Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 - Mass Eating

After the FBI Agents finished speaking with their superior they now had to come up with an excuse to move the girl to their HQ in New York— with the most suitable excuse being witness protection.

The paperwork for this would be worked out by the people in the office, and all they had to do was speak to the sheriff and the girl to get her to move.

So the first step was the sheriff.

On the other hand, Liliana decided to get up from the bed and stretch her body a little— even though she didn't need to actually do such things.

She had been laying for such a long time that she no longer cared to rest— she wanted to act. But with the heat being rather high right now she wasn't quite sure if she should.

On one hand, she wanted to quickly return to the forest and eat all the things that were collected by her hive, while on the other hand, she didn't want them to notice her missing.

She had to eat the food herself— that is if she wanted to properly gain DNA.

As of currently while her hive could eat things for her— and she would benefit from it— they couldn't properly digest all the DNA which caused a certain loss between her and them.

This loss was ignorable on bigger creatures that she had a lot of— like a human— but it wasn't when the creature was smaller like insects or even plantation.

She had to eat it herself to properly gain the DNA, or she had to have her hive eat large quantities— which would be hard to collect and take time.

She hummed to herself as she tried to come up with a plan— or decide if she should go or not. That's when an idea came to mind.

Rather than going all the way to the forest to eat the things— she could order some of her workers to bring the material to a location outside of the town— that is much closer to her and much easier to eat.

This lowered the risk of being caught missing while also giving her the DNA she wanted. So with that in mind she ordered the hive to do just that.

This wasn't a fast process, but with all the units she had it wasn't very long either— taking at most an hour to bring all.

During this hour the Agents were talking to the sheriff and their personnel at the HQ— however, that was no concern to her as she wasn't fully aware of their conversations.

She did know however that they were planning something from how much they moved around— and the places they went.

Around an hour later she slipped out from the hospital through an empty back door and hallway— being able to get out relatively unnoticed thanks to her shifting form and lack of people in the area.

Sneaking underground through a hole she had her workers made in an alleyway— she joined up with the tunnel system she had made and walked to the food.

As for the hospital— she left a few of her hunters there in order to notify her if anyone was coming so that she could sneak back quickly.

It didn't take long before she was before a mound of dead insects, small animals, and flora. So much lay before her that they created a pile that was somehow bigger than her body.

However the pile wasn't made up of one thing in particular but a mixture of other small animals, insects, and flora, the most abundant being insects.

Without a second more to waste she began to eat.

Rabbits, foxes, raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, badgers, tortoises, turtles, salamanders, snakes, frogs, newts, skunks, ants, beetles, cicadas, aphids, cockroaches, and much more.

Those were just some of the creatures she had eaten and collected DNA for.

Sadly, the insects didn't provide her with a lot of mass or DNA, meaning she would need to eat a ton of them in order to fully develop their capabilities, but she did get a lot from what she had.

The animals, while small, still provided her with abilities as well.

Those weren't the only things she ate though, as she also ate a ton of Flora in order to build up her mass and see if she could get any information from them.

Alder, Cottonwood, Willow, Walnut, Maple, Ash, Box Elder, and even Cacti.

Just eating all of them took her around an hour, thankfully she was able to eat an endless amount without feeling full otherwise she wouldn't be able to do it so fast.

Once she was done, she couldn't help but sit back against the wall and relax for a second— after all she had just eaten more than two times her own weight in food.

She allowed her body to digest the information— feeling her mass building up within her and her body evolving due to the new information she had stored.

She was growing— stronger— better.

She was becoming what she was always meant to be— superior.
