Chapter 38 - Circus Monster

"Get in there!" A soldier shouted, as he threw Kure into the cell by her clothes, Peki caught her.

"Holy shit, like, what the hell happened?" Niku asked, feeling bad for Kure.

"...I genuinely... thought I'd die..." Kure said, quietly. "I miss him... I miss pepper..." Kure said, as she started to cry.

"I know... We all do..." Niku said, softly.

"I don't know about that." Kujo said, standing against the wall.

"Huh?" Niku asked, thinking she misunderstood.

"Maybe it's because I haven't been with him as long..." Kujo said, with a sigh. "But I don't really care as much if he's alive or dead or whatever, I just hate that I'm in this situation." Kujo said, as she looked up at Niku, revealing light blue eyes.

"Your eyes... they aren't red anymore, why?" Niku asked, feeling suspicious about Kujo.

"That's apart of my ability or curse or whatever... Not only does my fire change color depending on my emotion, but my eyes do too." Kujo said, looking out of the cell.

As she looked out, she noticed someone approach their cell. "Well, Kure was it?" The man said, with a pause. "You did an amazing job out there, I've heard some people call you 'The Red Headed Devil'." The man said, smiling at the girls.

Kure looked up at him as she layed on the floor with tears in her eyes. He wore a white coat with a black shirt underneath, and a blue tie, nothing seemed to match. His hair was blue with purple hair going in front of his ears, he also had a few strands of red hair on the right side of his face, and his eyes were pink. "What do you want?" Kure asked, not in the mood to talk.

"I simply wanted to congratulate you on your victory, Kure." The man said, as he bowed. Kure gave him a weird look. "But also... I am Kohp, I run this little fighting tournament." Kohp said, smiling at the girls again.

"You are a pepper, are you not?" Polly's voice asked, though her body looked asleep.

"Who said that?" Kohp asked, thinking he must have missed whichever girl spoke.

"Polly." Polly said, as Kohp heard her voice behind him. Kohp turned around to see a clear Polly smiling at him as she floated upside down.

"What the?" Kohp asked, feeling surprised. "How did you get out?" Kohp asked, thinking that the hand cuffs must have broke somehow.

"This is my natural ability, not something Zeus cursed me with." Polly said, as she flew back into the cell, going straight through the bars, and into her body.

"I should consider that breaking out, but I'll forget it in honor of your team's recent victory." Kohp said, feeling unsure who else has natural abilities.

"Is that, like, all you want? If not then get to the point." Niku said, feeling impatient and annoyed.

"Fine, fine." Kohp said, crossing his arms. "I'd like to ask the eleven of you to join me, you can become mine." Kohp said, with a smile, trying to look cool for them.

"Now you're just pissing me off..." Niku said, quietly. "We're not for freakin' sale, get lost." Niku continued, rejecting Kohp.

"But you're all strays aren't you? You need someone to protect you, I can do that for you." Kohp said, asking again.

"We can protect ourselves, thanks." Niku said, sarcastically. "Hey! What do you, like, mean 'strays'?!" Niku asked, feeling more annoyed.

"You have no male pepper to take care of you, no one to call your master. You're all just lost puppies with nowhere to call home." Kohp said, giving them all an ugly grin.

"Maybe we don't have a home anymore, but we'd rather no home than whatever you could, like, give us." Niku said, trying to get on his nerves.

"Hmm... I see. Oh well, continue in your battles then, but I'll gladly take you in whenever you change your mind." Kohp said, as he turned to walk away, but instead stood there a moment.

"And just to let you know, by being mine, that means mind and body, you will not have free will, I can easily take that away." Kohp said, as he pressed the mute button on their cell and walked away.

"What a bitch." Niku said, feeling disgusted as she watched him walk away.

"I hate the pepper's like him." Muma said, looking down.

"Yeah? Well, most of them are like that." Peki said, stating the obvious.

"Whatever, let's just let Kure get some rest, she needs it." Niku said, helping Kure onto a bed.

