Naruto
It had been eight years since Avatar Aang found the blonde in the snowstorm; everyone always treated him like family, none of them thought of Naruto as not part of the family.
The blonde himself didn't know of the truth, since he remembered himself, Uncle Sokka would visit once in a while, teaching him how to fight and the most important thing in the World. Use a Boomerang.
Uncle Tenzin didn't often visit, sadly despite Naruto liking his quiet personality, but Naruto's favourite was definitely Aunt Toph.
On your feet, water boy, the ground won't care if you're tired
At first, The blonde had thought she was a bit mean but eventually warmed up.
"I did it, Aunt Toph," Naruto shouted, rushing towards her.
Toph smirked before turning at Naruto; she could tell the boy had done it; his little legs weren't shaking anymore.
"You did well, Water boy," she said, but suddenly Naruto hit her in the arm, grinning like a maniac.
"What was that for?" Toph asked, irritated on the outside, but inside she was smiling.
"That's how I like to show affection," Naruto answered; Toph smiled at him before punching him in the arm, but not hard enough to hurt, making both of them laugh.
Right now, Naruto was trying to bend water; despite his best tries, the water from the puddle just wasn't budging.
Despite his mother saying that it was no problem if he couldn't bend, Naruto wanted more than anything to make her proud; he was Avatar Aang's grandson. He knew Korra was the new Avatar, but he wanted to help himself and help Korra.
The only time Naruto had shown anything extraordinary was 4 four months ago. Uncle Tenzin had visited for his birthday and introduced him to meditating, saying that it was good for both the mind and the body.
Naruto stood with his legs crossed, his hands together in front of his stomach, eyes closed, breathing in and out, relaxing; the only sound he could hear was his own breathing and his heart beating.
Uncle Bumi had commented that he would find this exercise boring, but Naruto found it quite relaxing.
Naruto suddenly felt something warm in the darkness; it felt like a harmless fire; Naruto mentally reached out his hand to grab it.
On the outside, Tenzin was smiling at his nephew; it seemed Naruto didn't have problems with meditating; many children and even Teens would find this whole thing Troublesome and a waste of time.
As the wind was caressing his skin, flying past, suddenly it changed direction, hitting him full force from behind, almost making him fall in the snow; looking up, his eyes widened at seeing Naruto surrounded by what looked like something blue.
"Naruto," Tenzin shouted, concerned for him. Still, the next thing that happened was something he hadn't expected; suddenly, the blue energy around him suddenly expanded everywhere, causing a huge wind to hit him in the front, causing Tenzin to fly several feet in the air.
That day, everyone found out that Naruto wasn't quite normal, but one thing almost no one knew was the strange spirit perhaps living inside Naruto, something Katara, Sokka, Toph, Zuko and Kya secretly knew.
Naruto had not done anything unusual so far, making Kya wonder if there was just nothing to worry about.
Avatar Aang had made sure to tell them about Naruto's strange condition; of course, they kept it quiet; Naruto was such a cheerful kid, Zuko stating that somehow reminded him of Lu Ten.
Naruto, of course, knew none of that; as he tried to bend water over and over again, he hung his face down in anger and somehow shamed.
His eyes suddenly looked at a cloth hanging around the head of the chair.
Naruto breathed in and out before walking over at the chair, the wind caressing his skin; his golden hair was spiky, so spiky that Uncle Sokka liked to call him spiky sunshine, much to his annoyance.
He stopped just two-step away from the chair, outside close enough to his house.
He looked down at his hands, wondering if perhaps he could Airbend; that would be Awesome, he thought with a smirk before looking up at the chair, mainly at the cloth hanging.
"Here goes nothing," He murmured before he pushed both his hands forward, causing the whole chair along with the cloth to fly away before slamming against the ground but thank to the deep snow, it didn't break.
Naruto stood shocked at what he had just done before a smile erupted on his face like a volcano.
Kya
She was talking with her mother, near them stood Uncle Sokka, discussing about the future of Korra.
"Do you think Zuko perhaps can come here?" Uncle Sokka asked Katara, with his hand on his chin.
