Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: Divergent Figures

'Ah~ It all makes sense. Of course, Areata doesn't care.' Lifeless, destitute to ideas of benignancy Eros impassively drolled, his heterochromatic gaze vitreous, burnished by a varnish of regnant apathy. 'After all, Christiaan's existence is equivalent to nought but livestock. He bore only one purpose, and now that he's completed his task, it's felicitous that he dismisses himself…If Areata was pregnant with a boy, perhaps she'd care. I mean, she'd likely have it killed in the womb to save time for the next attempt, but at least then, the girl would still require his presence, his seed.'

Eros inattentively continued, his mind despoiled by myriad execrable queries, for the youth cared not for the constitution of his perished peer nor the repugnant, invidious supercilious contemptuousness to which Areata conferred Christiaan's impetuous congé, Eros merely befell an effluvium variegated in hue, ethereal, vaporous and eidolon, with cambion offspring, sirenic recherché blessed by vessel forged of licentious porcelain. 'Who-what was that, the source of the miasma that abducted Christiaan?… I want to know. I need to know.' The polychromatic adolescent queried ad infinitum, cretinous to the poignant procession nomadic before him, for Areata and the Gemini partners had dissipated, divorced by the monolithic sentinel, shepherd to land of vehement torturous battle.

Absentminded did Eros progress, his mind seldom situated upon the versicolour ecclesiastical plane before him, ignorant, nascent to Gabriella's tepid grasp antecedently hyperborean, her calloused palms sudoriferous with a termagant, obstreperous amour, nor the encroaching presence whom voraciously hounded his departing visage, for the instant Gabriella's silhouette dissipated, bathed by an illimitable torrent of reverent pietistic effulgence, did Eros instinctually freeze, his hand anteriorly intertwined with marionette of pristine virginal porcelain chasmic in its discourteous severance.

Pestiferous apprehensiveness, akin to that of a wave, inundated the paralysed boy. His every thought, every motion lay bedded and bred by notions of nightmarish phobia. Myriad maggots squirmed aneath skin of snow as if the boy's carrion essence had attained sentience and desired nought but the singular expulsion from his reverent figure. Anaemic, flesh indisposed, Eros innately turned, his brain dissonantly echoing the cacophonous choir of his seizing heart. That was when he saw it, twain figures, divergent from the orthodox, sectarian domain.

As though birthed by darkness did they brew. Bearing shawls of obsidian eclipse, an impenetrable caliginosity that murdered the ambient kaleidoscopic radiance of the clerical domain.

Gemini girls.

The Right, demure in regards to height, sporting a stature corresponding to 183cm. Arms of mild pigmentation, diaphanously tanned, beckoned forth from severed sleeves, treacherously maimed. Her uniform lay mockingly blemished, with regnant sovereign spots of charred white spasmodically marring what should have been eternally virgin. The girl's skirt appeared severed, with myriad gashes stretching ostentatiously skyward as though pursuing a land hitherto untainted, supple thighs embraced by gossamery stitching of impalpable onyx breathed with every motion performed by the knavish girl, yet, Eros focused not upon such tantalising assets but features bloodcurdlingly heinous.

Hair of incandescent, resplendent orange intermittently flecked by streaks of yellow, as though the sun-given body barbarically cascaded down the beauty's back, untamed and gnarled, periodically burdened by ruinous branches and faithless leaves. However, such uncanny hue was not singular, for fibrous filaments appeared partitioned, impure and putrid, the antithesis of light, a nugatory void of darkness ravaged the left side of the beauty's rampant hair. Eyes mimesis mirrored such perverted colouration, the right incandescent, exalted, hallowed, with backdrop not of white, but sclera of amaranthine detestable twilight, while the left bore iris of execrable tenebrosity implanted atop sclera of radiant sun.

Lips of poignant threadbare carrion appeared arciform, treacherous, as though mocking, jeering the variegated boy. A curvaceous fang maliciously perforated plane of blood, dripping with an ill-disguised merriment, the girl was beguilingly beautiful.

The left bore face of seldom lugubrious melancholy, an antagonistic statuesque elegance to that of her treacherous peer. Flesh, as though formed from the moon's seraphic effulgence, stretched pellucidly upon a regal canvass bearing body exceeding that of 188. Her garments appeared stained by nought but sombre mirthlessness, drearily undamaged, celibate, eternally decorous, billowing atramentous gothic skirt of sovereign shadow fastidiously danced with the episcopal domain. Eyes of heterochromatic shade bloodcurdlingly refracted Eros's nerveless stare, the left a lucent wistful achromatic wax, plated atop sclera of regnant blackness, while the right perverted such crescent portrait, for iris of eclipse, lorded atop plane of white.

Mollified did such head of hair brew, lustrous, yet eerily glazed, sequestered to notions of intrusion. It listlessly populated the collar of the modest doll, divergent in hue, the left bearing Gemini achromatic pestilence while the right lay depraved by a void of darkness. Aperture of pristine cardinal carmine appeared ever more apathetic, dispassionate to the variegated youth's macabre plight.

Intrinsically did Eros's left eye flash, ebullient with an eternally unseen scintillation, yet, what he saw brought not contention nor inspritment to his tempestuously cacophonous mind, but connate chronic dread, for Gemini names, unveiled not upon translucid parchment, but crystalline archaic stone.

'What!' Eros fearfully exclaimed, 'What is this? What's going on?!' The boy fervently continued, rampant apprehension mocking his every thought, for twain eyes observed scratchings unknown, spasmodically disgracing the crystalline primal border, antiquated primordial etchings ignorant to ideas of circinate stature, consisting of but barbaric lines wickedly interwoven, yet, Eros paid such reprehensible symbols little heed, for twain status lay revealed.

The former progeny to the incandescent, solar-haired girl, while the latter lay offspring to that of lucent descent. However, Eros cared not for such detail, for blood instinctually glaciated, his mind inundated by but a single emotion.

Fear.

For who stalked before him were not espers but apostles.

Twin girls herald to geminate gods.
