[Author's Note: Set himself wrote this, so I'm putting it here so you can understand his side. At least as much as any of us mortals can. As I've been told time and time again, we cannot comprehend them]
Humans once called us gods. In their ancient religions and mythologies, my kind are still gods. It wasn't just humans that mistook us for omnipotent, all-powerful beings.
The Rogare called my kind Fein, and they named me Fie. The Arsians called us Skylous and they named me Roton. Every mortal race in the universe identified us as gods and worship naturally follow, so I couldn't call the humans less intelligent than the other mortal species. Sure, they had a penchant for violence, but they were hardly the most violent mortal race I had ever come across.
I do fear for you in that regard. If you leave that backwater rock of yours, pray you are strong enough to resist the tyrannical races.
The mortals call me god, but they couldn't truly comprehend what I am. Can you imagine what it would feel like to have a body made completely of light? A body so vast that it was larger than any galaxy your people have seen? To have a body so powerful that you could snap your fingers and destroy a planet? A solar system? A galaxy? The whole universe, if your brothers and sisters didn't stop you?
We do not grow old. We do not change. We exist outside of the time frame. The past, present, and future mean nothing to us. When this universe, at last, comes to an end, my kind will find another one. Or we will go to a point in time before it has ended. I have already seen the end of your universe.
If we do not wish ourselves out of existence first.
That is the simplistic nature of what we are, since you could not comprehend us. That is the trapping and beauty of your mortality.
Would Athena be right? Would my influence destroy your world? Perhaps. Athena would have you believe that I present chaos, while she upholds balance. The truth is I am progress. Change. Athena is stagnation incarnate.
Under her, what hope would you have to advance beyond your home world? Her stagnation would keep you where you are. I would allow you to evolve.
