Kale kept staring at the roof of his room for a while.
How long has it been since he last slept?
He breathed out a heavy sigh.
He grew up his entire life watching his parents and his older brother.
Nevertheless, they were more than amazing characters.
They changed the world.
He did his fair share he could say.
The celestial imperial plain would turn upside down if anyone knew how he thought.
He only did his fair share?
This man right here was what gave most of them nightmares.
If anything his father was proud of him the most out of his brothers, just for his evil character.
Because it all came from that great man, his father.
Growing up in a household like that, with the combination of the perfect woman and the perfect man, Kale learned from an early age what a relationship should be like from them.
Watching his father, the man that brought chaos and fear into the entire universe, standing behind and kneeling before the only woman, his wife, and walking behind her as she held the empress's throne above her head.
And even as she stood in that seat she only kneeled for him.
She ruled with power.
He slaughtered.
Naturally, in such a household the three brothers grew up to understand the woman was the leader.
They were always behind.
Always in the shadows, whether it was advice to their women, or bloodying their hands over trifling matters for them.
They were the shadows.
They were raised to be perfect in every other aspect of life.
And strangely enough, it was also their mother who raised and trained them.
Their father was behind her even in household matters while he spent his days hunting and cooking.
At a younger age, they didn't understand.
Why was their father, who seemed smarter, stronger, more charismatic, and more fitting of a leader sitting behind their mother even in the house?
But they grew up to understand.
Why were they doing all of this?
Power, fame, glory, honor, riches, everything lost its taste after a few years in their father's immortal life.
What stood by his side all these years, was their mother's warmth.
That was the day they understood, why that man, their lazy father who grew so bored of life, only focused on her all day, giving her everything she desired, giving her the throne she wished for, and being her slave.
Only for her, to be his own slave.
But he never gave her such a throne freely.
They learned that their father was very strict with her too.
He almost killed her many times while they sparred.
He never joked around.
If she didn't take the sparing seriously she would die, if she didn't train enough she would die at another's hands, so with his father's character, it would be better if she died by his hands.
Yes, their father was such a terrifying man.
And only until she proved herself to the world that he stood behind her on the throne.
And even then she still went to him for advice.
Their mother kept growing, while their father led the way.
But it was never easy, he tested her more than her enemies.
And it was only until the kids grew strong enough, to at least not die against their father that he took the two older brothers on.
And even then, when they stood before such a man, they fell to their knees with a mere sight.
That was the day, their father thought them, that each word and action carried weight and consequences.
And asking to play with the hunter, was never a good choice for the prey.
That was the same training their mother went through, to survive the fight.
To survive being the prey of that cruel man.
That was the start of their change.
That was the start of them growing up to be men.
And that was when they started understanding their father's cold temperament.
He was the most dangerous man in the world, but the calmest, wise, and most disciplined man who only used such strength to allow no disrespect towards his family, especially his woman.
They also grew up to be like him, while also being possessive and overprotective of their family.
Only their family was in their eyes.
That was why Kale only bowed his head slightly to Ari's father, because he was soon to be family. Otherwise, he wouldn't care.
They lived for many years.
They fought on so many battlefields, wars, and worlds.
They lived their life filled with the blood of their enemies.
But for them to learn to hold a woman, to open their hearts to a woman, to offer their entire selves to their women, was their last hurdle.
The woman that will be there for them for eternity.
The woman, that will hold Kale's heart...
Even Kale's older brother had his doubts, about how could there be such a perfect relationship as their parents.
How could two people be so in synch, they never argued and they never contradicted each other.
It was a slave-to-slave relationship.
They both listened and obeyed the other whenever one spoke a word.
It didn't matter the circumstances, they always respected each other in such a way.
Kale's older brother found his soulmate and brought her home.
This soulmate light was created by their father, to find the soul his sons would resonate with.
This was only possible with the almost omnipotent powers of their father, who was the all-knowing of all dimensions and timelines.
From Kale's private talk with his older brother, it was watching that woman grow to be the person they would follow.
He said he didn't know why, but she had such a strange effect on him, that he grew to know as both love, protectiveness, and possessiveness towards his woman, but also extreme desire.
By the time these two brothers had the talk the evil nature of their fathers had already been implemented in them. In this family, everyone was bloodthirsty, even the new member.
Yes, the older brother was her slave and her knight, he didn't speak only when it mattered, but unknowingly the relationship was dominated by his side.
Kale could see that, and it was the same with his parents.
Why? How?
Even his older brother didn't understand.
It was a feeling, he said, to give her whatever she desired, but also, to just grab her, and to look at her and let her know she was the only thing he desired.
Kale shook it off back then.
He would know when the time would come.
And today he stood before his future woman.
He could see the light in her eyes, that of a person craving power.
He knew a bit by reading the memories of those around her.
She wanted strength to make her father proud.
But he could see in her eyes, her desire to trample on those who hurt him.
That was the first thing he noticed when he met her.
That crave.
That hunger.
Yes, this was it.
His blood boiled.
This young woman just started on her path, the same as when their father met his mother, and the same with his older brother.
It was meeting their woman while they craved this power.
But that spark was of course different than the many women who craved the same.
The thing that was different about her.
He could see it, but the others wouldn't know until she turned cold like in the restaurant.
That coldness... As if she already stood above the world.
"Sit with me," he remembered her cold voice.
Even when she was intimidated, confused by his eyes, she still spoke to him in such a way as soon as she thought of him as a playboy, as if she crossed him from her mind.
This was merely the beginning of what he saw in her.
Of why his blood boiled.
This woman will be the reason he would step on bodies.
This woman, will be the one he shall honor with the blood of his enemies.
He smirked, it was fun teasing her.
He knew why his father did so to his mother many times.
Kale grew to know there was something more fun than killing.
His new plaything.
If his little brother heard this he would be so delighted to be able to finally run away from this madman.
But with this fun, also came his cravings...
His craving for her pretty eyes, for her lips whenever she spoke.
It always felt in slow motion to him.
And the thoughts of just pinning her against the wall while she stared at him too much...
He felt like a devil many times throughout the day.
But again why would he feel bad, he was scarier than such lowly beings.
He was Kale, named the ******** *** ***, by those who lived to tell the tail...
Hmm, he smiled evilly.
What kind of serious expressions would she show him tomorrow at work?
He couldn't wait.
