Chapter 33 - Chapter 26 - Journey to Pallet Town! And the Mischief of Kasumi and the System

Exam's are done!! We can continue again!!! Let's Go to Pallet Town!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the brief exchange with Lorelei, Haru and Kasumi headed out of Viridian City, their minds now focused on their next destination: Pallet Town, where the legendary Professor Oak resided. The excitement of meeting the man who was a Pokemon expert made them eager, yet they knew the road ahead wouldn't be easy.

As they set off along Route 1, the journey quickly became a blend of adventure and discovery. The gentle hum of Pokemon cries surrounded them, while the wild grass seemed to move with life. Haru's eyes were sharp, always on the lookout for any interesting Pokemon they could train with or capture. Kasumi, on the other hand, enjoyed the peaceful moments of the journey, occasionally humming a tune.

"I can't believe we're finally going to meet Professor Oak," Haru said, excitement clear in his voice.

"He's a real legend in the Pokemon world," Kasumi replied. "I bet he's seen Pokemon we can only dream of."

"Yes, He really is one of the best or arguably the best as He is leading the Pokemon World in Research right now." Haru stated.

As they ventured deeper into the route, Haru's Pidgeotto soared high above, keeping watch, while Kasumi's Lapras comfortably followed them through a nearby river that ran parallel to their path. Eevee, Gyarados, and Sensilix were out too, enjoying the fresh air and stretching their legs—well, in Gyarados' case, its fins.

Halfway through their journey, they came across a small town called Skydale (fan-made town), famous for its lush gardens and flower fields. Deciding to take a short rest, they explored the small yet charming village, enjoying its natural beauty.

"Look, they have a Pokemon Contest Hall here," Kasumi said, pointing to a small building near the center of town. "Want to check it out?"

"Nah, let's save that for another time," Haru replied. "I also want to join and see the Pokemon Contest Hall but We are near in Pallet Town."

"True, Make haste to meet Professor Oak!" Kasumi nodded a little.

.

.

After stocking up on some supplies and letting their Pokemon rest, they continued onward. As the evening began to fall, they made camp under a large tree, with a view of the moonlit sky and twinkling stars. Kasumi took the first shift watching over the camp while Haru prepared the meals.

While eating, Haru couldn't help but think about the strange encounter with Lorelei earlier. The stone that had glowed so brightly—what did it mean? And why had it pointed to Lorelei? He didn't share his thoughts with Kasumi, who seemed more relaxed after their battles and sight-seeings in Viridian City.

.

.

The next morning, they packed up and resumed their journey, the excitement of meeting Professor Oak once again filling their minds. However, along the way, they encountered a wild Arbok blocking the road. Without hesitation, Haru and Kasumi jumped into action.

"I'll take this one!" Haru called out. "Eevee, use Quick Attack!"

Eevee dashed forward with blinding speed, slamming into the Arbok, who retaliated with a fierce Poison Sting. But Eevee dodged with agility, while Kasumi watched from the side, ready to assist if needed.

"Wrap it up, Eevee! Use Swift!"

Eevee lunged at Arbok, shining starts roam around Eevee and throws them into the snake Pokémon. With a final hiss, Arbok slithered away, defeated.

"Nice work, Eevee!" Haru said, patting his Pokemon on the head.

"Not bad," Kasumi added with a smile.

As they continued on, they found themselves nearing Pallet Town by the end of the third day. The sun was setting behind them as the art-like town came into view. It was smaller than they expected, with simple homes scattered across the green landscape. White picket fences surrounded blooming gardens filled with colorful flowers, and the fresh smell of grass hung in the air. A peaceful vibe enveloped Pallet Town, making it a perfect place for Pokemon to thrive.

[ Ding! Host is at the beginning of the plot, Pallet Town, where it all began. Would you like to sign-in as a reward? ]

'You can do sign-ins?' Haru was surprised by the systems' antics.

[ Only in special occasions. So, would you like to sign-in? ]

'Yes!'

[ Ding! signed-in Pallet Town! Host received an original technique, Kanto's Guardian Aura! ]

'Huh? What is this??'; Haru exclaimed in his thoughts.

*swoosh!

