The sorcerer woke up, rubbing his eyes while collecting his thoughts.
His hideout, an abandoned stone cabin in the middle of Lockwood Forest, shaked fiercely while the sorcerer read the magic words, but it stood silent now. In a flash of light, the spellbook flew away, and the sorcerer was thrown back, hitting his head on the floor. When he woke up, the room was covered in a light pink smoke, the scent of a dozen flowers filled the air with a soothing atmosphere. In the middle of the smoke, there laid a body. Upon closer inspector, the sorcerer understood that it was a girl. He quickly ran to fetch the spellbook.
"Wake up, demon!" - he screamed at the unresponsive body. The book said the summoned creatures would only respond to a strong sorcerer. Being aggressive is how he thought he would prove his strength to his new creation.
"Wake up, I said! I command you!" - He tried once again. His voice echoed through the cabin.
A groan.
"Stop screaming." - the creature answered, tired. It had a beautiful voice. Like a bard. - "I heard you the first time."
The sorcerer stood still. He didn't know what to do right now. "What would Master do?" - he thought. He shuffled through the pages on the spellbook, without realizing the creature was getting up. When he looked back at her, the creature was standing right in front of him, her seven-feet figure towering over his small body, short for his age. He jumped back.
"Y-you stay there! Don't come near me, demon!" - He commanded, doing a poor job hiding his fear.
"Whatever." - The creature answered.
The sorcerer read a few more pages of the book. Then, he said:
"What is your name? I command you, what is your name!?"
"Delphine." - she answered. - "You don't have to 'command me' all the time. The spell has bound me to you." - she looked to the book, then back at him.
"Of course!" - he had just gotten to that part. - "I knew that."
"Who are you?" - Delphine asked.
"Your master." - the sorcerer answered.
She sighed. - "No, I mean your actual name. It's only fair, don't you agree?"
The sorcerer hesitated for a few moments, before agreeing: "Fine. I'm Eadwynn. But it's Master Eadwynn, for you."
"Of course, Master Eadwynn." - she didn't take him seriously, and that deeply annoyed the sorcerer. - "What will you have me do, then, clean this place? It sure needs it."
"W-what? No!" - Eadwynn said. - "First, I want you to tell me who you are. What you are."
"Well, doesn't the wings on my head answer your question?" - Delphine asked, but she saw that Eadwynn was clueless. - "I'm a succubus."
"A succubus? I've never heard of your kind." - the sorcerer was back shuffling the book. - "What is it you do?"
"Keep reading. I'm sure it's there."
And indeed it was.
"SUCCUBUS - Type: Demon / Origin: The Underworld
A succubus is a demon that takes the shape of a female human, despite having above average height and physical strength.
Powers: Mind-control. Life Steal."
Eadwynn stopped reading. Mind-control? Life steal? This thing is stronger than anything he had ever faced under Master Dornwell's training. If what the book says is true, he could be the world's stronger sorcerer if he managed to capture the succubus' powers.
While Eadwynn was reading, Delphine walked around the cabin. She could see the glyphs painted on the walls. "No getting out of here, she thought."
"Creature!" - Eadwynn shouted.
"Yes?" - Delphine answered.
"I want you to...give me your powers!" - he commanded, the fire of ambition burning strongly inside his eyes.
Delphine laughed.
