Sedora ran to the servant's quarter as quickly as she could she was tired whenever had to do work like this in her entire life all she wanted now was to take a warm bath .
but she knew she couldn't have one she was a servant here and servants are only allowed to have a bowl of water that they could use to clean themselves.
She got to her room and opened the door she saw Clara sitting on the bed and in thought, she entered and closed the door behind her.
Without saying a word she undressed and took a piece of cloth she dipped it in the bowl and began cleaning her body.
"Clara" Sedora called Clara jerked .
"Sedora you're here," Clara said and smiled.
"when did you get back?" She added.
"A while ago what are you thinking about, you didn't seem to know when I entered the room," Sedora said as she bent down to clean her thighs.
" I'm sorry I didn't notice I was lost in my thoughts did you get in trouble with the king? Clara said looking at Sedora who was now done cleaning herself Sedora walked to the pile of clothes on the floor and picked a simple gown to wear.
" no I have been careful not to get into trouble he just wanted me to fill up his bath which I did three times but he would complain saying the water was either too hot or too cold I'm really tired I can't complain being a slave isn't easy,"sedora said and came to sit close to Clara on the bed.
" he kept calling me elora i have tried severally to tell him I'm sedora not elora but he just won't understand the king is crazy"sedora added Clara chuckled.
" hush now you don't want to be beheaded for treason!! maybe you look like someone he knows or he's really crazy" Clara said in a low voice they both laughed.
"Enough about me what happened with princess rena and why were you crying earlier "sedora asked .
clara couldn't hold back a sob she held sedora's hands.
"Sedora I was raped"clara said as she cried.
" what? raped?by who? "sedora asked.
" it was Prince Raymond he's princess rena's stepbrother "she replied.
" why?? Thats horrible why would he rape you? He's the Prince he could get any girl he wanted why you? "sedora asked angrily".
"I don't know, "Clara said.
" did you tell princess rena? " sedora asked.
" she was there at the scene i cried and begged her for help but she just sat there sipping wine enjoying my pain it was the worst thing I have ever experienced, "Clara said and cried even more.
" I'm sorry Clara I can only imagine the hurt you're going through princess rena is pure evil she killed rose and Lila i hate her so much"sedora said with hate evident in her eyes.
" i hate her too sedora but you have to get out of here, i overheard her telling Prince Raymond that you are going to be killed tomorrow by the king, tomorrow is the king's birthday and you are a present for him"clara said with a worried look.
" sedora you have to leave tonight please "clara added .
" so soon i thought i had time to plan my escape why does is birthday have to be tomorrow? Clara, we need to leave now "sedora said and quickly stood up and began packing the little clothes she had into a sack bag she raised her head to see that Clara was still sitting.
" clara why aren't you packing get up and pack we don't have time please "sedora said she was done with packing
"I can't go with you, you can escape through the gate at the end of the stables if I go with you I'll slow you down, "Clara said and stood up she walked to where sedora stood.
" i can't leave you here please let go together please "sedora pleaded with Clara.
"take this it will be enough to get someone to take you to the human realm I'll join you once i find a way to escape and don't ask me where i got it from it doesn't matter now "Clara said as she brought out a small bag from the pocket of her dress.
"Clara I'm not leaving you behind you are the only true friend i have ever had i know we don't know each other that well but you have been nice to me since we met I'll never be able to forgive myself if i leave you here please come with me " sedora said pleading Clara sighed.
" fine I'll pack up"she said and began to pack when they were done they waited for all the servants to retreat to their various rooms.
Sedora went to check and there was no one around it was already midnight they came out of their room and closed it they went straight to the gate at the other side of the stable.
Sedora was the first one to notice the thorns on the metal bars of the gate.
" fuck we can't climb the gate it's filled with thorns Clara," sedora said with a frustrated voice .
" I didn't notice the thorns I'm sorry" Clara replied looking hopeless.
" what do we do now? " sedora asked feeling sad Clara scanned the area and saw some bricks by the fence she instantly got an idea .