[ Kanto's Guardian Aura

Type: Psychic

Category: Status

Power: N/A

Accuracy: N/A

PP: 10 (max 16)

Description:

Haru channels the protective spirit of the Kanto region, enveloping himself and his Pokemon in a shimmering aura. This move creates a shield that reduces incoming damage and grants several beneficial effects for the next five turns.

Effects:

1. Damage Reduction: All damage taken by Haru's Pokemon and himself is reduced by 50% for the duration of the move.

2. Stat Boosts: Increases the Special Defense and Defense stats of all allies, be it Pokemon and people by one stage.

3. Immunity to Status Conditions: While the aura is active, allies are immune to status conditions (e.g., burn, paralysis, freeze) for the next five turns.

4. Increased Evasion: Grants a temporary boost to evasion, making it harder for opponents to land attacks.

5. Healing Effect: At the end of the duration, all allies in Haru's party heals for a small amount of HP, reflecting the rejuvenating spirit of the Kanto region.

To activate the technique, one must recite this: "Harnessing the bond between trainers and Pokemon in Kanto, the chosen one emanates an aura of protection, shielding allies from harm and empowering their spirits." ]

'So OP!' Haru, who got a spirit cultivation technique before was shock as this is different as it can benefit more rather than himself. Because of this, He looked at the Pallet Town and shouted at the top of his lungs. "Pallet Town! The Town of New Beginnings! I, Haru, am Here!!" Haru declared excitedly.

"Stop shouting! It's embarrassing!" Kasumi covered her face in shame as people near Pallet Town are smiling.

.

.

Before heading straight to the famous Professor Oak's Lab, Haru and Kasumi decided to explore the town a bit. As they walked, they were approached by a young girl with dark brown hair tied up in a playful ponytail. She wore a light blue dress adorned with white flowers, which matched the cheerful spirit she radiated. Her bright green eyes sparkled with curiosity, and a warm smile graced her lips.

"Hi! Are you here to see my grandpa, Professor Oak?" she asked, her enthusiasm infectious.

"Uh, yeah, we are," Haru said, a bit surprised. "Who are you?"

"I'm Daisy Oak," the girl said, bouncing slightly on her feet. Then she pointed at the young boy who's looking at them, "That's Gary Oak, my little brother. He's only three, though, so I'm sorry if he will be impolite to you both. But I know all about Grandpa's research! He's really smart!"

Haru and Kasumi exchanged glances. "Nice to meet you, Daisy, Gary." Kasumi said. "We were hoping to meet your grandpa. Do you think he's at the Lab?"

Daisy nodded enthusiastically. "Yep! He's been working on some cool research lately. You should come by tomorrow. He's really busy right now."

Just then, Haru felt a familiar buzz in his mind.

The system chimed in, [ Quest Alert: Woo Daisy Oak! Gain a special item as a reward! ]

Haru blinked in surprise. "Wait, what? No way! I'm not wooing anyone!"

Daisy looked puzzled. "What's wrong?"

Haru stammered, "Uh, nothing! Just talking to... myself!"

Kasumi raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile forming. "Is that your way of saying you like her, Haru?"

Remembering their conversation before about his Harem, Haru shook his head, "Of course not!" he protested, but the system's laughter echoed in his mind. [ Come on, Haru! A special item? You know you want it! ]

"Maybe you could take her to the Contest Hall," Kasumi suggested playfully. "Show her how strong your Pokemon are!"

Haru groaned internally, but he couldn't help but feel a bit of warmth at the thought. Daisy was bright and cheerful, and despite the system's teasing, he felt a spark of admiration.

'No, No, I'll first prevent this world's destruction then be a Pokemon Master. After that, I'll take down Kasumi and we can talk about the Harem later.'

As Haru was lost in his world, Daisy ran off, leaving Haru and Kasumi, who was fine by it as she knows that she's number one, to plan their visit for the next day. The anticipation of meeting Professor Oak now hung over them like an exciting promise, but they were also unaware that something bigger was about to happen—a mystery connected to the stone and perhaps even more powerful Pokemon than they had ever imagined.

.

.

