Aiden's Point of View
"This is bullshit mom! How could that ass-hat find a female whore to share what belongs to Abby!" I wanted to raise my voice more, but the female was finally asleep, not a pain-induced black out, thanks to my mom's herbs and potpourri. Otherwise she would still be in pain, suffering whatever retribution my brother was currently going through. I couldn't care less about his pain and suffering. He may not have marked her yet, but she was already half ours due to my marking. If I had known that Austin had a whore and bastard child, I would never have guided her home. I feel nauseous just thinking about Abby being with Aiden and his unclean self.
Tainted. My brother chose another female over our moon's chosen mate. I feel appalled at his actions. I left for two years, scouring everywhere I could get my paws too, finally being drawn to California, where I encountered the sweetest scent. To my chagrin, she was not a wolf pretending to be a human, but a human all the way.
And I scared my mate with my wolf's animal urge to mate and mark her after realizing she didn't have a clue what I was doing.
I mean, I pissed on the fire hydrant outside of her home for crying out loud.
Knowing she thought I was a stalker seriously breaks my heart. As if I would harass a random female.
If she were a wolf, she would have sought me out. I should have known something was wrong after two months.
I looked over at my mom, her grim face showing what I was thinking.
"I told him already to forget that female, but he ignored me. Instead, he took her with him to every pack event, ours and our allies. Shit, he even paraded her around Europe like a fucking moron. Ignoring all the gossip and shit talking. What am I supposed to do when he ignores not only my advice as his mother, but my soothsaying as an oracle?" Mom lamented. Her voice sounded strained and on edge.
"I never thought that the moon would grant you both a human mate. She's so oblivious to everything. If she were wolf, she would have come to the Alpha and requested entrance to our lands. She would have marked and mated you at once. I don't know what the moon has in store for you both. Even the moon kept this hidden from me..." mom's voice trailed off, before giving me a hard stare. "What did you learn about my daughter-in-law?"
I didn't even try to hesitate. "She does not have any ties to the supernatural world. None. Even her friends are all humans. Her mother is a stay-at-home wife. She sells Tupperware for fun, but otherwise is content to stay at home. Her father is a local defense lawyer in Visalia. He's faithful and loves his wife. They have a total of seven children. Abby is the seventh child and only daughter. Her six brothers all live in Visalia. Jerome is the oldest, and works in construction as a lead foreman and inspector. He makes around $300.000 a year. Jake is the second born. He works in the oil field and has worked his way up to an office position. He also makes around $300,000 a year. Third born is Timothy. Twice married and twice divorced, he has full custody of his son. His income is not known, since he works for himself and I didn't want to break into his house just to snoop around. He does seem the most laid back. The fourth born son's name is Chris. He followed in his father's steps and became a defense attorney as well. He works with his dad at the same law firm, but makes about $100,000 less, but more than the other brothers at around $400,000 a year. The fifth son, Mark, is the most unique and unorthodox of the bunch. He sells marijuana legally, but uses as much as he sells. Well, maybe not. He makes roughly $100,000 a year, but his wife has a bit of a gambling problem, so reduce that by half. The sixth son is in the military and stationed in Japan at the moment. He is an officer, not sure what rank, but has been in since he graduated from West Point. James may make the least amount, but he is the brother that is closest to Abby and supports her the most. Abby has several degrees in education and is a tenured professor at the local college there. She makes a little under $100,000 a year, but she resigned when I...she resigned and took this road trip. So she is living off of her savings account. The family is sturdy and completely human. No ties, and I mean none to the supernatural world. The only connection I can see for Abby to have with us, is her being born as the seventh child of the seventh child, both of her parents are the seventh child," I end my speech, watching as my mom's face change once she hears that Abby is a trifecta seventh child. Even in wolf society, this is a feat that is hard to come by, and we strive to birth seven children.
If a wolf was to find that their moon-given mate was a seventh born...it would be the ultimate blessing. Hearing that my human mate was born from parents that were seventh born and she is also the seventh born, I can't fathom what the moon is planning.
And my dumbass brother went and impregnated a second-born beta wolf, even knowing our destiny.
At this thought, I finally feel something other than minor pain from my brother. The she wolf has finally removed her metaphorical gloves and caused some real damage to his body.
I look over at my mom, who is still chewing on her bottom lip, contemplating what I just said. "We need to wait for your dad to get home. Foster can always see things in a different light," she looked up and saw my expression, properly reading the impatience there. "Don't worry, I had him tune into our conversation, so you don't need to repeat anything!"
