Chapter 19 - The Eyes of Power

Naruto stumbled back; his breathing labored, his eyes widened; he desperately tried to catch his breath; he wanted to not think of it, but all his mind could think right now were his parents.

They were my parents? What was that place? Is that the place where I come from? How did I come here? Why has no one ever told me about it?? Naruto thought, asking himself questions after questions; he knew he was getting too emotional. He needed to calm down and think rationally, but the more time passed, the higher the chances of his emotions getting the better of him was rising by the second.

His name is Naruto

He's perfect

Naruto felt his eyes welling; the blonde fell on his knees, his eyes not holding the tears anymore; he felt his heart beating like a hammer, he felt his chest closing in as if his chest was slowly smashing him from the inside, every breath was causing him pain, every heartbeat felt like a stab.

"I can walk on walls," Naruto exclaimed, seeing his feet sticking at the side of the wall; the blonde looked up before running up, soon reaching the roof.

"I'm amazing; I can't wait to show my mother," Naruto thought with a bright smile on his face.

Naruto's forehead touched the cold floor, crying more; he wanted this to stop, but flashes of his mother dying, flashes of his father dying, the pain they felt, all of that just to protect him.

"Why am I here?" Naruto screamed before slamming his hand on the floor, cracking the entire floor; even Kyuubi was surprised by his display of power.

Interesting to think he held so much power despite not training on how to use Chakra, He thought, his eyes analyzing the blonde, who was on his knees.

Naruto shut his eyes tightly, hoping it would stop soon; he didn't want to remember it, not now. His nails caused pressure on his palms, and his palms started bleeding.

"His name is Na-Na-Nar-Naruto."

The blonde remembered all the times his mother had put flowers on the tombstone without a name. All written there was...

A Strong and Wonderful Mother

At the time, Naruto didn't know how who was buried there, and neither did Korra. He had asked his mother who was buried there, but she would either change the subject or tell him he would know later.

"Mother, C-can I ask you a question?" Naruto inquired, his tone shifting from one of delight to one of sadness.

Something Kya noticed right away, even though her son was still staring up at the night sky above them.

"Of course, my son, you are always welcome to speak with me about anything," Kya responded immediately and without hesitating.

Naruto lowered his gaze and took a deep breath before looking up at the stars as if preparing for something.

"W-wh-who was my father?"

Naruto thought of all the times he had wondered about it; who was his father? Now he understood why they couldn't give him a straight answer; they themselves didn't know who his father was, and Naruto himself still wasn't sure who he was.

Naruto remembered the face of his father and couldn't help but notice how similar they were to each other; both had long blonde hair with blue ocean eyes. The only thing Naruto could see he had different was the strange whiskers mark he had since the day he was born, apparently.

After he stopped crying, Naruto forced himself to stand up on his feet; no point in crying, he needed answers and crying for his dead parents wouldn't help anyone, and he wouldn't leave this place until he had his answers.

Looking up, his blue eyes looked up at Kyuubi's red eyes, which widened slightly; he didn't expect such a cold stare from the brat; it reminded him of one person, a person, he himself hated to admit that he could never defeat, that one person who himself could conquer everything if it weren't for Hashirama Senju. His cold eyes sent shivers on his spine even now, decades since he had died.

Uchiha Madara

Kyuubi flinched slightly when Naruto's eyes turned to Sharingan; he still remembered those dammed eyes, the memory of them was carved on his head for the rest of his life, the three times that damn eye-controlled him, but what made him sweat slightly, was what happened next.

Naruto's Sharingan slowly evolved; a third tomoe slowly appeared in both of his eyes. Fully evolving his normal Sharingan.

Shit, Kyuubi thought; he wondered if Naruto himself knew what kind of power he held in his hands, and he wasn't talking about the Sharingan, but what would happen if he ever got access to Mangekyo Sharingan. That would allow him to control Kyuubi, something the demon fox hated beyond everything.

Naruto felt a new source of power on his body, engulfing him like a fire; he felt strong, stronger than ever before; he felt his arms, legs, everything felt stronger, especially his eyes, in a way he could see clearer now.

Could it be the red eyes, the blonde thought, remembering the strange red eyes he had when they were trying to save Bolin from the Equality supporters.

He remembered how strange his eyes looked; the moment he stopped sending chi to his eyes, they returned back to their normal blue eyes. Naruto hadn't told anyone yet; he wasn't sure what to say exactly when he himself didn't know what exactly happened to him.

