His eyes then drifted to the third occupant on the compartment, " and you probably a no name half-blood, or worse a filthy muggle-born".

He turned back to Harry. "You'll soon find out some wizarding families are much better than others, Potter. You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there."

He held out his hand to shake Harry's, but Harry didn't take it.

"I think I can tell who the wrong sort are for myself, thanks," he said coolly.

Draco Malfoy didn't go red, but a pink tinge appeared in his pale cheeks.

"I'd be careful if I were you, Potter," he said slowly.

"Unless you're a bit politer you'll go the same way as your parents. They didn't know what was good for them, either. You hang around with riffraff like the Weasleys and no name half-bloods, and it'll rub off on you."

"Say that again," Ron said, his face as red as his hair.

"Oh, you're going to fight us, are you?" Malfoy sneered.

"Unless you get out now," said Harry, more bravely than he felt, because Crabbe and Goyle were a lot bigger than him.

"But we don't feel like leaving, do we, boys? We've eaten all our food and you still seem to have some."

Goyle reached toward the Chocolate Frogs next to Ron — Ron leapt forward, but before he'd reached a voice called from behind him.

"now now, no need to fight" There stood Arthur with his wand aimed at the trio.

"We could all settle this peaceful, right?" he said this with a smile, moving closer to Goyle.

"S-Stay away"

"After all we are all just friends right? there is no need for you lot to get harmed. right?"

All three turned as quickly as they came and ran away, Malfoy kept shouting about his father.

"blimey mate, that was bloody brilliant! did you see Malfoy's face"

Hermione once again came to remind them about their robes.

A voice echoed through the train: "We will be reaching Hogwarts in five minutes' time. Please leave your luggage on the train, it will be taken to the school separately."

The train slowed right down and finally stopped, People pushed their way toward the door and out on to a tiny, dark platform.

Arthur stood with the rest of first years when he heard a loud booming voice, "Firs' years! Firs' years over here! All right there, Harry?"

Hagrid's big hairy face beamed over the sea of heads.

"C'mon, follow me — any more firs' years? Mind yer step, now! Firs' years follow me!"

He lead them through a wet and slippery path towards a shore where many small boats were lined over a huge lake.

"No more'n four to a boat!" Hagrid called out.

Arthur joined a random boat, There was a familiar ravenclaw boy he didn't remember the name and two others he didn't recognise.

The boats started moving together on thier own, But no one was paying that any attention, everyone was looking towards the grand castle.
