I didn't have to worry much, I knew I was the best. Besides, not many superheroes around.
Even the great 'Pack', great saviours and strongest ones out there, ones in the top five list of organisations, a hard six, currently had only four members.
It wasn't a big deal, since some groups even consisted of just two people, all the way up to twelve as the highest number in a group.
Then again, the organisations always had managers, fund givers, etcetra. That count was larger obviously.
But the problem with Pack was, it was the only hero organisation in this nation.
Pack... as if. More like, 'Speed Pack'. I knew their secret. All they were, was speedsters. Like me. That is why I HATED to come here.
Then again, there are different kind of speedsters you could say. Well, not wrong, cute actually, BUT, they were wrongly spotlighting their powers.
The greatest marksman of the world, 'Secret-eye'. Besides the clear rip-off of a name, he wasn't even a real archer! He fiddles with the arrow or whatever projectile he throws, and makes it hit the spot.
Right, the secret of his eye, wasn't a mystery to me.
The next person, 'Super-pack'. True, he... had eight-packs. And this person, unlike the first one, was removed from the sports. Not cause they found HIS secret, but cause he killed someone.
Right after he came out of jail, he was to interview for Pack, where he got his superhero name, and training.
His secret is; he literally packs his punches. He just punches on and on, in a millisecond, which would make it seem like he only punches once, and he said it so too, clearly guilty for it. And well, the cameras catch it to be some bizarre powered-up punch, and people went with it.
In an interview he was asked...
"Why not call yourself one-"
"-No, no, no! That goes against copyrights, no?"
Clearly respect him for that, but he clearly was 'Multi punch man' though.
His criminal record makes him someone bad for the team, as everyone fears him. But being the sole team, they didn't face much restrictions.
Next was the one Speedster I looked up to, 'Element: Mind', or just either of those words, shortly. He is supposedly a psychic. But as you may have guessed, he really just grabs the object himself.
But something different about him was, he could fly, literally.
He puts up the greatest effort, being such a great superpower immitator. And I heartily respect him for that.
If I could get with anyone on the team, I'd love to be with him, of everyone. But sadly, the rulebook in my hand, says otherwise. 'No inter team love affairs'.
And lastly, the greatest liar of them all, and their leader, Point-zero. The only one who portrays himself as a speedster. But, is not.
He probably is a teleporter or something, which is my best guess.
While no one in the team could pass through obstacles, he can. Says he can 'phase through them', like the Flash. But that kind of a thing could only be possible in the DC universe. Here, their particles would break apart, so... he probably was a teleporter.
Now, y'all might be wondering. Who is this girl? How does she know Pack's secret? Besides, how is she even talking to us, this way?
See, I'm planning on being a fake too. Won't sign up as a speedster. What else? The actual deal... you'll see.
I knock at the door.
"Come in," I hear Point-zero's voice.
Ugh, goosebumps down my spine. If he really was a speedster, damn he could be a god, for me to have missed about him.
I hated, and feared him for that reason. And many more, honestly.
I let out a breath, and open the door. Ahead of me, inside the room, the four sit, on more than needed size of chairs.
"Welcome. Please have a seat," still Point-zero is the one to be doing the talking.
I sit in the tiny, but comfortable, provided chair, and face to scan them.
Point-zero, in a fully covered suit of black and dark purple. His mask, a full face mask, extending to the back, where it had a knot-like extension, staying firm against his face.
He looks like some vampire.
Super-pack, only person at Point-zero's left, armour-like dark brown, battle suit, making him look more buff. His head covered with maroon coloured, boxing headgear, blue shades covering his eye.
He was a beast in his looks.
Secret-eye, at Point-zero's right, latex suit of red colour, he had the same kind of suit in different colours. Clear glasses, hood covering his head.
His identity wasn't a secret, so just a normal look.
Lastly, at Secret-eye's right, Element: Mind, blue-green suit for the whole body.