Naruto lifted his hand in front of his eyes, suddenly, he could see what looked like veins inside his hand, but instead of blood, they looked blue, almost like a small blue fire flowing through his hand.

The blonde didn't know what it was but didn't care right now; lowering his hand, he looked up at Kyuubi, whose eyes were narrowed; he could see clear hatred on his giant red eyes; even the malice intent from Kyuubi was everywhere around Naruto, trying to crush him from every direction, yet, now Naruto didn't feel bothered by it anymore.

Naruto suddenly remembered the masked man who attacked his parents, he had caught only a single glimpse, but Naruto remembered that the masked man had the same red eyes Naruto had.

Damn, is that a Sharingan! Naruto remembered his father thinking that name when he had detected the red-eye through the eyehole of the mask.

So whatever this power is, it is called Sharingan, he thought; closing his hand on a fist, he decided to ignore that for now.

"Kyuubi, what was that place you showed me? Where do I come from?" Naruto asked firmly, looking up at the creature, not breaking eye contact; his eyes were Sharingan, and both of them were in a gazing war.

"Why should I bother to answer, is not like you could ever go back there," Kyuubi answered after a few moments of silence between each other; personally, he thought he would be angrier at the brat, but knowing that once the brat dies, he will be free, probably eased his anger.

Kyuubi knew this place didn't have seals, and the only person capable of making seals could never do that; Naruto had nothing or nobody to teach him seals; Kyuubi knew the brat didn't even know they existed.

Once the brat dies, Kyuubi knows he will appear again after nine years; once that happens, he will be free again; if the humans of this world dared to attack him, he would show them why he was the strongest bijuu in the world.

Naruto heard what Kyuubi said; he swallowed; a part of him knew the chances of seeing the place where he came from were slim, but what Kyuubi said probably ended any thoughts but...

Do I even want to see that place? Naruto asked himself; despite coming from wherever that place was, he felt no connection whatsoever to it; sure, he knew his parents came from that place, but he didn't know them, yet Naruto felt love for them.

He didn't need to personally know them to know they loved him; they sacrificed their lives to ensure his survival.

But even if he ever went to that place, so what? No one would know who he was, and even if they did, Naruto wouldn't know anyone there, and a part of him didn't even want to know.

"What do you mean? Why can't I go there?" Naruto prompted, his voice sounding a bit pleading, something he hated to show in front of the Kyuubi.

Kyuubi narrowed his eyes at the little brat, wondering if he should just ignore that, but soon decided just to fulfill his wish. "You're not deaf; you can never go back; it's impossible. What your mother did was something that shouldn't have happened; by using that scroll, she hoped to teleport you and herself to a different place, to a safe place; but I doubt she thought you would be transported to an entirely different dimension, hell, we shouldn't even be alive right now." Kyuubi finished with a growl at the end. Thinking this conversation was over, he put his claws over each other before resting his head on them, wanting to sleep again.

Naruto heard what Kyuubi said, but he felt that there was something he wasn't telling him; whatever that was, the blonde boy didn't know, and that annoyed him; if only there were a way to force him to talk.

Right now, Naruto decided to ask a question he wanted the answer to, probably more than anything.

"Why did you? Why Did You Kill My Parents?" Naruto screamed at the end; his eyes turned to Sharingan without him noticing.

This caused Kyuubi to glare furiously at the brat for daring to ask that question. Why? Why?? How dare he asks that??? Kyuubi slammed his head in front of the cage, his eyes closer to the brat than ever before, his Killing Intent going out of control.

"Look At Me, Brat. What Do You SEE? TELL ME" Kyuubi screamed furiously, his claws sticking out through the small openings of the cage, his claw almost reaching him.

Naruto opened his mouth to speak, but before he could utter a single word...

"I'm inside a Cage, kept inside like a Wild animal, all because you humans wanted more Power. Do you really think I wanted to be sealed inside of YOU? Do you really think I wanted to be caged again after over a century of being held inside like some sort of DEMON" Kyuubi finished it with a roar, his voice alone cracking the walls around them.

Kyuubi expected the brat to say something to justify his parents, to justify what people had done, but instead, he lowered his gaze.

Kyuubi saw the brat looking down, wondering what was going on in his head, after a minute of absolute silence. The brat murmured something that Kyuubi didn't hear.

"WHAT?" Kyuubi growled, not being able to hear what the brat was murmuring.