"I don't know; his wives might not appreciate it," Katara answered with a chuckle at the end; Kya sometimes couldn't understand her mother before they both heard a voice calling...
"MOTHER, Mother, I Did IT, I DID IT," she definitely didn't have time to turn her head towards the voice before her precious boy jumped on her hugging her close meanwhile his legs were dancing.
"I Did It," Naruto repeatedly said before pulling away, looking at everyone with a beaming smile.
Kya was about to congratulate him before Uncle Sokka stood up, raising him up in the air, "That's my little warrior," he shouted before pulling him down with Naruto smiling and laughing.
Calming down, he turned to look at Kya. "Do you want to see it?" He asked, still smiling, she kissed his cheek before they all nodded, but much to their surprise, he didn't take the stance for Waterbending.
What happened next shocked all of the adults to their core.
Naruto pushed his hand forward at Uncle Sokka, causing him to fly in the air before falling in the snow, not harmed with Naruto rolling around laughing.
"Now, I can finally pay you back for your prank," he shouted at Uncle Sokka, who was still trying to pull his head from the snow.
Naruto turned to see his mother's face, but to his surprise, she looked shocked but not happy.
"Mom, did I do something wrong?" He asked with a tiny voice; Kya immediately got over her shock before giving her son a big hug.
"You did wonderfully, my son," pulling away. "How about you go play with Korra," Kya suggested, with Naruto smiling again.
"Can't wait to show her," he said, kissing her cheek; he did the same with Grandma Katara and Uncle Sokka, who rubbed his hair as he ran away to play with the small Avatar Girl.
"What now?" Sokka asked after Naruto was out of earshot.
"We need to tell Tenzin," Kya stated, knowing this would not only make Tenzin happy, knowing he wasn't the last Airbender anymore, but also he was the only one who could train Naruto.
Tomorrow
Katara walks over and bends the water before healing Naruto's twisted ankle causing him to wince in pain before sighing in relief. "Wow, that's amazing."
"What did we learn today, young man?" Katara strictly asked her grandson, who winced slightly before letting out a sight.
"That jumping from the roof when you don't know Airbending very well is not the brightest of the ideas," Naruto replied; he had thought it would look cool to try and perhaps fly around, well not really flying, but ease the falling, but it seemed didn't work as he had planned.
"Very good," Katara said, smiling as she finished healing him.
"It's not like airbending, that's for sure," Kya said.
"Yeah, but when Korra has to learn airbending, that gives me an excuse to beat her," Naruto smirks, looking at her.
"Oh please, Naruto, I can kick your butt up and down this whole compound," Korra smirks with a smile.
"Is that a challenge?" Naruto asks, standing up to her.
"Easy, you two," Kya said as she and Katara stopped them.
"No fighting...yet," Katara smirks, noticing how close the kids were to each other.
"Hey, Korra, how about we play another sneaking game?" Naruto asked; Kya looked at her son in confusion, not understanding what he meant, but the smirk on Korra's face was terrifying.
Before she could ask, what this 'Sneaking game' was, Korra grabbed Naruto's hand, and they ran away, leaving Kya and Katara in the dirt... literally.
Katara left out a burst of laughter; Kya looked at her mother in confusion. "What?"
"From the way they interact, give it six years at best, and their flower might start blooming," her mother said; Kya was taken aback slightly; she never thought about it until now but figured the day would eventually come and her baby boy might look at girls in a new different way.
She wondered if Korra was good enough??
Naruto
"Shhhhhhhh,"
"I know that dummy," Korra replied, annoyed, but soon heard the footsteps of Naruto's uncle.
Slowly opening the secret door that led to the basement, Naruto and Korra's head slowly perked up like mushrooms; they saw Sokka preparing some tea as he poured some in a glass.
"Naga should be here any moment now," Korra whispered to Naruto, who chuckled, and so did Korra.
Sokka prepared to drink his cup of tea when a banging on the door stopped him.
"Strange, who could be?" Sokka spoke to himself before putting down the cup, walking over to the door, opening it, he saw no one there, taking a step outside, he didn't see anyone he looked around but nothing but other houses and snow everywhere, looking at the ground he saw footsteps walking away from the doorstep, figuring it out must be kids, he closed the door.