A soldier walked up to the cell. "Kumo, you're up, get your ass out here." The soldier said as he opened the cell.

"What? Aren't we supposed to know ahead of time?" Niku asked, feeling like it's unfair.

"Must have forgot. Anyway, move it." The soldier said, looking at Kumo.

"No..." Kumo said, refusing to move, as she sat against the wall.

"Kumo!" Niku exclaimed, quietly.

"Tch." The soldier muttered, growing annoyed. "If you don't come out, I'll make you come out." The soldier said, threatening Kumo.

"Kumo, come on, we all agreed to do what they say." Leia said, hoping Kumo would listen.

"I... just don't care..." Kumo said, looking sad.

"Alright, that's it bitch." The soldier said as he walked into the cell, and grabbed Kumo by the hair.

Kumo's eyes widened. "N-No, please s-stop..." Kumo said, becoming scared.

"What's that? You're begging me to stop? Right after I gave you the option to come easily?" The soldier said, as he got in Kumo's face. "I don't think so." The soldier said, as he began to drag Kumo out of the cell by her hair.

"What do you think you're doing?" Kohp said, appearing in front of cell to see the soldier dragging Kumo.

"Well, sir, it's her turn to fight, and she-" The soldier said, trying to explain what's going on.

"I don't care! No soldiers are allowed to handle them with such little care unless I say so. After all, they are my possessions, it's rude to break other people's toys." Kohp smiled, as he looked at the girls.

"R-Right, sir. I'm sorry, it won't happen again." The soldier said, feeling a little confused.

"Good, now carry on." Kohp said, as he proceeded on with his day, walking past the cell.

"Get up, girl." The soldier said, as he looked at Kumo on the floor, shaking. "I said get up." The soldier said, again, getting annoyed.

"Daddy..." Kumo mumbled, while she layed on the floor.

"Fine." The soldier said, as he grabbed Kumo and picked her up.

"Not... my hair..." Kumo said, as she began to lose her balance.

"Just follow me." The soldier said, as he turned around and began walking. Kumo followed, though slowly.

The soldier took Kumo's cuffs off, though he didn't notice, snow began to appear in the room.

"Pick whichever you like, there's plenty of stuff here." The soldier said, as he took Kumo to the room full of weapons. Kumo stood quietly, shaking. "Alright then..." The soldier said, awkwardly. "Just go through the tunnel when they call your name." The soldier continued, as he left the room. Kumo began to walk into the tunnel, deciding not to choose a weapon.

"Good morning! Welcome to yet another exciting day here in the Indigo Circus Tent!" The same voice from Kure's fight said, from a loud speaker. The crowd roared with noise, excited for another fight. "Today, we have a friend of The Red Headed Devil, her name is Kumo!" The voice yelled, sounding genuinely excited. Everyone starred at the side that Kumo was supposed to come out of, but Kumo hadn't appeared. "Ahem!" The voice said, trying to draw Kumo's attention. "I said... her name is Kumo!" The voice said, mimicking his excitement from the last time he said it. Kumo appeared slowly from the tunnel, and the crowd cheered, excited to see if Kumo us anything like Kure. "There she is! And for her opponent, you know him well... his hunger never stops... he's slowly decaying... Iiiiit's... Z!!!" The voice yelled, with pure excitement.

"Z? Who's that?" A Dark Elf asked a Demon.

"Z is a Zombie, no one knows his name so everyone calls him Z." The Demon replied, as they watched Kumo continue walking through the sandy arena, slowly.

"I thought Zombies were fake?" The Dark Elf said, thinking the Demon is pulling his leg.

"That is ridiculous, you've gotta know by now that anything is possible." The Demon said, shaking his head.

Z walked onto the sand, and looked up to see Kumo walking, Z made a growl and began running at Kumo.

"Hey, there's snow falling." A Human said to Demi-Human Dog.

"Snow? The whether doesn't change here, idiot." The Demi-Human Dog replied.

