Chapter 1 - Find a job or get married

Stella wore wide blue jeans with a colorful shirt, she had caramel-colored hair with a feathered haircut.

She was standing in front of her dad's shop. She opened the door of the shop. The shop was full of everything we needed. One by one customer came and bought goods from her.

Finally, she sat on the chair placed in front of the table and took out her diary from her bag, and started writing in it,

"I have only two big dreams. The first to be a serious, successful writer...and the other, to settle on Seychelles."

She raised her eyes and began to think, Where is that, you might ask?

She again writes in her diary, Only those who are truly interested...and who will make an effort, will know where to find it.

That's where I want to stay until the end of my days, but for most, that is a terrifying thought. She was smiling while writing that, one can dream for a few selfish moments it creates an opportunity...to escape that everyday interruption...She was writing in her diary when suddenly someone knocked at the door.

She became very nervous when she heard the sound of the door because she was lost in her thoughts. She looked at the door. Alexander was standing by the door with his hand and was staring at Stella with great affection. he wore a blue shirt, with a side-parted hairstyle and a dimple on his left cheek.

Alexander was living in her neighborhood. He loved Stella very much and wanted to marry her but she did not like him.

Stella looked at him angrily and said: " Ah! Zender...you'll give me a heart attack."

She closed her diary and said: "what do you want? Don't you have anything else to do?"

He said: "Zender? seriously, Stella? How much longer? for the last time...My name is Alexander"

He entered the shop smiling and sat by her table saying "what are you doing?"

She replied: "I'm writing a diary.."

Alexander: "What about me? Am I in your diary?"

She looked at him in surprise and said: "Why would you be? I write about my dreams."

He said smiling: "Please...pretty please, write about me too. Hopefully, you'll dream about me soon."

Stella said tiredly," what are you saying? Why would I dream about you?"

Alexander said:" Shh...the penny is starting to drop, that's it

She got up angrily and said, "do you want egg or bread?"

He said getting up from the table" Oh, no...nothing today."

He went close to Stella and clasped both his hands and said: "Mother will be joining us tomorrow. It's going to be very different."

She said angrily, "I am not good at riddles. Spit it out."

He said smiling: "Okay, the short version is...When we come over tomorrow night, we will bring flowers, chocolates, and other gifts."

Stella asks him in a gesture, "but why?"

He replied," It was a surprise, but tomorrow night we'll talk about me and you...together forever...In a marriage."

Stella looked at him in surprise, laughing, and said, "You and me?"

He said " yep...it's going to be beautiful."

Stella asked her questioningly," Does my mother know about your plan?"

He looked at Stella lovingly and said, "Of course. When we spoke to her, she suggested we come over tomorrow."

She looked at him with shock and said " Have you all lost your minds?"

He cleared her misunderstanding and said "Not at all. I'm a catch and your father is a respected businessman in the neighborhood."

She looked at Alexander angrily and said, "Wait here, I'm coming now."

And she ran home furiously.

Julia was her younger sister, having light blonde long hair, wearing a lilac color shirt with wine color of skinny jeans, and blue eyes.

She was looking for her shoes from her shoe closet. As Stella entered her home. Julia said to her.

"Oh, Stella...what are you doing at home this time of day? Anyway, where are my other shoes?"

As soon as she heard this, she laughed and ran away from there and said loudly, "Mama?... Mom?"

Stella's mother had a Havana brown hair color with a shag haircut, wearing an apron on her dress and whisking the egg as soon as she heard Stella's voice, she raised an eyebrow and looked back, and started working again.

She came to the kitchen and asked her mom," Alexander and his mother are coming to propose tomorrow?"

She fixed her eyes on the egg and began to speak. "That's right...what's wrong with that?

She replied upset," Mom, you don't understand...It's Zender. he thinks he and his family will be asking for my hand tomorrow...Now call his mother and tell her it's a mistake.

Her mother replied, walking over to the fridge, "Why tomorrow night was my idea, to prevent you from sitting on the shelf...and his name is...Alexander.

Julia entered the kitchen laughing after hearing their conversation and sat on the chair.

Stella looked worriedly at her mom and said, "Mom, tell me you are kidding.it's a joke.

Her mama looked at her with a series of looks and spoke, "It's no joke, and I am not laughing. How long have we been talking about you getting a proper job, but you never listen?"

She looked at her sister and said: "I have a job, I am a grocer."

Her mom looked at her, laughed, and said:" You can't be a grocer if you only spend two hours a day in the shop, Tonight we'll give our blessing and you'll marry Alexander. Then you'll live happily ever after. Your father doesn't like you working in the shop alone, but he'll never admit it. You walk around with your head in the clouds, not aware of what's going on around you. Writing isn't a proper job and settling in childless...Ah!"

Stella was stubbornly listening to all the words of her mother and spoke, "The place is Seychelles"

Her mother held the frypan in her hand and turned back and spoke: "Yes, as you said...Seychelles...Oh, you know...I am so exhausted", and she held a plate of eggs in one hand and a plate of bread in the other and spoke: "Bring the tea to the table..."

As her mother came out of the kitchen, she looked at Julia and Julia looked at her mother and they winked at each other.