He soon returned and grabbed the cup of tea, drinking the whole thing without thinking when it hit him.
He felt as a literal fire was burning his chest; it was incredibly hot, letting out a scream; he spit out fire before rushing to drink water.
Outside Naruto, Korra and Naga were rolling in the ground laughing, hearing Sokka screaming like a little girl.
"Did you hear that?" Naruto asked, still laughing.
"Yeh, he was like Wwwwwhhhhhhhhaaaaaa," Korra replied.
They soon stopped laughing; Korra turned to look at Naruto, who was looking back at her, both resting on their backs.
"We should do that again," Korra suggested with an evil smirk; Naruto nodded immediately before they both heard footsteps walking towards them.
Lifting their head only to be met with an angry Uncle Sokka.
"Hahaha-haha, w-what can we do for you, Uncle?" Naruto asked nervously, slowly standing up on his legs, Korra doing the same, while Naga was already running away.
"Come Here," Sokka screamed; Korra grabbed Naruto's hand before running away, soon starting a chase of Cat and Mouse, but it seemed it was mostly Naruto and Korra winning.
Kya and Katara talked in front of her house when they saw Naruto and Korra running together away from an angry Sokka.
"Hi, Mom. Bye, Mom," Naruto said quickly as they passed through, soon followed by Sokka, who was screaming for them to stop leaving behind a gust of wind.
"Sokka will never grow," Katara commented, laughing.
Kya couldn't help but chuckle; she remembered Uncle Sokka doing the same with Bumi and her; Tenzin was always a bit too serious.
The chase went on for three hours straight, with Sokka finally giving up. Seeing him walk away, Naruto finally came out of their hiding place.
"Whew, that was close," Korra commented, Naruto nodding in agreement.
Only now, Naruto and Korra noticed they were still holding hands.
Looking at their hands before they both looked at each other's blue eyes, both blushed, especially Naruto, who was apologising to her.
"Is okay, Naruto, but don't do that in front of the father," Korra warned, knowing her father might not like it. She knew her mother might find it cute, but her father would find this anything but cute.
Naruto nodded, rubbing his head nervously. Feeling a bit awkward right, Korra wondered if she should head home since it was close to dusk.
"Hey Korra, what do you think we see the lights of the sky tonight?" Naruto asked.
Korra immediately nodded her head; soon, they were both lying on top of a rooftop, the sky clear in front of them, stars everywhere. Naga was standing close to Korra.
"Is beautiful," Korra commented before pointing at a star.
"There, you see that one. That's the Avatar Star; my father always told me that star was the Star of the Avatar," Korra said smiling; she waited for a response but got none, turning to look at Naruto, she saw sadness on his face.
"What's wrong, Naruto?" Korra asked, concerned, gently nudging his arm.
"I- I was thinking of who my father is; mom says the stars are the people of the past watching over us; I wonder if my father is watching over me," Naruto said, his eyes welling up, he had thought of asking her that question. Still, he had kept quiet; if his mother wanted to tell him, she would before he felt her arms around his neck.
"What are you doing?" Naruto asked, confused.
"Hugging you idiot, mom always said hugs, makes everyone feel better," Korra said, not taking 'No' for an answer.
Naruto hugged her back and couldn't help but feel nice.
Tomorrow
The day had started normal like always but stopped being one when Kya told Naruto that Uncle Tenzin was coming.
Soon, every one of the family was waiting as they saw the sky bison slowly descending from the sky; Naruto had seen it before but still was amazing to see.
Landing, Tenzin saw many familiar faces, his eyes found Naruto, he was quite surprised to see the little boy had grown up.
Before he could say anything to his mother, Naruto suddenly came running towards him before jumping four meters up in the air directly at his arms.
"See, Uncle Tenzin, I can Airbend. Can you teach me?" Naruto asked excitedly, not waiting for him even to say 'Hello' first; Tenzin rubbed his hair.
"Of course, little nephew," Tenzin causing Naruto to smile brightly.