Kumo's Snow Fairy appeared, dancing around Kumo, as Kumo walked with tears in her eyes. Snow Fairy saw Z running towards them, and used a snowy gust of wind to blow Z back.

Kumo looked around, she saw all the people in the stands, people of all races cheering for the fight.

'Why do they enjoy this?' Kumo asked herself. 'This... is just painful... I hate this...' Kumo continued thinking, to herself, as she watched Z get back up and run at her again. The ground began to freeze around Kumo's feet, and slowly spread out, freezing the ground surrounding her. Kumo looked up, and saw Kohp watching the fight, smiling at her. 'Why aren't you here yet? I need to see you... pepper...' Kumo thought, beginning to become more emotional. Suddenly, a blizzard formed around Kumo, it was almost impossible to see her through the blizzard.

"It looks like this girl can control ice and snow! Does Z still stand a chance? It seems to me like we might see the end of Z!" The voice said, trying to keep the interest of the audience.

Z dodged the gust of wind this time, then Snow Fairy shot an icicle into Z's foot, Z didn't seem to notice.

"Even with a damaged foot, Z just moves along, look at him go!" The voice shouted, as the crowd roared. "This certainly is the coldest the Circus Tent has ever been though, I hope you brought a coat, audience." The voice continued, as the crowd watched the fight.

'Circus Tent? Is that what this place is called?' Kumo thought, as she stood and watched Snow Fair shoot icicles at Z. Z got close to Snow Fairy, Snow Fairy poked Z, and instantly he froze, then Z's frozen body shattered into a million sparkling pieces.

"Holy shit! That thing just destroyed Z with a simple poke!" The voice screamed, in surprise.

The crowd started chanting Kumo's name, as Snow Fairy disappeared, and Kumo turned around to go back through the tunnel.

"Now you're being easy." The soldier said, as Kumo walked back into the cell.

"Kumo, how'd it go?" Niku asked, wondering if Kumo's okay.

"I won, I guess." Kumo said, as she sat down and leaned against the wall. "This place is called the Circus Tent, just to let you know." Kumo continued, as she closed her eyes.

"Circus Tent?" Peki questioned, as she thought.

"That's a stupid name." Niku said, crossing her arms as good as she can with the cuffs on.

"I knew it sounded familiar." Peki said, starring at seemingly nothing.

"What do you mean?" Kutsuyo asked, as she quietly questioned to herself what Peki is looking at.

"This place, The Circus Tent, is what the arena is called, the planet we're on is known as Indigo." Peki said, as her eyes moved as if she was reading something.

"So, how far away are we from Daddy?" Muma asked, worried that pepper may never be able to make it them.

"Well, I have no idea where pepper is, and the distance from our Earth... I also don't know." Peki said, unable to answer Muma's question.

"Why don't you know?" Niku asked, annoyed that there's so many unknown things.

"Because, this planet is a mobile planet, it goes from planet to planet to pick people up so they can watch the show. It's called a planet but it's more of a moon." Peki said, still moving her eyes like she's reading.

"How do you even, like, know this?" Niku asked, not understanding where Peki's getting the information.

"I'm an Android, I can just search the internet for answers." Peki said, thinking they already knew this.

"Well, whatever. That's useful, I guess." Niku said, trying to think of what they could do to help pepper get to them by using the internet.

"Hello." Kohp said, as he appeared in front of the cell and unmuted it. "I've simply come to personally inform you who'll be fighting in my Circus Tent next." Kohp continued, with a smile.

"Alright, spill it." Niku said, getting impatient.

"Kumopoleia will be fighting next." Kohp said, as he looked at his wrist.

"Got it, you can leave now." Niku said, trying to get him to leave.

"What if I don't?" Kohp asked, wondering what she'll do.

"I'll break these damn cuffs and beat the shit out of you. Now fuck off!" Niku yelled, hoping he'd leave.

"Fine, I'd rather not cause trouble." Kohp said, as he muted the cell and left.

"Ugh! I hate it here!" Niku shouted, as she layed against the wall.
