Chereads / My quiet bodyguard / Chapter 35 - Chapter 35

Chapter 35 - Chapter 35

Ari kept holding a pillow against her face as she was laying on the couch.

Lyna on the other hand couldn't contain her laughter and her voice could be heard all over the house. "You are seriously acting like this over a kiss on the forehead?"

Ari raised her head a bit, staring at her friend viciously. "How many times did I tell you it's not really about that?"

Lyna came and sat beside her. "Then what was it about?" She suddenly moved Ari's hair behind her ear with her soft finger and got her face close, "Was it this?" She spoke in a cold and seductive voice.

THUD!

She was met with Ari's pillow on her face.

Lyna staggered back laughing hysterically. "Damn, he just did you like that HAHAHA!"

A vein almost popped from Ari's forehead and pillows started flying back and forth.

It took them half an hour to calm down and regain their thoughts.

Lyna could finally take a breath from her friend's barrage of shots and laid down on the couch next to Ari's.

Suddenly she had a weird sensation and stood up, realizing she was sitting on a piece of clothing.

The sudden movement caught Ari's attention and both kept staring at the jacket.

They met eyes as if they could hear each other's thoughts.

"Is he, coming back to get it?"

"How would I know?"

"Text him or something."

"He doesn't have a phone."

"A playboy," deducted Lyna with a weird detective pipe that appeared out of nowhere.

THUD!

Another pillow to the face.

Lyna took it off and said, "Should we call for him?"

"From the balcony? His is next to mine so If he's home he could hear us. But," Ari looked hesitant, "maybe we should leave it until tomorrow."

Lyna stared at her for a few moments.

As soon as a smirk was about to appear on her lips Ari's hand was already catching a pillow.

Lyna immediately retracted her smile.

"Let's go see if we can catch him from the balcony," she said.

Ari nodded slowly and stood up.

The two of them walked upstairs to the room.

Ari and Lyna peeked from the balcony, looking over at his side, but he was nowhere to be seen.

They looked at each other, wondering what he could be doing.

"Should we call him out?" Asked Lyna.

"And what, throw him the jacket?" Scoffed Ari at her friend's stupid idea.

Lyna pouted and looked away, and as she did her eyes suddenly picked up something.

"Hey hey, look," she said hurriedly, pointing with her head at the door of the house.

Ari looked over, and there was the shadow of Kale, sitting in his black car.

She suddenly noticed something, what appeared to be a little smoke.

She looked at her friend confused, "Is he smoking?"

Lyna squinted her eyes, "I can't tell," she started sniffing, "there is no smell even this close."

"Hmm," her mind wandered.

After a few moments, she felt a pair of eyes staring at her. She turned and found Lyna looking at her, waiting.

"What?" She asked.

"Hmm," hummed Lyna.

"What?!"

"HMMM!"

Ari became frustrated and turned to look for a pillow. "You sure you won't talk?"

"Ehem," coughed the scared Lyna. "I mean, what are you waiting for?"

"What do you mean?" She was confused.

"Go give him the jacket you dummy!"

"Oh, that."

Lyna gave her the eyes.

"I mean..." Ari was hesitant.

"GO!"

"Okay okay, don't shout," Ari ran to wear her sandals then left the house in a hurry.

Lyna on the other hand remained on the balcony to watch her from above.

Ari left the door to the house a little bit open as she took a step outside.

Her eyes looked everywhere to catch his facial features but the windows were tainted black, and could only notice yet again smoke coming next to his window.

She walked up to the car slowly and knocked on the glass.

It took a few seconds before she could hear the tick of the doors unlocking.

She opened the door slowly, then inclined her head a bit to look for him with her eyes.

And there he was.

His car seat was a bit more laid back than normal.

He wasn't wearing a turtle neck anymore, more a white shirt, a white shirt with buttons opened till the middle, making half of his ripped chest, and the fine middle line separating his refined muscles, catch her eyes.

The shirt was tucked into his black pants with a belt that has a nice glazing black, tight around his slim waist compared to his broad physic.

Her eyes unconsciously and slowly captured and engraved pictures in her mind, as she raised them slowly, watching his silver necklace fall nicely between his chest, laying on his attractive collar bones, then wrapped around his neck muscles.

Her eyes fell on his neck, and that was but a work of art and symmetry with his big apple in the middle.

Then, they rose to his jawline, to his sharp-looking face, to his sleeping eyes.

He was resting.

Ari had her breath taken away from her as he was standing there not saying a word for a few moments.

Seeing this beast of a man laying there unprotected while looking this desirable, looking this sharp yet gorgeous and handsome when his eyes were closed asleep.

No painter would be able to portray the majesty and grace from his face, the lust any woman would feel by a mere look at his body, or the excitement they would feel, knowing that behind that angelic face, was the cold temper and composure of a dangerous man, a desirable, irresistible man.

A man, Ari thought of submitting to.

A man, worthy to be his.

The mere sight of him like this made her mind run wild, imagining all kinds of scenarios. Some of them even Ari thought of herself as too innocent to think about, yet now they were making her legs tremble, and making her lower stomach quiver.

Oh Kale, what were you making of this innocent little girl?
