Chapter 17 - 17

"What were you two up to?" Teresa asked as we stepped out of the closet.

"I was trying to get him to impregnate me," Bella admitted like it was nothing.

I immediately began trying to prepare myself for what Teresa was gonna do in response. I knew I couldn't take her in a fight, but maybe she would take me out quickly. Bella would put up a much better fight, but if I had to bet on Bella, or an overly angry Teresa my money would always be on Teresa.

"You know there are bedrooms upstairs for that kinda thing, right?" Teresa asked and looked at us in a weird way.

"Wait, did you hear what she said? She tried to get me to impregnate her, like with sex," I said. I wasn't sure why, but I needed to be sure that she fully knew what happened.

"Yeah silly, I heard her clearly. I'm honestly surprised she didn't jump you the moment she saw your new eyes, I could feel her desire from where I was standing," Teresa said.

"And you're okay with that?" I asked. I knew I should leave it alone, but it blew my mind.

"Look at it this way love, she doesn't love you or even physically find you attractive. She just wants to use you to pass that ultimate symbol of power to her offspring. We all have goals, and in the future I'm gonna need her to accomplish one of mine. So not only am I okay with it, I tried to give you the chance to help her out," she said.

Teresa was truly the most unique person I had ever laid eyes on. I just closed my mouth and shook my head slowly.

"Why did you interrupt us then, he had finally given in," Bella said with her arms folded in front of her.

"He held out on you? Did you show him that amazing body of yours?" Teresa asked. She looked genuinely surprised.

"Yes, as embarrassing as that was to do," Bella said.

"Wow he must really love, or maybe fear me, because you have the body I wish for," Teresa said.

I had been wondering if the body she showed me in the room was what hers really looked like or was it part of the illusion. Knowing it was really her body made me regret holding out on her.

"So where did you end up?" I asked and changed the subject.

"Oh yeah, the rest of this house is amazing, let me show you," Teresa said and pulled me by the arm as she hurried up a staircase.

Teresa led us on a brisk tour of the rest of the house, as she headed to the place, she really wanted to show us. She finally stopped at a pool and waved her arms as she spun around.

"The place has its own hot spring!" she said excitedly.

"I prefer to bathe alone and indoors," I said.

"Well, now that we have this, you will never be doing either of those ever again," Teresa said, matter of fact.

"So, wait, you wanna live here?" I asked.

"Well yes, your place is too small. I'm homeless, and Bella just mooches at the Mages Guild until they kick her out. We all need a better place to live, and besides it's free," Teresa said.

I looked at Bella and she was nodding her head in agreement. She did have a point; my little two room house was too small for the three of us.

"Okay then we are gonna need food and other supplies, aren't we? I'm not wearing clothes from hundreds of years ago," I said.

"Oh, I didn't even think about the trip back and forth to this place, that's a deal breaker for me," Teresa said. She looked suddenly devastated.

"Actually, I noticed a travel seal out by the shrine. We could just use that to get to town. The Mages Guild has one that anyone can use. That will get us there and back in seconds," Bella said.

"Alright then, let's go to love's house and grab some stuff. We could also stop by the tavern for a drink, I wanna get wild to break this place in later," Teresa said.

We followed Bella to the seal she was talking about, and she teleported us to the Mages Guild.

"The tavern is a lot closer to here than my place. Let's stop there first, plus I wanna see how it's looking these days," I said.

We started walking toward the tavern until I noticed the green light I had seen at the house. It looked like green specks of light that gradually grew into the shape of a person.

"Can you both see the green person as well?" I asked without looking away from what I was seeing.

"Oh, cool a glowy guy," Teresa said

"That's another spirit, but he's a condemned spirit. You can see the chains he wears," Bella said.

"Can we free it somehow?" I asked.

"Aren't we still working on helping the last spirit?" Teresa said and pouted.

"We can't free this spirit unless we kill the person that cursed him. Only they can break the curse any other way," Bella said.

The spirit began pointing toward us.

"Do condemned spirits attack people usually?" I asked and placed my hand on the sword on my back.

"No, but we will," Someone called from behind us. We turned around and noticed three men standing behind us.

"Oh no, three goons, how will we ever overcome these odds," Teresa said sarcastically, while pretending to be afraid.

"Is the spirit working for you?" Bella asked the guy closest to us.

"More like working with us," he said.

He was shorter than me with spiky black hair. Everything else about him was hidden by a large white cloak and a black demon mask. The man on his left had long blonde hair. The man on his right was bald.

"So, what the hell do you want with us? Be careful when you speak though, I carve out loose tongues," Teresa said.

"We're just here for that fancy sword he's carrying. Give it to us and the three of you can live to see another day," he said.

"Come take my fancy sword," I said and stepped forward. I drew the sword and held it ready to strike.

The two men at his sides drew their swords when I did, but that didn't move. The guy in the center put up his hands in surrender.

"Not here, but we'll definitely be seeing you again," he said and the three of them vanished.

I turned around quickly, and the spirit was also gone.

"So' we're definitely gonna run into those guys again, right?" I asked.

"Not if they're smart, so yes we certainly will," Teresa said.

"I was wondering how long it was gonna take for that sword to bring us unwanted attention," Bella said and waved her hand in front of my sword.

It vanished and I lost my mind.

"Where did you send my sword? Bring it back," I said, I flailed my arms wildly as I spoke.

"Calm down simpleton, it's just a concealing spell. To bring it back just hold out your hands and say reveal," Bella said.

I did as she said, and the sword appeared in my hands.

Can we go get wasted now, I still have a big night planned," Teresa said and slapped me on the back.
