It was a peaceful night two days into the new month when all of Alex's scales stood up as he physically felt zorah magdaros draw near. Apparently as the huge elder walked under the sea it's fiery aura was hidden very well by the layers of water , but when it started to get too shallow the aura started to leak out of the water and Alex could feel it. It was the feeling you get when you stand at the mouth of an active volcano and a sort of instinctual dread shows up. Alex left his temporary sleeping spot outside of astera and roared loudly to wake up the town.
It worked too as everyone was up and at arms at the sound before Alex found the fleet commander and motioned to the sea before pointing at one of the ships in the dock. The man figured it out quickly and started barking out orders. "All hands on deck , the fifth fleet is coming in hot with zorah magdaros!" He yelled out ignoring Alex as he took off in the air. Alex's target was the newest elder dragon to make the crossing , zorah magdaros.
Alex was practically buzzing in excitement as he flew through the air towards where he feels zorah at in the distance. The first thing Alex sees of the elder however was the intense glow of the flowing magma from beneath the surface of the water. Somehow the three ships carrying the fifth fleet and all their supplies didn't notice this as they were sailing directly above zorah. Alex roared as he hovered above the ships drawing the attention of those on watch at the time. The decks of the three ships were quickly swarmed with hunters as the look out rang the warning bells.
Alex didn't need to do anything else as that hunters quickly noticed that they were sailing over zorah and had the helmsman swerve away from the elder just in time as it broke the surface. Despite dodging a horrible accident thanks to Alex most of the hunters remained wary of Alex who was flying overhead. Alex himself however didn't care since he had saved them from a terrible accident , instead he was focused on the black scaled flesh that hung loosely off zorah's face. From what he remembered of the game these dangly bits of flesh could be removed without much trouble at all.
(FWOOSH!)
Alex accelerated in an instant towards these pieces of flesh in hopes of cleaving some off for his own consumption. What alex had failed to realize was that it had taken close to fifteen twenty pound cannon balls impacting that flesh to remove it in the game. The only advantage he had to try and get even close to that amount of damage was his sharp claws. no matter how you looked at it cannon balls were blunt force and as a result had far less cutting power than claws requiring more power to do the same results.
Zorah paid Alex no attention however even as his bloodthirst was made evident to the world and for good reason too. When alex's claws slammed into the dangling flesh under zorah's chin they sunk in barely an inch as the thick skin repelled the penetrative force easily. This caught Alex off guard as his momentum caused him to jerk to an abrupt stop thanks to his stuck claws. Alex roared in pain as he felt his left shoulder get dislocated with a sickening (POP!). Zorah didn't even flinch at any of this since it barely felt a thing despite Alex's attack injuring himself in the process.
Alex flapped his wings and slammed his left shoulder into the solid surface that was zorah and popped his shoulder into place with a loud grunt followed by a hiss of pain. 'Ok so maybe this is less of a fast brief attack kind of thing and more of a slow continuous type of thing.' Alex thought as he distanced himself from zorah to redo his approach. At this point it was pretty clear to the majority of the fifth fleet hunters that Alex was the elder dragon that the guild had briefed them on before they left.
