News broadcasts, radio stations, hundreds if not thousands of active online streams. The moment where the information appeared, the moment where it was cut, everything was bombarded against the wall of Hosua's psyche.
All kinds of information correlated with the Apocalypse, in all kinds of languages, from morse code, all the encrypted radios, the nuclear code that was transferred stealthily through numerous generals as the war against the unknown force unfolded.
And because of the influx of foreign wavelengths subjected to Hosua, the surroundings time that Hosua perceived was different thanks to the actively contracting time and space.
What had been believed to be a full hour of constant torture, was merely one minute in real life.
'Saturday! The day of the Apocalypse is Saturday! But what's the date??'
Continuing to hold onto the chaos head on, Hosua tried to filter the time of incident, the order of events, and much more vital information regarding the Apocalypse.
But it was not an easy task.
If one were to illustrate, it was as if Hosua got thrown into a battlefield three meters below surface where the wet and stink trenches reside under the ear-ringing explosion in the form of artillery shells barrage like it was a rain under a dark and roaring cloud.
It was mind numbing.
It was excruciating.
'The date, where is the date!??'
After one hour had passed in real time, Hosua acquired the date of the Apocalypse.
The morning sun went through the small windows on the upper part of the garage doors, plastering box shaped shadows of light.
What was left from the tsukumogami was a weary face, and an exhausted soul. Her battery was quite low, and her stomach was rumbling like a former domesticated cat that was suddenly thrown into the wild.
"..."
Hosua felt despair for the first time.
"The Apocalypse is tomorrow…"
She bit her lower lips in frustration.
Her deranged gaze were set onto the floor.
"00:01, the midnight, it's where it all starts into motion…"
It was 4:03 in the morning.
Hosua only had 19 hours and 57 minutes to prepare until midnight.
Everything was too overwhelming, Hosua thought.
"... The earliest sunrise on this side of earth is 5:51." Hosua stood up, glaring at the smoking gate stabilizer in front of her. "Whether it's a sign of the upcoming tribulation, or the effect of my spying into the future, it doesn't change the fact that something is changing drastically.
"What am I saying, talking to myself to ease the weight forced onto me…" Hosua gazed at the ceiling. "If I were Yoo Hana, what would I do?
"If I were a human, what would I do?"
Sluggishly, Hosua took the nearby fire extinguisher that had always been prepared for extra caution, and sprayed the dry chemical foam onto the abomination of machinery, all before disassembling it all into numerous trash bags, ready to be disposed of.
"Yoo Hana will soon be awake in approximately 46 minutes." With lifeless eyes, Hosua washed her hands on the sink. There, she noticed that her current expression was more similar than the time she hadn't gained her warmth. "What would a human do in this situation…
"No, something is off." Just like that, the usual light had once again permeated in her gaze. "Perscythe, the horned lady who gave me the message, is she even related to Lothair?
'Even if humanity would still exist after 40,000 years, they still wouldn't be able to create an infinite amount of energy. The signal for the Partial Divinity is a one-use only!
'That very resource is their last straw, otherwise they would have no reason to lose to the calamity unless they were facing something far more unstoppable than what the first Apocalypse had to offer.
'The fact that humanity has the chance to progress means that the Apocalypse is not a true world ending scenario. This also gives an idea that every Apocalypse is different in terms of scale and its destruction.
'Just like an alien invasion, the first Apocalypse is only the scouting party!' Slowly but surely, a desperate yet determined grin appeared on Hosua's face. 'This Partial Energy can be considered an end-game resource, while the first Apocalypse is something akin to the early level boss stage!
'Well, not quite.' She sneered. 'It all depends on how I can process this high quality resource into something that can nullify everything that the enemy has to offer.'
"This is it… This is a risky gamble made by that horned lady.
"If I were to assume the scenario, Lothair planned to give this role to someone else. Then there is Perscythe, who possibly came to the conclusion that it's impossible for a human to utilize this behemoth of conceptualized philosopher's stone.
"There might be a chance that the real messenger is supposed to be someone else, and the time-stopping lady is a third party in the middle of it all.
"Then there is me, who was chosen out of all odds. A machine with a soul, out of all the possible candidates.
"But, what is the qualification?"
Hosua caressed her chin.
After reevaluating the conversation she had with the horned lady, she remembered one important key word.