"I am sorry," Naruto said louder this time; Kyuubi's eyes widened slightly but quickly turned back to normal; Kyuubi didn't expect this answer from the brat. He had, to be honest, he hadn't expected the brat to say that. He expected him to blame him still but not say that he felt sorry for him.

The blonde thought of what he himself would do; he didn't know exactly what happened to the world he came from, but sealing the Kyuubi like that wasn't something he could justify. Naruto looked up at Kyuubi again.

"I'm not happy with what happened, but in a way, I'm where I am because of what happened that night. I don't know what kind of life I would have if I was still in that place, but I know that I'm happy here; I have people that love me, a home to go back to." Naruto finished with a genuine smile.

Kyuubi said nothing, wondering if he should say something to him; Naruto gave him a sad smile before turning around, walking away from Kyuubi, who was still stunned by his words.

Naruto's mind was full of thoughts, and he knew he needed to talk with his family, especially his mother; the blonde smiled slightly; despite everything, he now knew he still thought of her as his mother.

And at that moment, Naruto would still think of them as his family, despite everything.

Naruto knew that even if they weren't related by blood, they were still his family; the only thing he didn't like was that they didn't tell him the truth before; he wanted to visit his mother's grave and put flowers on her grave.

As he disappeared from his landscape, Kyuubi was silent as he pondered what Naruto had said.

"I am sorry," Kyuubi repeated what the little brat said to him; he wondered if there was more to Naruto than he had thought, the giant fox didn't know it, but he was curious about what the future would bring him.

"This is interesting; what do you think about the boy, tou-san?"

Naruto gasped as it took a minute for him to remember where he was; looking around, he remembered that he was back on the Air Temple Island. His eyes wandered around before his eyes settled on the house of his uncle.

"Uncle!" He repeated the words; it still felt right to call him that; he knew his uncle could have easily just rejected him when he started showing signs that he was dangerous and unpredictable.

Naruto remembered his last talk with his uncle, the way he encouraged him, and the way he smiled at him despite knowing he could be dangerous due to a power that even Korra wouldn't be able to stop.

Naruto instinctively touched his stomach, thinking of Kyuubi, the blonde hated to admit it, but he was... afraid of what could happen. What if I lose control again? What if next time, no one was there to stop me? What if next time I go further with my anger? Kyuubi said that due to his anger, he had accessed his power, causing him to lose control and attack anyone in sight.

What should I do? Naruto asked himself before he felt a nudge from behind him. Turning around, his eyes saw Sozu looking at him with what could be seen as concern.

"Hey buddy," Naruto said smiling, petting his head; his eagle clearly enjoyed the attention from his owner.

"What do you think? What should I do?" Naruto asked, smiling. Sozu looked at him with a look that said, 'You're an idiot', the blonde boy chuckled at his expression before nodding in agreement.

"You're probably right, my friend," he said before walking past Sozu, who followed behind quietly.

Soon walking inside, surprisingly, Sozu looked to want to walk inside with him. The blonde couldn't remember Sozu acting like that, but he just shrugged it off as unimportant right now; perhaps he wanted to fly, to stretch his wings; Naruto would like that too.

He decided to fly around after his talk with his uncle; that would help to clear his mind.

But now, he needed to talk with his uncle; as he walked through the house, he passed Jinora's room; the door was open, and the blonde noticed Jinora was sitting on the floor, writing something in a little red diary; Naruto mentally chuckled, remembering one time when Ikki had grabbed her diary when she wasn't looking, before reading whatever it was written loudly in front of everyone.

I saw his blue eyes shining today; from up close, they look like the vast ocean.

As he passed her room, he missed the look Jinora gave him as he walked away. She had heard his footsteps; at first, she thought he would walk inside her room but instead, he just passed, much to her disappointment.

Looking down at her diary, she bit her lower lip every time she saw him; she felt different, not uncomfortable; she quite liked the strange feeling.

Jinora wondered if she should talk with her mother; maybe she would know some way to help her, especially since she "helped" Korra with her huge crush on Naruto.

Jinora pouted slightly, knowing Naruto was already taken; she hated to admit it, but Asami was quite beautiful compared to her, Jinora didn't think of herself as that pretty, and most importantly, even if Naruto broke up with Asami, something Jinora highly doubted would happen, there was still Korra, who despite her muscles, she was quite beautiful and well developed. On top of that, she was the Avatar.

Scratching her hair, she closed her diary before hiding it safely under a vase full of flowers. Knowing no one would find it, since her mother didn't like anyone touching her flowers, she left her room, looking around for Naruto.