Later
"Republic City?!" Naruto gasps standing with the White Lotus, Kya and Tenzin.
"Yes, since I'm very busy in Republic City, you'll have to stay with me until I believe you know Airbending," Tenzin said, drinking from the tea Naruto had prepared; despite being only eight years old, Naruto's tea was like made by gods.
"What exactly would I be doing?" Naruto asks, tilting his head at the side.
"I will be teaching you the spiritual side to bending and have you learn to focus and understand your abilities," Tenzin explained, drinking tea again.
Naruto looks to Kya, asking approval, but she smiles at him.
"Go ahead." Kya nods. Despite herself not liking being away from him, but Naruto would return after six months.
She knew her brother had his duties, not to mention, his daughter was still only a year old, and Tenzin had an excellent place to train Naruto in the Air Temple.
Tomorrow
Grabbing his bag, Naruto walks out to see Korra waiting for him, tears rolling down her cheek; behind her were her parents.
"I can't believe you get to leave while I'm stuck here all by myself," Korra said, still wanting to stay strong.
"Don't let Naga hear you say that," Naruto said, causing her to smirk.
"Fair enough." Korra chuckles before putting her hand on his shoulder. "But what am I supposed to do while my best friend is out in the city having fun?"
"Well, you could practice your moves so when I get back, I don't beat you like last time," Naruto smirks, knowing how to make her smile.
"You did not beat me. I slipped on some ice." Korra said, trying to defend herself.
"Still counts," Naruto said, smirking as Korra punched his shoulder.
"Just for that, you have to bring Naga and me some gifts," Korra said with a growing smirk, her mother looking at their interaction with amusement.
"You drive a hard bargain, Avatar, but you got a deal," Naruto said before punching her in the arm, but not to hurt.
"Get back soon, okay?" Korra asks, walking before hugging him.
"You got it." Naruto smiles happily. Patting her back.
Seeing them like this, Senna turned her head at her husband, who wasn't taking this as well as she did.
"I give it ten years," Senna whispered to him. Her husband looked at her in confusion.
"10 years?! What about it! What are you talking about?" He asked, completely oblivious to what she was talking about, causing her to giggle.
Naruto said goodbye to his mother, grandmother and uncle Sokka who told him to not listen to anything that Uncle Tenzin said.
Republic City
As he stood with Tenzin at the Council Meeting, Naruto's delighted grin had turned into a boring look.
"As a result, tales of Triad organisations have spread across the city, and the police are trying to figure out how to stop them," Tenzin said in a solemn tone.
"The Agni Kais, Triple Threat, Red Monsoon, and Terra Triads, on the other hand, seem to be one step ahead of the law. They're eluding arrest in some way." "Says a lady dressed in fire country garb.
"Can't we just give out more metal benders to assist us in putting an end to this?" A guy dressed in earth kingdom garb inquires as Naruto yawns, which a man dressed in water tribe garb notices and chuckles. Tarrlok was his name.
"Is there anything hilarious about all this Tarrlok to you?" Tenzin cocks his head.
"Not at all, but I believe our conversation has sent your helper to sleep." Tarrlok points. As everyone stares at Naruto, who suddenly stands up straight.
"Naruto, keep your attention here. Please forgive my nephew; he's new to the city." Tenzin muttered as he turned to face the others.
"Please accept my apologies." Naruto expressed his embarrassment by touching the back of his head.
"It's just OK. I, too, become tired at these sessions from time to time." With a laugh, Tarrlok remarked.
"It's not that I don't care; it's simply that I'm not sure what you're talking about." Naruto accepts, With a puzzled expression on his face.
"Well, Naruto, as you can see, there are some benders assaulting non-benders in this city, and we're attempting to put a stop to it," Tarrlok remarked.
"Unfortunately, it's turning out to be extremely challenging." Tenzin agreed.
Naruto and Tenzin were heading down the corridor after the meeting concluded, Tenzin glancing over his itinerary.
"All right, Naruto, one more thing to accomplish before we go home," Tenzin stated, causing Naruto to groan angrily. He hadn't considered this while planning to practice his air bending.
