"its mother likes you," said Xavier. Liana watched as the mother & son cuddled. She licked him and then pushed him onto her lap.
"She does, that look early made it feel like she didn't" she smiled at the two.
"Go closer and touch her again," he said.
Slowly she moved to the two and the mother opened her wings pulling Liana closer to them. The little vase jumped into her arms and the mother covered them with her huge warm wings.
Liana giggled, "This is warmer than my two special mantles" she let out.
She froze feeling its chin lay on top of her head, "what is it doing?"
"Thanking for bringing its child back," he said.
She turned to face it and fell into its huge chest hugging it tightly.
"Why do the vasle protect the door to that place," she asked when they returned to their room.
"They are strong and can easily destroy the damned in case they try to escape. Vasle were the beasts that father created to help him be able to control and protect those gates" he said.
"Has any soul ever escaped with them protecting it?" she asked
"Once but the Vasle destroyed them before they could reach the surface," said Xavier.
They heard a groaning sound at the door and Xavier moved to see what it was.
He chuckled opening it wide, the little vasle walked in and ran straight to Liana on the bed.
"Oh, it followed us back" she laughed holding it.
"It likes you," he said closing the door.
"But its mother won't like it, we have to return it," she said rubbing its chin.
He smiled watching them, "He would not return if her mother didn't let him"
Liana smiled, "I guess your mother let you come here to play, but how did you find me?"
"That's the other thing about them, their sense of smell is unbeatable," he said.
"What should we name him?" she looked up at Xavier.
"It came to you so I think you should do the naming," he said.
Liana frowned trying to think, "Hmm, let me think about it"
After breakfast, Xavier left to go attend the morning meeting with his father.
Liana walked to the queen's chambers with her little friend walking beside her.
The maids and others kept staring at it with fear.
"Mother" she called entering the door, "What happened I heard you got sick overnight"
"Did you have a goodnight? "she asked.."
"I should be the one asking you that, you look so pale" she touched her face with worry on hers.
"Am sorry Liana, I won't be able to spend time with you until I get better "she said.
Liana held her hand," Don't be mother, get better first then we will see what to do "she said.
The Queen smiled closing her eyes. Liana stayed by her side as she read some books, feeding her & helping her get comfortable until she fell asleep again.
Xavier and his father came in later to check on her.
"How is she now? "the king asked the physician.
"We are still not sure what is wrong, but for now she is stable "he answered.
"But she was fine yesterday, how come she's sick now "Liana asked.
The King sighed glancing at her.
"It's an old sickness, once in a while it comes but until now we have never known what it is, "he said.
They left her room so she could rest, they had lunch together and Liana dozed off on Xavier's shoulder in the garden.
He watched her sleep with her vasle next to her.
It felt his eyes on him and looked up.
"Why did you leave your mother and follow my girlfriend? Do you like her too? "he asked.
It blinked staring at him.
"I know she's beautiful and captivating but we can't share her, "he said.
It whined and he scoffed," She's mine so don't think just because I let you stay by her side you can be her new favourite "
The little vasle looked away hiding next to the sleeping Liana.
He chuckled," I hope I made myself clear, I don't care if your young or useful but if you try to take my place..."Xavier's eyes glared at it," I won't hesitate to kill you "