Naruto

The blonde boy was standing right in front of his uncle's solar, the door that led inside only a foot away; he raised his hand, ready to knock, yet he felt nervous; why was this so hard?

Naruto didn't know why; he felt his heart beating in his throat; he knew he needed to do this. Why?

The blonde suddenly asked himself; he could pretend that he didn't know the truth; yes... his thought trailed off.

No, I need to tell them the truth about who I am? What is inside me? Will they push me away? Naruto quickly dropped that thought; they knew he was dangerous and always welcomed him with open arms.

Naruto thought of his mother back in the South Pole, maybe they weren't related by blood, but the blonde knew he loved her, and she loved him like a son. Not once had she been harsh on him unless he deserved it, something Naruto thought he deserved more often than not.

Sighing, a part of him now wished he didn't know the truth; he wouldn't have these mixed feelings right now, and he wouldn't need to talk to his uncle about his origin.

Naruto took a deep breath before raising his hand; without thinking, he knocked on the door; the sound was loud to Naruto for some reason despite being a simple knocking.

"Come In," a voice said from the other side; Naruto gulped before opening the door slowly.

Taking a peek inside, his eyes found his uncle; he was looking down on his desk as he was writing something on a piece of paper; hearing the door opening, he stopped and looked up to see Naruto's hair sticking out; it almost reminded him of his children whenever they tried to sneak inside his solar when he was inside it, thinking if they opened the door slow enough, he wouldn't notice it.

"Are you trying to sneak in, Naruto?" Tenzin teased with a chuckle.

Naruto rubbed his hair before fully opening the door. "It seems I wasn't as stealthy as I thought. I will try better next time," Naruto said, causing the old master to chuckle before gesturing for Naruto to sit down, knowing his nephew wouldn't come to his solar without some important reason.

Naruto took a deep breath, but his face still showed that he was quite nervous, something his uncle seemed to notice, his face turning a bit more serious.

Tenzin grabbed a teapot in his hands that was slightly steaming and poured the tea into the cup.

Naruto scooted out the chair and sat down on it. "What can I do for you?" Tenzin asked, knowing his nephew was nervous.

Personally, he couldn't remember the last time his nephew was this nervous; he remembered him being like this when he had just started dating Asami, one day coming to him saying that he couldn't help him with his paperwork. When asked why he couldn't help, Naruto had turned red before stuttering out that he had a date.

Tenzin remembered that day with a smile; he had laughed out loud at his nephew's face.

But now, he could tell that something was different. Tenzin didn't know what it was, but he remembered the talk he had with Pema a few days ago about Korra and Naruto.

' "Dear, I think I should tell you something about Korra?" Pema suddenly said; Tenzin had been eating his lunch when she said that; hearing her say that caused him to drop his fork before looking at her with a raised eyebrow.

"What about her?" Tenzin asked; Korra had just started making progress in Airbending, while true it was under Naruto's teaching. Still, he couldn't complain; maybe Korra was right in a way; his way of teaching perhaps wasn't what Korra needed.

"I think Korra fancy Naruto," and just like that, Tenzin started coughing loudly; Pema grabbed a glass of water, and Tenzin drank it, helping with his coughing.

After a few seconds, he was back to normal before looking at Pema, perplexed.

"What makes you say that?" Tenzin asked, not wanting to believe it; while he had nothing against his nephew or Korra for that matter, in his mind Korra needed to worry about romance after learning Airbending and fully mastering her Avatar State, not mentioning that Naruto was already in love with Asami.

Pema giggled at Tenzin's face and how oblivious he was sometimes.

"Trust me, Korra likes Naruto; just how she looks at him is as clear as day," Pema explained.

Tenzin didn't know what to say to that; while he trusted his wife, that was something that could be a problem later.

"I will talk to her later," Tenzin decided. '

"What has made you so nervous?" Tenzin asked calmly as he took a sip from his cup of tea.

He half expected his nephew to say something along the lines of 'Korra just confessed her feelings' or 'I have a romance problem named Korra', but what Naruto said next wasn't what he had expected.

"I know the truth, Uncle!" Naruto said quietly, looking directly at his uncle, who coughed before feeling slightly nervous.

Truth? What truth? Wait! Is he talking about his Origin?

Before Tenzin could ask his nephew to elaborate further, Naruto just straight out a said it.

"I know grandpa Aang found me in a snow storm and that I'm not from this World.
