After hearing some of the foreboding words coming from her mother's mouth, Priya could help but pause. Her heart began to pound in her chest as the sense of unease continued to grow. Nevertheless, she did her best to maintain a level head and speak calmly.
"Uhm, is everything alright? I don't really understand what you're talking about. I noticed that things have changed around the mansion and that we replaced the majority of our servants but… I'm just confused. Also, don't worry about what happened to me while I was aiding the war effort! I was actually looking forward to telling you both about everything that happened and that I achieved."
To her shock though, those words didn't seem to soothe them but rather elicited a rather negative response. Her mother's face scrunched up in derision while her father practically spat in disgust.