He was probably a robot.
This was them, Pack. All ready to battle even now, in case a villain knocks the door at the interview.
"We wanted everyone to be in their suits..." Mind points, at my very normal outfit.
"Ah... I'm not exactly rich for it... besides, it was one thing which would conceal my identity."
"Agreed and accepted," Mind says, sitting back up-straight.
"You obviously need not submit no documents. So let us just cut to the chase and talk about your qualification," Point-zero says.
"Oh my superpower?" I ask. "I'm omniscient."
Everyone freezes at this, and I see some of you guys are doing the same. Yes, I see it all.
"We need proof," Point-zero says.
Of course, that part I knew would come. The thing is... there was only one another with such a similar ability. And boy is that team strong.
I take a moment, and stay still, to confirm something.
"I could read out everything you have written on your notes," I say.
Secret-eye clears his throat. "That'd be unnecessary."
"Why? You didn't want to share your erotic art of you making love with that girl from before. I'm only surprised that you draw so quick, that's all," I say.
I could easily reveal their secret and break the ice here, but I only was planning to give them that doubt of me probably knowing it. Cause that was one rule I added myself: not to embarrass the team.
But this kind of embarrassment would be fine for Secret-eye, everyone knew he was a pervert. People even believe that he can see through clothes, being Secret-eye and all.
Point-zero clears his throat. "Do you have any other suggestion, Secret-eye?"
"I could shoot an arrow and she could tell where it lands."
"You are mistaken... I can't see the future. Only the present. Besides, I could guess where it does, by seeing its trajectory."
Super-pack writes something down, and I read it through my powers.
"He wrote that I have nice honesty."
"You could be reading minds," Super-pack says.
Ouch, that hurt. I liked you, Super-pack!
"Alright, give me a second," I say.
I concentrate once more, and see beyond, even when time passed to me, it wasn't exactly, it was merely a nanosecond, since I activated my powers, relative to the real time.
I find just the thing.
"Let me tell you things which you would get aware of. Your manager who is in US currently, is flirting, and is in a bar called..." I say the bar name, no can't tell you, you could hunt him down, I can't see intentions.
Point-zero disappears. I see him in the bar too, talking to the manager, who was hitting on this really handsome stripper.
Point-zero returns.
"Fancy meeting that stripper? He was about to strip down-"
"-enough," Point-zero interrupts.
See? This arrogant bastard.
"He only reached there a minute ago. So you don't have to doubt me now, right?"
"I would like to see another show," Mind says.
"Trust me, you don't," Point-zero says.
"Hmm, fuck! Secret-eye, jump!" I say.
Secret eye jumps across the table, and an arrow strikes to where he was.
"Ah, Blood," Secret-eye grits his teeth.
Blood, was someone Secret-eye hated. It wasn't just one person, many people took on that mantle, to hunt Secret-eye. By now, no one knew which of them first started.
"He is at..." I tell Point-zero. "Two other goons for protection, probably human."
I see Point-zero go to the location, and first knock Blood down. He knocks the other two with ease, and returns with the three, one by one.
Secret-eye looks under Blood's mask.
"Eh, how'd I even know?" Secret-eye says.
"Well..." I say. "I would."
"Are you serious?" Secret-eye asks.
"Well, yes. I wouldn't have known the identity, except, I first saw and followed where the real Blood went, through my vision. Hence I know his identity."
Secret-eye gives a baffled look.
"What's his name?" Point-zero asks.
"Well, I would like to bring him myself. That could be my task."
"WHAT. IS. HIS. NAME!" Point-zero asks, my over-asserting onto each word.
I glare at Point-zero, annoyed and frustrated.
"By what you said, all you can do is see. You can't fight. And even if you can, you are too useful to be lost. The team can't endanger such an asset," Point-zero says.
I understood by a bit, of what he meant, and why he said so.
"Mackenzie Zhang."
This must mean that I was in the team, right?
