Chapter 1 - Dizzy.

"Son, Did you forget anything?"

Mother Serene shouted from the kitchen.

"No!" Drew waved his hand hurriedly.

"Mom! Mom!" Leila enters the kitchen while calling her mother Serene.

"Are you leaving?" Mother Serene asked.

Leila looks at her wristwatch and replied, "Yes".

Mother Serene sighed and drags her Daughter's hand and makes her sit on the dining chair.

"What's the matter?" Leila threw a careful look at her mother.

Mother Serene hands over a picture to her saying, "Make your time tomorrow evening".

Leila glanced at the picture of a handsome young man in a black tuxedo.

"No, I can't" Leila replied with a calm expression.

Mother Serene smiles faintly and said, "He is Robertson Stone, he's 30 years old this year and...."

"Mom...!" Leila cuts her mother's speech, standing up, she asked, "Mom, Why are you doing this to me?".

"Sit down! I am not done" Mother Serene closed her eyes.

Leila sighed and seats back down. "Mom, Why are you so rushing me of getting married?" Leila said quietly.

"I am not. I just want you to date someone. You are already 26" Mother Serene frowned.

"26 is still young!" Leila mumbled. "Mom!" Leila hugs her mother's left arm and leans on her shoulder affectionately, and said, "Mom, Don't worry! Right man will surely come at the right time. So, let's not stress about it".

"My daughter talks so well" Mother Serene grinned. Maintaining an unfazed expression Mother Serene added, "I cannot cancel it".

"Okay. Then, send Bonie instead of me. She also doesn't have a boyfriend" Leila suggested with a cheerful expression.

"No. Bonnie is busy" Mother Serene shook her head.

"What? I am also busy!" Leila exclaimed.

"Bonnie is a Doctor. You are just an employee in a company. Moreover, She has thousands of men asking for her hand" Mother Serene proudly stated.

Leila blinked and looked at her mother speechlessly.

"What are you guys talking about so passionately?" Leila's eldest brother interrupted the conversation.

"Brother, Mom needs medicines. Prescribe her some medicines" Leila said and took the chance to escape from her mother.

-------

Leila looked up at the building in front of her and her eyes narrowed into slits. "Cherry, That crazy girl!" She hissed.

Leila snapped her head to look at her friend who is approaching her smiling brightly.

"Hi! My Dear friend. Upside down your frown faces" Cherry said with a superficial smile. Cherry had a black embroidered dress. Her hair was meticulously styled and her face was well taken care of, leaving the impression of a generous and gentle woman.

Cherry sized up her friend from head to toe. She cocked her brows in a questioning manner and asked, "What is your concept today?"

"What concept!" Leila shrugged.

"No wonder your mother was worried about you!" Cherry stared at her wickedly. "Who wears jeans and a shirt in the club?"

Leila awkwardly scratched the back of her head. "I told you, I am not a party person. Let's go back".

"No. We won't" Cherry snapped.

"Why? You are not also a party person. All you have to do there is drink" Leila commented in a sarcastic tone.

"But Still...Club is Club!" Cherry linked her hands with Leila's and started for the club.

-------

"Cherry, Don't get drunk with me." Leila took the wine, opened it, and poured a glass into Cherry's glass.

"No. I won't" Cherry leaned forward and snatch her drink from Leila. "I will call my boyfriend if I am drunk" Cherry poured herself another glass.

"Why are you not drinking?" Cherry asked sluggishly.

"I don't feel like. I kinda feel dizzy" Leila scrunched up her face.

"Why don't you tell me before? Are you okay?" A worried expression is written all over their face. "Why did you agree to go out with me if you are not feeling good?" Cherry exhaled.

"I am fine" Leila assured with a smile. "But what to do? I didn't get my days off these days. I even work late on weekends" Leila scoffed.

"But still... " Cherry mumbled. "You are no fun" Cherry grinned making Leila smile.

"Hmm... let's go back home. I already felt drunk. Let me call my boyfriend" Cherry said as she wiped out her phone.

"Alright... Call him. I need to go washroom" Leila said as she headed to the left side.

"What is wrong with me?" Leila monologue herself. She rolled up some tissue from the toilet paper dispenser and pressed the tissue against her bleeding nose.

As soon as she was out of the washroom, Leila Green's steps staggered. Beads of sweat formed on her forehead and she held onto the wall for support. Her knees turned weak and a dark cloud started to cover her eyes. She was about to fall to the ground but suddenly, a pair of strong arms firmly held her body on time and prevented her from hitting the ground.
