Chapter 83 - Chapter 83 - Dancing

Lily's strength allowed her to throw the man with ease and quite hard at that, causing him to sail through the air and collide with the leader of the group— disrupting her from concentrating and sending her tumbling backward.

The room erupted into chaos without a second thought— everyone started to attack her at once with their weapons and abilities— but Lily was prepared.

She swiftly moved around the room— like a dance- and used her agile body to avoid attacks that may injure her or outright tank attacks that won't.

She was like a phantom dancing in the room— with each attack that came towards her, she counter-attacked without a second thought.

A mutant with horns charged at her from behind— a makeshift spear in hand— however, Lily anticipated the attack before it even reached her.

Sidestepping the incoming spear with grace, she made the horned mutant stumble forward due to missing— using this chance to grab the makeshift spear and break it.

Twisting her body slightly— she stabbed the spear into the human that was trying to attack her from behind— the spear piercing the throat of the human and blood gushing out like a fountain in return.

But she didn't stop— each of her attacks was closely connected, and after each action, she made another. She wasn't playing around— she was using the combat experience she had gained from training with S.H.I.E.L.D. and her natural instincts to control the situation.

As the blood gushed out, she didn't allow it to splash onto her— instead, she ducked, causing the blood to spray onto the people that were within the vicinity of it— disorienting them and even covering some of their eyes.

Flipping backward, she pushed her body upwards using her hands— her foot being used as a weapon in an upward motion; she slammed it against the body of another mutant.

The impact caved the man's chest in— causing him to go flying backward and into another group of people.

Getting back to her feet— she was forced to jump to the side as an incoming bolt of electricity almost caught her off guard.

The leader had gotten back onto their feet, and seeing multiple of their members already defeated or outright dead, they were not happy. Electricity charging through their bodies, they stomped their feet forward.

A wave of electricity jolted towards Lily— uncaring about anyone else it hit along the way.

Prepared for the incoming attack, Lily jumped up— her hand grabbing onto the ceiling and sticking to it with ease thanks to her reptilian capabilities. This allowed her to avoid the electricity that was traveling through the ground— instead, it affected their own members.

But all wasn't safe for Lily— the group was giving her no chance to rest as the horned mutant attacked again. Without a spear, he directly attacked with his fist— and he even got a solid punch in with his strength.

Unfortunately, it was nothing to her— her skin was harder than he could punch through— and while it did sting a little, it was nothing she couldn't overlook.

But she wasn't going to overlook him.

Twisting her body as she still hung from the ceiling, she swung her foot towards the man with a powerful spin kick— her foot making contact with the man's head as a cracking sound rung out upon impact.

The man's head twisted to the side— breaking under the pressure she had exerted with her kick— killing him on the spot.

The chaos seemed to slightly calm down as yet another of their members died, the leader calling out and giving a command in order to try and regroup and formulate a better-coordinated attack.

"Retreat, space out, and surround her! Don't attack until I say too!"

The group heeded the command of their leader and began to retreat— but how could Lily, who was now fully in her element, allow them to do something like that.

Her body moved fluidly as she dropped from the ceiling, her legs pushing off the ground the second they touched down, and with a literal pounce, she jumped onto the closest human.

Pushing the person down with force— Lily bit into their body, her fangs sinking into their flesh as she used her Vampiric Capabilities to suck the blood of the person.

Feeling the blood entering her body— she could feel her stamina and energy refueling and a sense of power coursing through her body.

To all that saw her— this was a sick and messed up scene. The blood of the person gushed out as she broke away and jumped back, leaving them dead on the floor.

The mutant with glass skin couldn't take it anymore and lunged at her with surprisingly quick speed, their crystalline skin glistering under the blinking lights.

Lily, however, was faster— and with the blood coursing through her body, she felt great. Turning to the direction the mutant tried attacking from— she slammed her fist into their body.

A shattering sound could be heard as she did— and the mutant's skin seemingly shattered into glass pieces that tried to pierce into her hard skin or fell to the ground.

Thankfully, her skin was harder than the glass— but she was still cut by some of them.

The strangest thing, however, was the mutant actually survived her attack— stumbling back with skin that was cracked but healing; they had survived Lily's fist.

'A porcupine?'

The ability reminded her of how porcupines worked— using their needles as a defensive mechanism to avoid predators that would try to harm them.

It was fascinating— but not enough to stop her.

If she couldn't kill the girl with her fist without being harmed, she could use another method.

But as she was about to use that method— another bolt of electricity came hurdling at her— using her distraction with the glass mutant as the chance to catch her off guard.

The electricity bolt caught her— just barely— as she spotted it coming at the last second and was able to move out of the way.

It did hit her hand, though— and upon impact, the electricity coursed through her hand— a numbing pain erupting as Lily groaned slightly.

"Shit."

The pain was annoying— but not enough to stop her, and she didn't stop.

The leader was annoying— distracting her was the best move since allowing her to sit unbothered would only result in more surprise attacks— as such, Lily had to do something.

Lily jumped back upon getting attacked— grabbing the closest human she could, she threw them at the leader once more. It was a simple method— but it was effective.

But she didn't stop there— upon throwing the person, she grabbed their weapon— using it to stab into the nearby glass mutant, piercing their skin with ease and ending their painful life.

Lily didn't end it there; she had to deal with as much of them as she could before the leader gained their footing again— and each time the leader did, she would throw another person at them.

In less than a few minutes, the room that was filled with over 20 people had gone down to only 7 people remaining, blood and corpses covering the floor.

The leader stood there panting— their attacks had failed time and time again, and they were clearly getting tired from overusing their abilities.

The leader had already realized that there was no longer a chance to win this battle— the person before them was a beast, a monster that wasn't even a mutant.

They had tanked numerous attacks, blades, electricity, crystal, and more— they had no chance to take them down.

All while killing countless of their own members— the realization was not a good one.

"We'll deal with you another time."

The scar-faced leader said as she stood back— calling out for her group.

"Retreat!"

She yelled to her group— giving the command to pull back from this fight they had no chance of winning.
