Chapter 35 - 35 Feeling Watched

June 21, 2021

Baekyeon University

The female lecturer who was explaining the material in front of them was completely unnoticed by Ian, who was currently busy with his cellphone. He's not playing games or 'diving' on social media-he doesn't even have a social media account because he's too lazy to make one. No thanks. That is always the answer if he is told to create a social media account by his friends.

The thing he does now is read back the story about the gumiho he got a few days ago from Min Hyung. He's read it at least thirty times, if not more, since getting the link, and he's always wondered why the story in the story could be the same as Emma's past life. In addition, this weekend he managed to make an appointment with the author of the blog to ask him everything he wanted to know about the story. Luckily for him, the author gave his email address, which is still active.

Ian took a slow breath. His eyes moved to the right and then to the left, and he found himself in the center of attention among the female students, all of whom were second-year female students. It was unfortunate because last semester he had to fail this compulsory course, and even this course has a continuation for him in the current semester. But because he failed this course, he can only take the Advanced Course in the eighth semester next year.

"Alright, today's material is here. For next week, please make a group of five."

The announcement of the creation of the group upset Ian. He hates having to form a group if Yoo Ri isn't in the same class as him. The reason? Of course, because he will be the target of female students. If there is Yoo Ri, then she will be saved from the female students, who are like lionesses hunting for food.

"Hand over the list of members to one person today as well. And don't forget to include the number of your students and their classes," explained the lecturer, to which her students responded succinctly. "See you next week."

After the woman went out, the class immediately became rowdy because they began to look for the group assigned by the lecturer. And the female students who were in the class without hesitation immediately swarmed Ian and offered that the man could join them. They are all already like ants swarming with sugar scattered on the floor.

"Senior, pleas join with us."

"Don't. Better seniors join our group."

"Senior, just join us. Our group has men, so seniors won't be awkward."

Hearing the invitation from the younger class made Ian's head spin. They were all noisy because they spoke in unison. He needs help, especially from the students in this class. He looked at the students in the class, they all look unconcerned. It felt like he was being ostracized.

"Senior."

Ian immediately turned to the source of the sound. A student was walking towards him along with three other friends. It seemed that the student would be his savior, Ian thought so.

"If seniors are uncomfortable with these girls ... just join us. It just so happened that we were short of one person."

Ian cheered in his heart as the man invited him to join. "All right," he replied pleasantly, although the look on his face did not show his pleasure.

Ian's decision to join the group, of course disappointed the female students, who eventually disbanded. Ian's headache also instantly disappeared along with the dispersal of the female students.

"Thank you for asking me to join," Ian said to the person who had invited him to join earlier.

The student smiled. "No problem, Senior. Besides, I know you must feel uncomfortable with those girls," he said. "Oh yes, even though we are one class, it's not wrong to get to know each other. I'm Yoo Chan, Lee Yoo Chan." He held out his hand.

"Hwang Ian," Ian replied as he shook Yoo Chan's outstretched hand.

"Nice to meet you, Hwang Ian," Yoo Chan said with a smile on his face.

For some reason Ian felt strange about the smile that Yoo Chan showed, as if there were another meaning to the young man's smile.

The atmosphere of the Faculty of chemistry cafeteria is observed to be quiet at this time, which is not as usual, as it is usually filled with female students who want to eat, or just pay attention to the idol star of Baekyeon University, Hwang Ian. The silence of the cafeteria seems to be most desired by Yoon Hee, who is currently having lunch with Yoo Eun.

They both sat at one of the tables in the cafeteria. There was no conversation between them, because the two women were enjoying their lunch in a calm and peaceful environment. Until the silence between them was broken by a greeting from a man, which made both of them immediately stop eating.

"Hwang Ian?"

Yoon Hee and Yoo Eun are very surprised that Ian has greeted them. The two women looked around to make sure no one, especially the woman, was there and saw Ian greet them. Apparently, what the two girls did made Ian curious and he ended up following those who were paying attention to his surroundings.

"What are you guys doing?" Ian's question eventually got the two girls to stop with their little activities.

"Ah, we just want to make sure no female students see you greet us," Yoon Hee replied honestly and ended with a slight smile.

Seeing the smile on Yoon Hee's face, Ian couldn't help but smile. The young man also smiled at Yoon Hee. "What if I say hello to you?"

"You don't know? Your fanatics are so creepy. So, we want to be on guard so as not to get caught by them," Yoo Eun explained this time. "If we get caught," Yoo Eun instructed Ian to approach, and the young man did so, "we could be exhausted in their hands," she added quietly.

"That's how it is." Ian nodded understandingly while distancing himself again. "In that case, if you are disturbed by them, you can report it to me. I'm going to have my friends teach a lesson to the people who are bothering you."

Ian's words clearly made the two women blush immediately. How not, the figure who is very adored by female students because of her good looks offers things like that. Yes even though they were not sure if this young man in front of him was really going to do that or just his nonsense. But who cares, most importantly Ian volunteered to help them in case of trouble.

"Well, I'll go. Please continue your lunch." Ian waved his hand before he left Yoon Hee and Yoo Eun. The reason he greets them is because he wants to make them friends so Emma doesn't target them, especially Yoon Hee. For some reason, after first meeting Yoon Hee during the corndog sauce incident, he had a hunch that Yoon Hee would definitely be targeted by Emma, if the female gumiho crossed paths with the girl.

Yoon Hee immediately developed a smile exactly one second after Ian turned his back on her. It felt like when she saw Ian smile like that, it was like flying. Very handsome, really very handsome, although the initial meeting as well as their second meeting were not sweet meetings.

"Amazing, Hwang-ja who is known to be cold and stingy, can smile at you. Did you use a talisman, Jung Yoon Hee?"

The words from another woman made Yoon Hee and Yoo Eun turn their heads. The two women sighed compactly after knowing who had spoken earlier.

"Ck, witch," Yoon Hee muttered even with Yoo Eun composure while staring at the woman in front of them—Im Seo Rin.

"Why are you silent?" Seo Rin asked while looking at Yoon Hee. "Ah, it looks like you did use a talisman to get Ian to like you, huh? Then can I have the amulet? I also wanted to make Ian like me."

Yoon Hee just wanted to answer Seo Rin's baseless accusation, but suddenly she felt a strange air coming from behind her, like someone was watching her. He turned his head back, but no one was suspicious.

"What's up?"Yoo Eun asked curiously.

"I feel like someone is watching me," Yoon Hee replied.

"Who wants to keep an eye on a girl like you," said Seo Rin, who had heard Yoon Hee's words earlier. The girl chose to leave there.

"You're a shitty girl," Yoo Eun grumbled.

As for Yoon Hee, she was still wondering if she was just hallucinating that someone was watching her, or if someone was watching her. But to be honest, he's been feeling it for the last few days. He always felt that if someone was watching him, it made him very scared.
