Raziel slowly opened the book and started reading. If her mother sees her awake at this time of the night when she was supposed to be having her beauty sleep, then she was done for. She would rant about how dull her face is and how pale her cheeks were because she wasn't having her beauty sleep and then all the topics about marriage and all. Sigh! There was no freedom in this house at all. She can't do anything without her mother's permission. Not even to eat.
She focused on the book she was reading and something caught her attention. She had randomly selected a book from May's shelf. It would have been smarter if she had checked the name of the book first before picking it. Now, it was too late. She stared at the name of the book and tears almost spilled from her eyes.
"100 days to seduce a vampire," she read aloud.
She blinked and then double-checked the name again. It was tragic how she was trying to run away from vampire images only to steal a vampire romance book from her sister's shelf. So tragic.
She wished she had never saved the king that day in the forest. If she hadn't done that, then she would be sleeping peacefully even if it was in the cabin. Now, she could neither sleep nor close her eyes. If she doesn't read this book, she won't be able to take her mind off the images and if she does read it...only God knows if her situation would get worse or not. Maybe she should just try reading it. Since it's romance, it won't be that bad. She would only read the romance and leave the other part.
Raziel flipped through the pages and found an interesting part as her page flipping came to an end. "You have..." She squinted at the name of the disease written on the book. Oh, so there are humans in their book too? Hmm, interesting.
Thank goodness it isn't so bad. In the novel, it was exchanged from a doctor to a heroine. "Omo, it isn't so scary," Raziel said to herself. It's a good thing the vampire romance book is working on distracting the images from her mind.
How ironic that she was trying to get rid of the vampire images in her mind but here she was, still enjoying the vampire book. With a shrug of her shoulder, Raziel continued to enjoy reading the story. Time sped by eventually. She was fully immersed in the pages of the book, unaware of the pair of clear golden eyes outside of her glass balcony window.
...
He continued watching her. She was unmoving on the bed and her face was almost buried inside the book she was reading and her eyebrows were knitted together. Valhoon chuckled as he kept staring at her. Does her tiny neck not hurt? She has been in the same position for a while now, with her neck slightly bent and the book almost pressed to her pretty face.
Perhaps she does not care about the pain or she was too absorbed in the book to notice the pain. It's late into the night already. Why isn't she sleeping yet? Oh, so because she wanted to read a romance book she stayed up this late.
He observed her silhouette. Her petite body was wrapped in a huge blanket up to her waist and her breast were poking through the thin nightgown. He wondered how they would feel in his palms. The strap of the nightgown was slipping down, revealing a round shoulder and her delectable collarbones. Her peachy lips were slightly opened and he knew they would be as soft as he was imagining.
His Adam's apple rolled up and down and a primal desire was brought from within him. It was uncalled for as she wasn't doing anything only reading. But the strap of her nightgown was slipping down and revealing half of her breast.
"I look so stupid," he cursed himself. His life curved into a slight smile as he ran his tongue over his fangs. She was still reading. Now would be a perfect time little bunny. His hands were itching to grab her tiny waist and bring her closer to him. So close that not even a sheet of paper would be able to come in between them. He smiled more at the thought of finally possessing her and having her as his own.
How delightful would it be to have her on his bed day and night? He was going to lock her in his world and treat her like the little princess that she was.
"I'm behaving like a teenager boy dying in heat," he muttered with an annoying shake of his head. He shifted his attention back to her. Her eyelashes flicked and there was a slight pout on her lips. With the earplug on her ears, there could be an earthquake outside and she would not be aware of the destruction.
The king shifted his gaze and stared at the sky. It was deep into the night and morning was fast approaching. It has been an hour or two already since he came here. Gaspher would be raising hell and looking for him by now.
Why hasn't the girl slept yet? If he hadn't met her before, he would think she was a vampire who doesn't need sleep at night, and who doesn't care about the slight pains in their body. He was sure her neck and body would be hurting like crazy from the position she has been on for a long while now. Just as his gaze shifted back to her face, he froze. Staring directly at him were a pair of widened grey eyes.