As they made their way toward Professor Oak's lab, Kasumi remarked, "I can't wait to see what kind of research he's doing. Do you think he has any rare Pokemon?"

"Probably," Haru replied, glancing around at the peaceful surroundings. "This town seems like the perfect place for them."

They approached the large, impressive lab, which was painted a soft green and surrounded by gardens bursting with various Pokémon species. The lab was a mix of modern and rustic styles, with windows that provided a glimpse of the bustling activity inside.

Haru's heart raced with excitement. They had come so far, and now they were finally here. "At last, we can meet Professor Oak," he said, determination in his voice.

With that thought, they found a spot to rest for the night, their minds buzzing with anticipation for the new adventures that awaited them in Pallet Town.

.

.

.

The night passed quietly under the shimmering stars, the gentle rustle of leaves serving as a lullaby for Haru and Kasumi. The next morning, the sun peeked through the trees, casting a warm glow over Pallet Town. Excitement filled the air as they prepared for their visit to Professor Oak.

After a quick breakfast, Haru and Kasumi made their way to the lab, their hearts racing with anticipation. The lush gardens surrounding the building were filled with vibrant flowers and curious Pokemon. Butterfree danced among the blossoms, while a group of Pidgey chirped merrily above them.

As they approached the entrance, they noticed the lab was alive with activity. Researchers in lab coats were bustling in and out, carrying clipboards and devices that hummed with energy. The lab had an inviting aura, filled with the spirit of discovery and the pursuit of knowledge.

"Looks like we came at a busy time," Kasumi said, glancing at the flurry of activity.

Haru nodded, his eyes scanning the impressive structure. "I hope we can meet Professor Oak soon. I want to ask him about rare Pokemon and training techniques."

Just then, a kind-looking older man with gray hair and glasses stepped outside. He wore a white lab coat and had a warm smile that immediately made Haru feel at ease.

"Ah, you must be Haru and Kasumi!" the man called out, noticing them. "I'm Professor Oak. Daisy mentioned you were coming to visit."

"Yes, Professor! It's an honor to meet you!" Haru exclaimed, his excitement bubbling over.

Kasumi chimed in, "We've heard so much about your research and all the amazing Pokemon you've worked with!"

"Come in, come in!" Professor Oak beckoned, leading them into the lab. "I have a few things I'd love to show you."

As they entered, Haru's eyes widened at the sight before him. The lab was filled with all sorts of gadgets, screens displaying data on various Pokemon species, and glass enclosures housing different Pokemon. A friendly Squirtle peeked out from behind one of the glass walls, waving at them with a tiny hand.

"Wow, this is incredible!" Haru said, his voice barely containing his awe.

"Thank you!" Professor Oak replied. "I've dedicated my life to studying Pokemon, their habitats, and their behaviors. Here, let me show you something."

He led them to a large table covered with various Poke Balls and tools. "This is a special device I've been working on. It can analyze Pokemon and provide detailed information about their abilities and habitats."

Kasumi leaned in closer, intrigued. "That sounds amazing! Can it tell us about rare Pokemon?"

"Exactly!" Professor Oak said, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "It can even identify Pokemon's potential for evolution."

Haru felt a rush of ideas flooding his mind. 'Is it the same as the systems? Also, Pokemon's evolution, mega evolution?' "Could it tell us about Pokemon that might be in this area?"

"Of course! Just give me a moment." Professor Oak turned to a computer terminal and began typing. A holographic display flickered to life, showing a map of the surrounding region filled with icons representing different Pokemon.

As they explored the map together, Haru couldn't help but feel a growing connection to the professor. He was not just a researcher; he was a mentor who understood the importance of nurturing a bond with Pokemon.

Suddenly, a notification buzzed in Haru's mind. [ "Quest Update: Professor Oak senses great potential in you! Gain a special item for sharing your journey with him!" ]

'Dang system! You've been active these days'

[ I'm bore- I just want to help ]

'..........'

Haru glanced at Kasumi, who was eagerly studying the display. He shrugged, unsure whether to share this with her. The system had been teasing him about wooing Daisy, and now this new quest felt like another layer of stupidity and a little bit of uncertainty.