"Tsukumogami…"
The horned lady probably had a better understanding of Hosua than anybody else on earth. If that was applied to every person on earth and supernatural entities based on the compatibility with the role to face the first Apocalypse, then some noticeable trait came into mind.
A combination that only Hosua possessed, and not anybody else.
"I see…"
The relentless calculation power of a machine, and a soul.
Ten minutes later, the 24-hour convenience store was closed.
Hosua was there, standing still behind the cashier register, lifeless and emotionless from the outside. All while menacingly chomping on the breads from the store shelves on both hands.
If one were to get closer to her, they could hear her murmuring the words "Gwood, swoo gwood~" constantly for the whole time.
'So this is what raspberry jelly bread tastes like!'
On the inside, Hosua had been using the Soul Kaleidoscope from the Etherbrain nonstop, exploring the inner ins and outs of her soul.
At the same time, she had been trying to bombard the SaveHumanity7777.com website with relentless combinations to find the right password.
'This website doesn't have limited attempts, as if it was made to be brute forced by crackers.'
All of that could be done automatically with numerous strains of code within Hosua's head, so she didn't really put much effort beside making the logic gate on how the cracking pseudo-software works.
90 percent of her focus went into the exploration of the soul.
After a half hour of exploration, Hosua had finally grasped the key information to access the storage of the soul. Which happened to be a rather complex trip of finding the right angle to be able to perceive the slight gap within the disparity of extremely small atomic foreign space.
'Yeah, no wonder it took humanity more decades to find out about this.'
There was a slight hesitation.
But she managed to get in.
Thanks to the Etherbrain, many kinds of information within the vicinity of the mini vessel was given to Hosua's mind and interpretation.
It was a new dimension of space, a private concept of space that was solely connected to the existence of her soul and nothing else. There was no sign of creation nor decay, as the constant of time stayed relative in the side of the consciousness outside of that hidden realm, detaching everything inside while preserving the law of physics on the outside.
Within the stress and pressure of bearing the weight of humanity, Hosua found a fascination with the nature of her own existence.
In front of the tiny vessel that was connected to her consciousness, was a stable source of energy akin to the existence of the sun.
'The question is, how do I mend and harness this?'
By questioning, one would become sensitive to the past and surroundings.
Hosua then commanded the exploration vessel to turn around.
'This tendril-looking thing is connected to my soul.' Subconsciously, Hosua had somehow led this wriggling tentacle into the storage of the soul. 'Looking at the information that the Etherbrain gave me, it's something akin to a rope made out of twisting numerous one-dimensional vibrational strings?
'Each of the strings is constantly emitting a field that overlaps one and another, but at a unique characteristic yet stable pace, and the fields emitted by the individual frequency are reacting to one and another based on the real-time data given to me.
'This is conceptually similar, albeit mathematically different, to the infamous Strings Theory!'
What is the Strings Theorem?
It is a theory which proposes that the fundamental constituents of the universe are one-dimensional 'strings' rather than point-like particles. What we perceive as particles are actually vibrations in loops of string, each with its own characteristic frequency.
Until now, the accuracy of the Strings Theory was leaning to something questionable and even ditched as a whole.
Who knows that it became the foundation of what human race would use to store a literal sun in their body.
'Scary, the scale of the zoom of the Etherbrain is scary…'
To be able to pry through the walls of reality and into the core resource of what makes everything in the universe, such a feat was too incomprehensible even to the most brilliant minds within the 21st century.
'A, it seems like now that I'm aware of this microscopic tentacle of my soul, I can input my thoughts to control it.'
Hosua exited the soul storage and went into the roots of the soul tentacle, only to find that the soul itself consisted of the same twisting strings but in a way where all of the fields and frequency of vibration makes up the entirety of the soul.
'I guess I don't need to ask Lothair about the mechanism of the soul anymore~'
With that comprehension, Hosua was able to detach a couple of the twisted strings and eventually morphed the end into a grabber.
She then used the vessel as an eye to guide the numerous grabby tentacles into the soul storage. Before she knew it, she was able to draw the energy of Partial Diviny, all with her atomic and numerous grabby hands.
'Fufufu, let's call this finding as Soul Tech.'
[Soul Tech Level 1: {Soul Tentacle} acquired]
'Oh, neat, so GAP can also do that too.'
Hosua only had 19 hours and 15 minutes left until the Apocalypse.