" you see those bricks over there we can use those to climb over the fence join me let pile it up" Clara said smiling they start piling up the brick when they both heard a growl.
"did you hear that? " sedora asked
" I did " Clara replied they heard footsteps and the growl become closer in the midst of darkness they could see a giant creature with large horns and long fangs it had golden eyes running towards them fear trickled down their spine.
"run" Clara shouted and began to run ,sedora lost control of her body she was in shock she couldn't move with one swift move the creature shoved sedora to one side of the stables she screamed.
Clara stopped when she heard sedora scream she ran back to help sedora but before she could move the claws of the creature were in her shoulder she winced in pain
" ahhh" Clara screamed as she fell to the ground she touched her she could fell the a wet liquid trickling down she know it was blood her sight was blurry.
Sedora manages to get up and throw the bag in her hand at the creature.
it diverted its attention from Clara to sedora as if on cue the creature ran toward sedora she just stood there with her eyes closed waiting for her death then they heard a voice.
" madov " the voice said the creature halted and ran passed sedora to the owner of the voice.
Sedora opened her eyes and saw that it was king Louis he just stood there with his golden eyes staring at her his hands were now stroking the beast.
Sedora was breathing heavily she was washed with relief she quickly ran to where Clara was and helped her stand
"I see you've met Madov my pet, I have thirty like him in the walls of this castle, " Louis said still stroking the beast.
Sedora and Clara quickly bowed their heads to the king Clara was in pain but dared not to say a word.
" the last maid that tried to run from my castle was eaten by madov and his brothers love human flesh yours won't be an exception, "he said as he gestured for his pet to go and the beast left.
Sedora was the first to speak
" Your Grace we are sorry "she cried.
"I don't care if you're sorry take your friend inside I'll call the royal physician to tend to her wounds, "he said before sedora could say anything he was gone.
Sedora and Clara both walked to their room quietly when they arrived they open the door to their room and saw the king and the physician inside their room.
Sedora and Clara bowed and locked the door behind them
" sit" Louis said sedora helped Clara to sit on the bed the royal physician James who was still angry as to why the king would bring him to treat a common slave faked his smile at them.
He opened the box he had brought with him containing his medicines and herbs and was now tending to Clara's wound.
Louis just stood there staring at sedora he had already confirmed that sedora was not elora because madov had attacked her the beast he now used to guard his castle once belonged to Elora she was like a mother to them she raised them they would never attack Elora.
"If the girl wasn't Elora then who is she? Was she a descendant of Elora? "he wondered he knew Elora only had one brother Elon who was now the king of the elven kingdom and he didn't have any children but he knew the girl wasn't Elora then who was she but there was no need for him to find out the girl was human she looked too much like Elora same face he stared at sedora now that he knew she wasn't elora it was best he stayed away from her but he doubted if he could.
"your grace "the physician called .
Louis looked down he was tall the physician felt intimidated by his height Louis saw he was done with treating Clara
" treat the other one," Louis said turning to sedora
" no your Grace I'm fine I wasn't injured thank you for your concern," sedora said with a smile and bowed.
Louis didn't insist and left, the physician was happy he was leaving the place he hated being there the place reeked of dirt and low lives.
As soon as the king and the physician left sedora went to close the door Clara drank the herb that was given to her by the physician they both lay on the bed.
"Thanks for helping me Clara you put your life on the line for me no one could ever do that for me only my parents would I owe you my life Clara" sedora said staring at the ceiling .
" thank you for saving me too you also put your life on the line for me from today on were sisters," Clara said and smiled .
" I've never had a sister before I would love to have you as my sister thanks so much with you here I can bear anything life throws at me, "sedora said with teary eyes.
" me too," Clara said and with sleepy eyes" I'm going to die tomorrow Clara I'm scared," sedora said she turned when she didn't hear Clara reply and saw that Clara was already sleeping she smiled and wondered how she would die she didn't want to die but she also didn't have a choice she stayed awake thinking and eventually fell asleep.
