Liana returned home arriving at the news of her company had a new CEO. Joy was at the entrance waiting for her.
"Liana " she cried hugging her.
"What happened? how did this all happen" she asked.
"It was a lie, Liana. it was all a lie, he has been lying to us all this time " Joy cried.
Liana held her as they got to the elevator. She made Joy sit down and walked to her office.
Lucian was making his assistant clear all her things from the office.
"Even that ugly picture on the desk don't leave it there" he pointed.
Liana walked up grabbing the picture frame from the assistant. She turned glaring at her brother.
"Excuse us for a bit," he said to the assistant who walked out
"What is going on Lucian, isn't this going a little too far? We can talk about it " she said.
Lucian sat down, "We don't have anything to talk about. Am grateful for a lot of things," he said
"What do you mean by that?"
"It means you made things easy for me, I was looking for a way to distract you so I could handle everything but then you disappeared giving me time to do what I needed to " he scoffed, "and then you. helped me again with that naive little girl "
"What?" Liana shouted.
"Oh, I mean your little secretary. I had to find someone who I could get easy deep information and I choose her, but the hard part was how to break up with her, he laughed, and you made that easy too, so grateful " he walked up to her looking down at her confused teary eyes, "I would feel guilty after doing this to both of you but am not. I was getting sick of pretending to care and love. you when all I did was loathe you. If it was for the boyfriend of yours to find out about our plans then I would have done this long time but you being naive and insecure about being alone still let me stay close to you and I used it to my advantage "
Liana staggered but he grabbed her, "Hi, don't be like this . Yes I might have lied but you could have been wiser and seen through my plans like he did but you didn't so it's kind of your fault " he chuckled, "Mom was right you're insecure about having a family so me being with you gave you comfort making it easy for me and them. Anyway, I don't have all day so please pack all your things and leave so that Mom can continue as the new boss tomorrow " he said.
Letting her go he walked out leaving the door wide open so she could hear what he was saying.
"As all of you have heard today morning Liana won't be your boss anymore, tomorrow your new boss will arrive and I hope you will work with her well as you have with Liana. If you are not comfortable with that you can leave with her " he said then walked off.
Joy and the others ran into her office to see her collapse to the floor.
"Boss, Liana!.." they shouted rushing to her.
"Call an ambulance, now " Joy shouted as she held her best friend.
