Xavier had been so drowned in his thoughts and avoiding Liana, he didn't notice her sneaking around to the dungeons.
"Morning princess, your back again" the guard greeted her.
She smiled, "Morning Alfred, how are you today".
"Doing fine Princess," he said opening the gates for her.
She walked in handing him a little basket the maids had prepared for her.
Xavier had been so closed up, maybe it was because of his mother's illness, Liana thought. But since the day they came down there, she had kept having dreams.
She moved to the vasles who were still asleep. The mother woke up opening its wings she moved sitting down next to it.
"Hi, there mother Vasle" she smiled tapping it. "I know it's early today but I couldn't sleep again last night, and am having those dreams again" she looked up at her as it purred, "yes I know if they keep me up they are nightmares, but the more I have them the more they feel real," she said.
The last time she felt like that was when memories of Trinidad had flowed into her, but now it was scarier.
She sighed, "You know I could tell Xavier but am worried about him, he has been so quiet that am afraid my problems might add to the ones he has, since we came I have been feeling so useless"
"It's because you have put all your focus on the wrong thing," the mother Vasle said.
Liana looked up at it with widened eyes, "You can talk?"
The mother Vasle laughed and she moved back when the others laughed too, "Yes we do, but only a few can hear us" she answered.
"But I never used to hear you speak, why now?" she asked getting up.
"You have been spending too much time with us that a bond was created, now like the king, queen and crown prince, you too can hear and speak to us" she explained.
Liana smiled, "This is so great, maybe you will give me some answers"
"I don't think we have the answers you're looking for Princess, I have been listening to everything you said for the past weeks and only have one answer," the mother valse said.
"And that is?" she said.
"YOU," she said.
"Me!?, how is that an answer," she asked.
"You are the answer to all those problems and questions you have in your mind" she answered.
"Me?" Liana repeated.
"Yes you, the answer to the queen's ailment is you and so it is to all that is appearing in your dreams," she said.
"But how am I the answer to all that, I don't even know the disease she's suffering from and these memories or dreams feel so foreign but it's like it was me in them all. It's all so confusing it scares me" she said.
"You don't need to feel that way child, but be warned if you choose to take that path you might never see your lover's face again"
Liana frowned, "Now what are you saying, it's more confusing now. All I want is to help the Queen and also my love"
"Then you need to stop fighting those dreams and let them flow back into you, then you will have the answer to other problems" the creature answered.
Liana sat back down. "Am more depressed now"
"Then sleep my child, maybe it will help"
Liana laid down next to her little friend, letting the mother Vasle cover her with her warm wings. Closing her eyes she let the warmth drown her into sleep.
