Chapter 7 - 7 The beach house

I parked my car in front of a small but fancy restaurant after a lot of convincing from the girls that they are so hungry and they had to have a break. I pulled down the car, possibility that am also hungry and that I also needed a break from driving and sitting here for the past three hours. We got out of the car and walked inside the restaurant. This place looked a little empty because of the few houses around and few people it's like a small stop for tourists I guess. A round bell rang once we opened the glass door and some eyes turned towards us but a few seconds they turned away. I breathed out and walked in.

"Welcome to sunshine restaurant" a young lady said smiling widely holding a book on her right hands.

"Thanks" I said as she walked us to one of the empty seats

"What would you like to eat?" she asked and I looked at the menu as well as Ana and Alexa.

"Pasta and salads" Alexa voiced out before us "and a banana strawberry smoothie"

"Me too but a mango juice" Ana said

"A banana smoothie" I said and she took note and left to get our orders

" A banana smoothie? Really?" Alex asked as Ana chuckled.

"Am driving" I said and she rolled her eyes

"Alexa, she is right beside you know she doesn't do well eating during trips" Ana backed me up

"Its three hours" she insisted

"Enough to make a mess" Ana insisted

"Girls, it's okay. It's just three hours and we have food waiting for us at the beach house" I explained lightening the mood and it worked.

Half an hour later we were done and we were back at the road singing our voices out but it was for a while before we got bored and Alex went to sleep. Actually she sat at the back while Ana joined me at the passenger's seat. If not that I was driving I also could be asleep seems like Alex and I we are quit alike in so many ways but obviously not in some others. Like there was this time my parent got me a cute puppy on my twelveth birthday and Alex refused to come to our place like never. She hates dogs so much she says taking responsibility of a dog is tiresome and she hates being tired like she is one lazy girl I have ever meet.

Also the most understanding person ever, that's why I always wonder why she doesn't understand that I like Logan so much I can't live without him. Anyway, I will tell you more of our differences later.

"So how this beach house looks like?" Ana asked and I was prepared to give her the long story. Actually they have never visited this place like never. Since my grandparents passed away we rarely comes to this place but it was one of my best places when I was a kid. That's before I met Alex and Ana. Mostly I grew up in this place, my parents had no time for us even after my brother was born they still couldn't stop with their businesses and trips so I kinda grew up with my grandparents until I was six. And that's when we moved to the city and my brother brought us up that was when he was thirteen and my younger brother was three and half. He lost most of his teenage years just to make sure we had a parents love. I remember one day when my brother called him dad and that day he cried, tears of joy. I always kinda feel so bad that we are his responsibility but I will never have any other caring brother than he is and for that I love him with all my heart. Sometimes I don't feel …. "Denise!" I jolted back and smiled nervously at Ana

"Am sorry I just zoned out" I said "I just have so many memories in this place"

"Its fine, if you want to tell you know you can share it" she asked and shook my head

"Maybe some other time, but am sure you gonna love this place. You will forget all your problem just by looking at the house only." I told her

"I hope so," she murmured but I heard her

"Is everything okay?" I asked her worriedly

"Yeah everything is fine" she said faintly but I waited for her to continue and she did "just that mom have been in her room for days now and she doesn't want to talk with anyone. My sister and I have tried to talk to her but she just …" tears had already began to flow down

"It fine Ana, I know your mother is going to work it through" I told her and she smiled painfully "and you, you will be fine and I will make sure you have the best time while we are here" Ana's dad died a few months ago and I know she is going through so much. I loved how she was close to her parents and I wished I also had that but I was also happy for her. Her dad was a good friend to me and Alexa. We had the best days with him that sometimes I called him dad without knowing and apologized for it so many times but he always said that he loved it. But I don't have the right to tell you much about him but I am gonna say he was the best dad ever.

"Thanks Denise, am so happy to have a friend like you" she said smiling and wiping her tears

"Now that Ana is back you can keep me busy with a story" I told her and we laughed.
