Chapter 2 - Chapter 1 "like Magritte's mirror"

"You the new guy?"

Jack nodded.

"Your class is on the second floor on your left".

"Thanks"

It didn't take too long to find the class.

The door was sprayed with strange geometric figures: two circles with a vertical rectangle in the middle, which most likely had some deep meaning.

Jack knocked on the door and walked in awkwardly.

"It's the new student," whispered someone.

"Damn he ugly," said a girl.

Several people chuckled.

Jack heard that and felt that.

"Jack, how about you introduce yourself to your classmates?" asked the teacher.

Jack stood in front of the class and bowed:

"Hello, I'm Jack Johnson, but you can also call me Jackie. I hope we can get along."

"Welcome Jack, you can go sit over there next to _____, he will introduce you to the school whereabouts later" the teacher pointed to the back of the room where there was an empty seat next to a dude with a annoyed and a not very welcoming face.

"Man, you look like a school shooter" said the dude once Jack sat next to him.

"That's mean" thought Jack while wondering if he looked really that bad: he had never seen himself in the mirror.

Literally.

Except for his name, he had no previous recollection of his life, no memory whatsoever.

It was as if he had suddenly gained consciousness only after stepping through the school's door, after a life of complete obliviousness, a life unknown to him because he was like on "autopilot mode".

It was an odd, overwhelming sensation, as if he had never existed before, or that he was always there but as some kind of primitive, unaware entity.

He didn't know who he was.

His name sounded completely unfamiliar.

"Anyway I'm ______, nice to meet ya" his thoughts were interrupted by the guy who had just insulted him.

"Sorry what"

"I'm ______."

Jack gave him a stupid look.

"What? The author didn't bother to give me a name yet. You know, you don't even know what you look like yourself"

He wasn't wrong, Jack had no clue, amd he was beginning to suspect that he wasn't a member of BTS.

He was planning to go to the bathroom and look at himself in the mirror as soon as the class ended.

"Anyway nice to meet you too _____, I'm Jackie. I hope we can get along"

"Yeah you said that before" he quickly dismissed Jack and went on doing whatever he was doing before.

Class ended.

Jack quickly went to the restroom.

He took a look in the mirror.

Nothing was there.

He was staring at nothing but a dark silhouette with no shape.

Jack felt shivers running down his spine.

He wasn't there.

Who was he?

Why was he alive?

What was the meaning of all of this?

Jack slowly realised he didn't have an identity.

Did he even had parents?

What food did he like?

Who was he?

All these existential thoughts came raining down on him in a flash, he had fallen through a rabbit hole.

Jack was saved by the bell that took him back to reality.

"Others know how do I look like. Why I don't?"
