"Everyone to your positions!" Liam immediately started giving out orders and all of his familiars began to move, "Jiri, poison cloud!"
The huge python obliged as she sprayed a dense cloud of poisonous purple fog at the massive army of monsters, momentarily blinding them. With their sense of sight taken away, the tree monsters stumbled through the fog in confusion.
However, the poison didn't seem to be taking any effect on them at all.
'Just as Odin said, Jiri's poison doesn't seem to work on plant-based creatures', thought Liam when he saw the situation in front of him.
He wasn't worried at all though, as this was all still part of Odin's plan.
[ODIN: Master, everyone seems to be in position]
"Mmm, alright", said Liam with a small nod. He then turned to Kai besides him and said, "Light em up, Kai"
"Kyuu!" Kai responded before charging up a massive fire blast and unleashing it right into the center of the poison fog.
KA-BOOOOM!
As soon as the fire came into contact with the fumes, the flames spread and caused a huge explosion. Multiple tree monsters were incinerated on the spot while the rest suffered heavy burn damage. Naturally, the Demonic Fernil Sporix hadn't gone unscathed either.
"GRRYYAAAHHH!" the massive creature let out a deafening cry of anger and pain as it glared at Liam. It growled once more, signaling for the remaining tree monsters to attack.
"That's it...come at me just like that!", Liam urged them as he charged forward cutting a path straight through them. Kai and Razor covered his back while the others wrecked havoc amongst the remaining forces.
Safe to say, it was a complete massacre and soon all that was left was the Demonic Fernil Sporix, waving its gray tentacles frantically around itself.
VWOOOSH!
"Whoa!" said Liam as he narrowly dodged one of the tentacles, "I think that's enough. Jiri, paralysis! Kai, Sky, take care of those tentacles!"
All three familiars seemed to understand almost immediately. Jiri stepped in to stop the monsters movements with her paralyzing gaze while Kai once more set fire to the huge creature, allowing Sky to severe it's tentacles with her silver arrows with ease.
"Come on, Razor" Liam said to the fanged monkey besides him. With nothing more in their way, Liam and Razor rushed forward and began slicing up the base of the huge spore at incredible speeds.

SLASH!
"GRYYYAAAH!" the Sporix cried out helplessly as it was being torn to shreds, gore and spore dust soon covered the ground in a disgusting mess.
Once they felt they had done enough damage, Liam stepped back and ordered Ralph to deliver the finishing blow. The massive boar gladly charged and rammed the massive Sporix, sending it crashing to the ground.
CRAAASH!

"Whew...I could get used to this", Liam wiped the sweat off his brow with a content smile as the system bombarded him with more notifications, "And it's all thanks to you, Odin. If it weren't for you telling me that Jiri's poison was explosive, I never would have thought to use it like that"
[ODIN: I was just doing as you requested, Master]
"If you say so", Liam shrugged it off as he sat down on a dead tree trunk and said, "I'm just glad we leveled up so much today"
[ODIN: I regret to inform Master that you haven't completed the task assigned to you by the guild]
"Heh? Oh right! The herbs!" Liam suddenly remembered why he'd come to this forest in the first place. With all that had been going on, it had completely slipped his mind.
"Hmm...but now I can't remember where I left those flowers I found before", Liam complained as he scratched his head.
[ODIN: I have managed to locate the fox gloves you require, as well as various other valuables, Master. Please open up the top of the dead Demonic Fernil Sporix]
"Wait what? At it's top?", Liam asked in confusion as he walked over to the bulging purple top of the dead Sporix and sliced it open with his sword.
"Oh my...", Liam muttered in surprise.
Inside the mushroom top were sacs of different kinds of herbs, heaps of weapons and armour and even a stash of silver and gold coins. This small fortune must've been the possessions of the unfortunate herb collectors and travelers that had been victim to the attacks of the tree monsters.
Liam debated in his head for a moment whether it would be right to take all this for himself before he decided that it would be better to take it than just leave everything here to waste.
"Blu, do you think you could store all of this for me please?", Liam asked his little slime.
Blu simply bounced up and down before walking over and swallowing everything up in one gulp. Liam petted him affectionately before he turned to the rest of his familiars.
"Thank so much for today, guys. I really appreciate it and I promise I'll find a way to make it up to all of you", Liam thanked them wholeheartedly, "For now, everyone but Sky, Blu, Seph and Jet return and have a rest. It's about time we headed home"
Liam hadn't noticed before but they had spent the entire night in the forest and the morning sun was now peeking out from behind the trees.
'I wonder if Momma's noticed I've been gone for so long', Liam pondered to himself, 'Nah, probably not'
Shaking off his thoughts, he started trekking back home with Sky watching over them up above, Blu and Seph perched happily on his shoulders and Jet jogging along besides him.
