Marnu left with his mother upstairs, took her to his room, and sat her down. And immediately went to fetch the healing ointment. He opened it, squeezed a small blob onto the tip of his three fingers, and massaged his mother's checks with them.
"Marnu, you shouldn't have slapped your father. He is your father, not an ordinary person" she beseeched her beloved son. The king was still his father regardless.
"To me, he is just an ordinary man and a foolish man at that. How dare he raise his hands on you, forgetting that I'm still alive. I made a vow when I was five to protect you from him, and that's a vow I'm happy to live with."
Mrs. Gana remembered that fateful day. That day that she almost lost her life, Marnu saved her life. That was the same day that he made a vow to protect her with his blood.
She patted his head, a sweet smile forming on her lips
"Oh you, oh my son. The love I have for you is beyond love. I love you so much, don't ever forget that in a second."
"Yes, Mother, I won't." He replied sweetly.

*The Jagan Family*
"Prita! Prita! Where are you?" Cunchi called from a distance.
"Yes, you called," Prita replied dutifully.
"Guess what? I bought something for you on my way home. Hope you will love it" Cunchi handed the shopping bags in her hands to Prita, but instead of receiving them, Prita stared at them for a long duration with a hard gaze. She walked away from him, astonished him with her reaction. Shocked, Cunchi followed her into the room and locked the door behind him.
"Prita! What's wrong with you? Your mood today is annoying."
"My mood? Did you just say my mood is annoying? Maybe if I wasn't pregnant, I would be completely fine. Maybe if I wasn't the eldest wife, my mood would be awesome. Maybe if I wasn't the king's wife, my mood would be perfectly okay." Prita let out.
She sat down, but not facing him. Folding her arms, she patted one of her feet on the cold surface of the ground.
"Tell me, what's wrong Prita? What exactly happened in my absence?"
"Your family is what happened. Your mom, Haje, and Bindiya. Especially Haje and Bindiya. Those two greedy power-crazed animals. Can you believe what Bindiya said?" Prita was barely pausing for breath as she recounted
"She said that if I don't give birth to an heir, she would gladly give birth to one. Moma threatened with the same but this time telling me that if I didn't, she'd kill Barbie and Suhana--including the child I was carrying. I don't want to lose them, I don't want to..." Prieta sobbed softly. Then she burst out into full-blown tears. Cunchi could only console her. He held her tight, giving her his shoulder to cry on. After an hour of tears, she became calm and Cunchi smiled at her.
"Remember when I promised you that no one will ever hurt you? I meant every promise I made to you. Trust me on this: I don't care if you give birth to a girl, all I want is just a simple, happy family. I love you to the moon and back--don't ever forget that. As for the people who have taken it upon themselves to make you sad, they'll pay for hurting the queen" He kissed her lips and hugged her. Then they both laugh at the crazy scene of today.