"Professor, do you think you could tell us about the rarest Pokemon you've encountered?" Haru asked, trying to steer the conversation in a direction that would help him learn more.

"Ah, that's a fascinating topic!" Professor Oak began, his eyes twinkling with nostalgia. "There are so many rare Pokémon out there, but one that stands out is the Mewtwo. It's a powerful psychic Pokémon created through genetic engineering. Very few have ever laid eyes on it."

'Mewtwo!!' They've done it! Is this for the Main Quest?' Haru shuddered.

"Genetic engineering?" Kasumi echoed, her eyes wide. "That sounds intense."

"Yes, it raised a lot of ethical questions in the Pokemon community," Professor Oak explained, his tone turning serious. "But there are also tales of legendary Pokemon like Lugia and Ho-Oh. If you ever get a chance to see them, consider yourselves lucky."

'It seems like this Professor Oak knows the Pokemon outside Kanto Region, different from the Anime version who doesn't know Ho-oh'

Haru dismissed his thoughts and felt a thrill of excitement. "We want to be strong trainers and discover rare Pokemon ourselves!"

Professor Oak smiled, clearly pleased by their enthusiasm. "The journey to becoming a Pokemon Master is not just about strength; it's about understanding and connecting with your Pokemon. Never forget that."

As the conversation flowed, Haru and Kasumi shared stories about their journey so far—battles, encounters with wild Pokemon, and their experiences in Viridian City. Professor Oak listened intently, nodding and occasionally interjecting with insightful comments.

"I can see you two have a bright future ahead of you," he remarked after they finished sharing their adventures. "And it seems you have a strong bond with your Pokemon. That's essential."

The discussion continued, filled with laughter and learning. Kasumi's eyes sparkled with inspiration as she took notes, while Haru absorbed every word, feeling more motivated than ever.

After a while, Professor Oak stood up and stretched. "It's getting late, and I must return to my research. But before you go, I have something for you both."

He reached into his desk and pulled out two special Poke Balls. "These are advanced Poke Balls. They have a higher success rate for catching Pokémon. I hope they help you in your adventures!"

"Thank you so much, Professor!" Haru exclaimed, taking one of the Poke Balls with gratitude.

[ Ding! Host received upgraded Poke Balls! ( it is a Poke Ball with a higher success rate than normal Poke Balls but lower than Great Balls ) ]

[ Ding! congratulations to the Host for completing the Quest! Ding! Host received Oak's Knowledge Tome III ]

[ Oak's Knowledge Tome III - This section of Knowledge Tome is related to the Basic knowledge of Pokemon Technology except Genetic Engineering, ]

As Haru was looking at the System's reward, Kasumi voice was heard, "We'll put them to good use!"

.

.

As they prepared to leave, Haru felt a mix of excitement, confusion and eagerness. They had met a legend today, and he was more than just a scientist—he was a guiding light for aspiring trainers like them.

After stepping out of the lab, the sun was setting, casting a golden hue over Pallet Town. Haru and Kasumi stood together, taking in the peaceful surroundings.

"That was incredible," Kasumi said, her eyes shining with inspiration. "I can't wait to put what we learned into practice."

"Me too," Haru replied, a smile spreading across his face. "But now, what do we do next?"

"Haru! Kasumi! Can you help me for a while in here?" Daisy's voiced was filled with helplessness.

"What's wrong, Daisy?" Kasumi said with a concern.

"Some rich young man there said he'll propose an arrange marriage to Grandpa." Daisy was tear-eyed.

"No worries, I got a plan." Kasumi said with a confidence.

"What is it?" Daisy said with a shock.

Haru, who was listening, suddenly felt that something bad will happen. "Just tell him Haru is your future husband." Kasumi said to Daisy.

"Wha- " before Haru can say any words, "But, I thought that the two of you are couple?"

"No, we're not. We're only like 10 and 11 years old. But we'll soon be. I'm managing the Harem." Kasumi said with a confidence.

"Oh! Then, can I join for now?" Daisy said with an expectant gaze,

"Sure!" Kasumi said with a smile.

Haru, who was on the side, decided to just shut up.

[ Kasumi did you a great favor ei? ]

'Shut up!'
