Chapter 1 - Prologue

It was night at the temple of the supreme monsters. Three humans passed through the arch gate. One was a knight, the others were a witch and an archer. The knight looked around. The temple looked old and rather creepy. The witch shivered, she seemed scared. The archer stood brave as she looked around. The knight crouched down to one of the tombstones he saw. Engraved on the stone was "Kippler Opal". The knight knew this name. He stood up and looked at all the other tombstones. Each one reads the name of a human who tried to kill the monsters here. The witch stared at one of the tombstones, it read "Marie Mindscape".

"Mother," The witch mumbled and turned away. The quiet was then broken by a growl. The humans looked up to the top of the temple's roof. There were four shadow figures. The knight narrowed his eyes, not being able to see what they were. The four figures dropped down. three landed perfectly in front of them, while one threw a punch at the knight. The knight flinched.

"Forcefeild!" The witch yelled, protecting the knight. The creature stepped back. The knight glanced over at the witch then looked back in front of him. The four figures were darkskull soldiers, all female with dark armor, black fur and different colored eyes. These were the soldiers of the last darkskull who guarded the territory of the temple. The archer readed her bow. The knight took out his sword as the forcefield went down. His blade shined a green color. The soldiers took out their weapons, with that they started to fight. The knight managed to make a cut on one of the soldier's arms. She screamed as if it burned. The other soldiers glanced over in concern. The cut steamed, she backed away from the knight and held the cut. The other soldiers rushed over and stood in front of the wounded one. The archer aimed for one of them. The knight held his sword out front. Then there was a sound of footsteps from inside the temple. The archer put down her bow and looked to the temple doors. The doors opened to Grim, the last darkskull, he stepped out and looked at them. The knight backed up a bit. The soldiers retreated into the temple. Grim gave a horrifying glare at the three humans. Grim noticed the sword, he seemed slightly threatened.

"Where did you get that sword?" Grim asked. The knight didn't respond. Grim found that insulting not to respond, he motioned his hand. The ground shook. The archer and the witch fell down. Skeleton hands ripped out the ground and grabbed them both. The knight quickly reacted and fended off the skeleton hands. He looked behind him. The witch and the archer were being pulled into the ground. The knight went to them but a ring of fire formed around the knight. He stepped back from the fire. He looked at Grim. The skeletons buried both of them alive, their screams became muffled but soon faded away. Grim laughed. The fire was put out in an instant. Two skeletons grabbed the knight and held him in place. Grim stepped down the stairs of the temple and approached the knight. The knight struggled, he dropped his sword. The skeletons forced him on his knees. Grim soon stood in front of the knight who looked down at the ground.

"Tell me your name," Grim said towering over him. The knight still didn't respond. Grim sighed, he turned his back to the knight and started to walk away. One of the skeletons went to kill the knight with a dagger.

"Teleportation," The knight mumbled. He was out of the skeletons grasp, he grabbed his sword and charged at Grim. Grim turned back hearing the commotion but he couldn't react in time. The knight plunged the sword right through Grim's stomach. Grim gasped, he looked down at the sword. The wound steamed slightly. Grim fell to his knees. The knight pulled the sword away. The skeletons fell to the ground soon as they became lifeless again. Grim looked at the knight. The knight looked at Grim with pure rage. Grim fell to the ground. Most of his body disintegrated into ash, all that was left was his skull. The knight had fled the scene. The temple doors bursted open, Sukido, a woman with dragon-like features, had a worried look.

"Grim!" She called out but froze when she saw Grim's skull laying on a pile of ashes. She rushed over to it, she fell on her knees and picked up his skull. Tears formed in her eyes. She held his skull close to her chest and cried. There were many footsteps from behind her, it was the other supreme monsters. Jepna, a woman with kitsune-like features, put a hand on Sukido's shoulder. Sukido looked at Jepna. The supreme monsters looked at each other.

"He was the last Dark skull," Sukido stood up, she held Grim's skull out. There was a moment of silence between all of them. A werewolf stepped forward, he held his hand out where a ball of light floated above his hand, it was his soul. Sukido's eyes widened. They all did the same, offering their souls. Sukido placed the skull back on the pile of ashes then stepped back. The souls met in the middle, four souls formed into one. The four monsters started to slowly fade. Sukido stepped back more. The big ball of souls shined brighter. Sukido turned her head away. It then got dark. Sukido looked back. The four of the supreme monsters were gone. There was a small noise. Sukido looked down. There was a small creature curled up where the skull of Grim and his ashes had been. Sukido walked over slowly, she crouched down and narrowed her eyes. It faced her. Sukido's eyes widened. It was a baby darkskull. Sukido picked it up, stood up, and held it in her arms.

"Hey there little…guy," She said. It was a little darkskull boy, he had black fur, his skull was fresh, and his eyes were purple.

"You look so much like Grim, except for the scar over your right eye socket," She told him. He tilted his head at her.

"Of course you don't know who that is, but you soon will," Sukido rubbed his head. The baby darkskull flinched.

"How about I name you Rim, short for Grim," She lifted him up. He just stared at her. She held him close again.

"Rim Darkskull," She said, then walked back into the temple with Rim in her arms.
