Liana had kept trying to call Xavier but failed to get in touch with him. Gerald picked up his informing her of a meeting he was in.
"Tell him I will be away for a few days and I will be safe, so let him not worry," she said.
"Even when safe, he would still worry. But I will deliver the message " Gerald said.
"Thank you," she said hanging up.
She pushed her luggage to the taxi driver, he placed it in the back while she got in. They drove off to the airport.
Three hours later Xavier left his meeting, and Gerald followed him to his office.
"Liana called, " he said. Xavier looked up with a frown, "she could not get to you so called me instead "
Xavier looked around at his phone on the desk, with four missed calls from Liana.
"She wanted to inform you not to worry but she left for a trip," he said.
"That's it?" Xavier asked.
"Yep, that's what she said "
Xavier decided to call her but could not get through, he called Joy instead.
"Who is this?" a polite voice answered.
"Joy, it's Xavier. Can you tell me where Liana departed " he asked?
"Oh, am sorry I didn't have your phone number. She left to go meet with Lucian who is on a business trip " Joy answered.
"Has he spoken to her yet after their argument?" he asked.
"No, they are still not on speaking terms "
"Okay, thank you, Joy," he said hanging up.
Gerald noticed his frown face and scoffed, 'She will be fine. Give the woman some credit even before you got in her life Liana took care of herself so don't be so worried "
"I know she can take care of herself but not with the situation now. We both know that she escaped from the underworld after I left too and her first target will be Liana " Xavier said.
"But Liana isn't someone you can easily mess with so I don't think that crazy woman will just attack her like that "
"Gerald we both know that she would do anything to succeed in her plans. And Liana was safe here where I could keep her safe but now that she's away anything can happen "
"Xavier, calm down. We know as long as Liana is with her brother then she can't attack since the number one rule that governs our demons is never to harm a human. Liana and her brother are both humans so even without our protection she is safe " Gerald said.
Liana arrived and grabbed a taxi to the hotel where her brother was staying.
After giving her name at the reception she was taken to her room.
"Trinidad " Liana stopped at the call of the name. Turning to see Tracy with a man next to her standing in the hotel hallway.
"Tracy?" Liana let out as Tracy and the stranger walked closer to. "You actually followed me?" Liana smirked.
Tracy seemed to be staring at Liana with a smile on her face. "Can we talk in private?" she said.
Liana sighed, "but we don't have anything to talk about between us so what exactly do you want to say in private?" she said.
Tracy bent closer to Liana's ear, "It's okay if you want to involve innocent people in this Trinidad but I would prefer if we did it privately " She moved back and laughed, "Cause I don't think it would be favorable for you if it goes public "
Liana turned to the staff of the hotel still holding her luggage, "Please led us to my room " she said.
After they got in and he left Liana closed the door.
She moved to the seat looking up at Tracy and her friend.
"So what do you want to talk about tell me how you know that name, " she said.
Tracy turned to Liana, "It's not me who wants to talk to you...." her body stopped moving and collapsed but something from her body remained standing.
Liana flinched getting up from her seat as she came face to face with a woman. Her feature seemed familiar but she could not remember where she saw it. She was dressed in old fashioned ballroom dress with her long grey hair tied up in a bun. Her eyes were grey like her hair with red deep lips.
The man next to her picked up Tracy's unconscious body away and returned next to the lady.
"Who are you and what did you do to Tracy?" she asked.
"After the times you have reincarnated I don't believe you if you forgot me, but sadly for you, I can't forgive you for your crime no matter how long it's been, Trinidad "
"You must be mistaken but am not Trinidad but Liana"
The stranger laughed, "I don't care what you call yourself now, we both know your Trinidad not matter how much you keep denying"
Liana moved back," Okay, I was in the past but am not anymore, so please whatever you are after I think you have me confused about it "
The woman scoffed, "So you mean I can't recognize my daughter "
Liana froze stammering, "your.. you're what?"