"Is there going to be another meeting?" Naruto shivered.
"It's not a huge deal. I'm meeting with Hiroshi Sato's family." Tenzin said something unexpected to him.
"Wait, the inventor of the Satomobile?" Naruto inquires, his astonishment evident in his tone, and he wonders how his uncle ever recognised him.
"Yes, he has requested that I visit his estate. He wants to build a new warehouse, but first, he needs the council's consent." Tenzin stated as they walked up to the mansion, but they had no clue that others were thinking the same thing.
As Tenzin tapped on the door to expose the Butler, Naruto gazed in wonder at the massive home on the Sato estate.
"We've been awaiting you, Councilman Tenzin," Butler said they could come in. "Mr Sato is in the main room with his family."
As Naruto and Tenzin make their way to the main area, they see Hiroshi Sato posing for a photo with his wife Yasuko and their daughter Asami.
"Alright and...perfect," The photographer commented as he took the picture.
"Please accept our apologies if we are intruding." As they walked over, Tenzin said.
"I'm really delighted you could make it, Tenzin." When Hiroshi observed Naruto, he remarked. "And who is this young man?".
"Naruto, he's my nephew. He'll be staying with me for a while." Tenzin placed his hand on the blonde's shoulder and murmured.
"Well, I don't see why we should drag him along. Maybe he can remain with my family down here?" Hiroshi makes a suggestion.
"I suppose," Tenzin remarked, knowing that this would take some time, and Naruto wasn't one to sit still while two elderly dull people spoke.
"Asami." As the little girl approached, Hiroshi remarked. "Would you mind keeping this little child entertained?"
"Sure. It's great to meet you." Asami remarked, extending her hand.
"Naruto."
"Asami." As Yasuko led them away, they exchanged handshakes.
Yasuko remarked, "We'll leave you guys to your business."
"I adore you, sweetheart." Before escorting Tenzin to his office, Hiroshi kissed her on the lips.
"While we go chat to Mr. Sato, you check the remainder of the premises for the family." Before breaking away, the leader stated something as one of them nodded.
Asami and Yasuko brought Naruto to their indoor pool by walking around the home.
"Wow, you folks have a lot of money." The air itself smelt lovely, a combination of fresh strawberry and the fragrance of the morning, Naruto murmured as he glanced at the exquisite dishes around the floor.
"Yes, however, it may be inconvenient when you get up late and need a sip of water." Yasuko laughs.
"Can you tell me where you're from, Naruto?" Asami inquires; his golden hair piqued her interest; she had never seen somebody with that colour before.
"The South Pole is the southernmost point on the globe. We don't have anything like here, but it's fantastic." Naruto remarked.
"There's nothing wrong about it." When they heard footsteps, Yasuko whispered something. "Are you sure you're not done yet, Hiroshi?" Yasuko spins around and gasps.
Asami and Naruto turned around to see an Agni Kai Triad member approaching them.
"Mrs. Sato, would you and your young child want to go on a trip with me? The Agni Kais would be delighted to speak with you." He stated calmly as he approached slowly and menacingly.
"Mom?" Asami inquires; her mother drew her close, her lips quivering.
Naruto remembers Tenzin telling him the names of these triads during the conference he was at, and Agni Kai was one of them.
"Y-You're a trio," Naruto noticed that by keeping his teeth clenched and not releasing that, his teeth were becoming sharper.
"You're correct, little child; how about we make life simpler for everyone?" When Naruto blasts him with air at his feet, the guy falls backwards into the pool.
"RUN!" exclaimed Yasuko, grabbing Asami and Naruto and fleeing for her life.
The Agni Kai emerges from the water, growling, and pursues them.
Hiroshi's workplace
Tenzin was going through the plans.
"Is it good?" Hiroshi inquires.
"These blueprints do not seem to have any flaws, in my opinion. I'm certain that this new warehouse will result in a significant increase in employment opportunities for the local community." Tenzin replied as he returned the plans to him.
"I certainly hope so." When they heard a knock at the door, Hiroshi smiled as he put the plans away.
