"Look , I'm out here following you around so the least you could do would be to play along" the man said honestly. 'didn't you volunteer to be here?' Alex thought and the look he gave the admiral made these thoughts clear. "Yeah yeah I know I brought this on myself , still could you at least try and keep me entertained?" The admiral asked with a grin. Alex sighed before trying to smack the admiral with his tail. "now we're talking!" the man said excitedly as he parried the spike on the end of Alex's tail with the back of his hand.
This continued as they made their way to what would be considered area eleven in the game with large thick trees and massive solid mushrooms growing on the roots. Besides this the area was fairly open with plenty of space for large monsters move move around and even fight. Towards the back of the area Alex's prey sat on slightly raised branches sticking out of the trees. Pterodactyl like creatures with blue and yellow skin and head with beaks that looked like an axe head split down the middle. Due to the fact they were barely the size of an average person Alex still found it hard to believe these things could carry a person.
The creatures were desensitized to the presence of people and other monsters so when Alex and the admiral showed up they didn't react at all. Alex stopped entertaining the admiral and motioned to the wing drakes with his tail. "That's what you are after? I suppose you would need to go after a wild one to eat it though now that i think about it. Do you want to handle this or should I?" the admiral asked calmly.
Alex pointed at himself and the admiral nodded before going to sit on a nearby mushroom to watch. Alex slowly moved into the shadows of the vegetation all around him much to the interest of the admiral whose eyes widened as Alex seemed to vanish into the darkness. The wing drakes still hadn't reacted despite the clear interest in them both Alex and the admiral had shown. This proved to be the death of one of them as Alex seemed to manifest out of nothing as he left the shadows and slowly climbed the tree the drakes were on.
The [ridged claws] trait showed it's usefulness as Alex made no sound at all walking up the side of the tree making sure to stay out of the drakes sight. Once he was close enough to one of the drakes Alex launched his tail around the side of the tree on wrapped it around the throat of one of the wing drakes making it panic and take off into the air. Rather than actually flying away however the drake was choked by its own attempt as alex dug his claws into the tree trunk anchoring himself down. The admiral watch in interest as Alex began to pull the struggling wing drake ever closer to him with his thin but powerful tail.
Alex's tail was like a snake coiling back on itself and drawing the small wyvern closer to him nice and slowly. After about five minutes of struggle the wing drake was within range of Alex's claws , a fact he used to his advantage by tearing the flesh of the beast wings making it unable to fly anymore. Once escape was impossible Alex released the wing drake from his tail and jumped off the tree onto it with his main body.
{CRACK!}
Alex grabbed the wingdrakes neck with his jaws and squeezed until the bones snapped from the pressure. The admiral was slightly concerned after seeing the way Alex hunted the wing drake as it was a cold and brutally efficient method that he had never seen a monster use before. Most monsters used predictable and aggressive ways of hunting typically which made it possible for a skilled hunter to kill a much more physically powerful monster. But seeing the way alex hunted reminded the admiral far too much of how hunters themselves hunted as Alex used an intelligent and clever method against a stronger foe.