"Uh, Mr. Sato," the butler remarked as he stood on the other side of the door.
"Come in," Hiroshi said when they saw the 4 Agni Kais holding the Butler hostage as they entered the office.
"What does this mean?" Hiroshi inquires while standing up.
"Don't worry, Mr. Sato, we're just looking for a little donation." Smirking, the leader said.
"Mr. Sato, don't do it!" The Butler argued his case.
"Hiroshi, do not degrade yourself in front of these people," Tenzin murmured with narrowed eyes, suddenly releasing that Naruto was in danger.
"I'd be cautious about what you do because your wife and daughter would suffer." Hiroshi's eyes widened when the leader said.
"You wouldn't do it." Tenzin scoffs at these people's arrogance.
"Mr. Sato, we'll get this done quickly. Try not to be amusing." The Agni Kai made a threat.
"I would never do such a thing," Hiroshi stated; he set off an alarm by touching a button beneath his desk.
Using this opening, the Butler elbows his capture and breaks free.
"Hiroshi duck!" exclaims Tenzin, launching a powerful air blast that slammed the four Agni Kais into the wall.
"Call the cops!". As the Butler raced to the phone, Hiroshi issued commands. "We have to save my family!"
"We will," Tenzin said as they rushed outside.
As the Agni Kai member raced them into the house's hallways, Yasuko, Naruto, and Asami were fleeing for their life.
"This way!" Just as a fireball went past them, Yasuko snatches the kids and leads them outback.
"All we have to do now is go to one of the Satomobiles, and we'll be on our way!" When an Agni Kai member bursts through the windows with a jet of fire and settles in front of them.
"Are you going somewhere?" He grins.
Naruto takes a step ahead. "You'll have to go through me if you want them."
"That's something we can work out." The Agni Kai attacks Naruto with a fireball, deflecting before striking.
He swung his legs back and forth. Naruto used his whip to make the Agni Kai leap. Naruto takes advantage of the opportunity and kicks the elder guy in the belly, knocking him to the ground.
Naruto lunges forward, flames surrounding his feet as he throws an axe kick to the man's leg, forcing him to gasp in agony, but the Agni Kai seized his leg before Naruto could draw back.
"I've travelled much too far to be stopped by a little child!" He yells, knocking Naruto to the ground and continuing beating him in the face.
"Naruto!" Yasuko lets out a gasp.
Asami froze, realising that this kid she had only just met was risking his life to rescue her. Asami did the only thing she could think of and clenched her fist.
"Leave him alone!" Asami screams as she slams into the Agni Kai, knocking all three down the slope.
"Asami!" Yasuko exclaims as she chases them down.
Reaching the bottom As the Agni Kai arose and stared down at Asami and Naruto, they groaned in misery.
"You're going to pay for it." He growls as flames erupt from his palm as he lunges forward, ready to murder them.
Naruto's eyes suddenly went red, at that moment, everything seemed to be in slow motion, he launched himself at the man, before scratching his face, his hand engulfed in red fire, his nails sharp like knives before the man could even blink, sending him crashing against a rock.
The rock itself crumbled from the sheer force, debris flying everywhere.
Naruto looked at the damage; the smoke soon cleared, but his eyes widened seeing his neck, all red; the bleeding just wasn't stopping.
"No, Nononono, No," Naruto rushed crying, reaching the man, he saw his head had turned at almost 45 degrees, at the right side of his neck, a bone was sticking out, the blood pooling like rain, his mouth still leaving out chocking sounds, his eyes bleeding, his nose had shattered like glass, his mouth moving, as if trying to speak, but all Naruto hear was the sound and smell of blood.
"Wake Up, you Can't Be Dead, Please Wake Up," Naruto kept nudging his chest, but he wasn't moving.
"Naruto, don't look," The blond heard a voice, he kept on trying, hoping the man would move but he never did, Tenzin soon arrived followed closely by Hiroshi who hugged his family close, Tenzin gasped at what had happened, Naruto crying loudly, before Tenzin hugged Naruto close to him, stopping him from looking at it, sobbing loudly against his chest.
"I'm Sorry."
