I smiled to myself as the fresh air is hugging my whole face, feeling this moment is the best.
"Don't put your head outside the window Daphne!" My Mom said, I laughed and went back inside the car. "Ikaw bata ka pag may dumaan na malaking truck sa side mo iyang ulo mo gugulong din tulad ng gulong natin!" She joked, I rolled my eyes and laughed again.
"There are no other cars except our car Mom it's midnight!" I told her, and she just shook her head disagreeing with what I just said. I looked at the guy sitting behind me, he was facing his phone and typing.
"Excited to see Ali, eh?" I asked my brother Dale.
"No." He said with a bitter tone.
"No" I mocked him, he then threw a neck pillow at me.
"Look it's the beach!" I pointed outside, the moon was giving light to the ocean which made it look more beautiful, and the street lights were also on.
"How long do we have to wait til we get to Sunny Side Village?" my Brother Dale asked. I'm confused too, it's been 5 hours of the trip.
"Til sunrise." Mom answered.
I woke up feeling something tickling my nose, I opened my eyes and there I saw Luna and Luca holding a small leaf and slowly putting it on my face.
"Ay nagising!" said Luca causing him to throw the leaf he was holding, "Wala akong ginagawang masama! Si Luna yon!"
"Luna ka diyan! Ikaw kaya nagsabi na kilitiin natin ilong niya gamit ang dahon!" Luna shouted to his twin brother, "Welcome back Sissyyyyy!!" she hugged me and I hugged her back. I looked outside and I saw the Anderson's house. I went out of the car and I saw my Mom talking to Aunt Reese.
"Oh, don't worry your house is all clean the kids are cleaning it every season." I heard Aunt Reese.
It's been a while simula nang umalis kami dito, my Dad told Mom to live with him in the City to continue our business. But now that they're divorced, Mom chose to come back here and live together with Mom's best friends... Our best friends.
"Luca brought a girl to your old house last summer, he used Dale's bedroom and it was messy after that day!" Said Luna. Dale and Luca are talking about some things we don't know, ang dalawang ito ay pag nagsama hindi na mapipigilan ang mga kalokohan.
"Oh and by the way, Lucy is throwing a welcome back beach party tonight, you should come it's a party for you and Dale, some of our old friends are invited too." She said again no hell way I am not coming to that party, I miss the night parties on the beach!
"I'll surely come" I replied.
"Come on kids, let's eat breakfast you must be tired." Aunt Reese kissed my cheek as a welcome gesture, we went inside the house and I saw so many breakfast sea foods.
"I miss these!!" I shouted, Dale and I sat on the chair and we ate while chatting.
After eating breakfast, umuwi na kami sa aming old house hindi naman ganoon kalayo ang bahay namin sa bahay nila Luna at nila Ali. We haven't visited the Hale's house, wala pa daw sila dahil may pinuntahan ngayong araw.
Aunt Reese was right, the house is clean you won't notice that no one's living in this house for 5 years.
I went to my room, it was exactly the same room I have when I was 15, the last year we lived here. I looked around the pink pastel wall, the pink bed, and the Polaroid photos of me, my family, and my friends. Some school certificates, awards even my educational book are still in the same positions.
I bent my body looking under my bed to find my secret box. When I saw it I smiled to myself and grabbed it.
Lagi kong nilalagay dito lahat ng mga memorable photos, things, even food wrappers. I opened it and there I saw the chocolate wrapper.
"I remember this.."
This was the first time I and Luca tried eating this spicy chocolate bar and our faces went red that time. I also remember Luca cried that time.
The next thing I saw is Ali's bra strap, she gave this to her ex-boyfriend but she didn't know that he gave it back to me and said, "It's disgusting, give that back to her."
The dead flower.
Is the next thing I saw, I grabbed it and the memories flashed.
Cal gave it to me on my 14th birthday, he said he picked it up somewhere beautiful, and he also promised he will bring me to that place.
"SISTERRRRRRR" Dale shouted, he walked into my room and jumped onto my bed, "Wanna go to the beach?"
I shook my head, "I need to sleep, and pwede ba don't just barge into my room you're scaring me."
"Really? Ayaw mo sumama?" He asked again with a teasing joke.
"No."
"Kahit kasama kami?" I looked at the door where I heard the voices, I smiled widely when I saw Ali and Lucy.
"OMG!" I went to them and hugged them both.
"Tss ang oa niyo!" binato kami ni Dale ng stuff toy.
"HEY, THAT'S MR WOCKY!" I shouted to him, I bent and grabbed my favoring toy.
"Aw, she's still a baby." I heard Lucy.
"Yeah, she still is." Answered Ali, "So you're not coming with us to the beach?"
"Says who? I'll go!"
The fresh air welcomed me as I stepped on the white sand, the waves are making a sound as if it is singing together with the wind. I smiled, I missed this feeling.
The wind blew the towel covering my body wearing a black bikini, good thing Luca got the towel and gave it back to me.
"You should have worn something that can cover your whole body," he said.
"Oh come on baby brother, we're all wearing bikinis, and besides this is a beach magulat ka pag nag pang office attire yan." Lucy said to his brother.
"Cal's here!" Luna shouted, pointing Cal who was surfing.
We went closer to the sea to watch Cal, but it looks like he stopped already, bumaba siya sa surfing board at lumakad para salubungin kami.
Everything became slow. All I can see is him. Everyone's silent, all I can hear is the sound of the waves. I looked at him, walking towards us. His face changed, and his body went bigger in a muscular way, his tanned skin, his messy hair, and his blue eyes.
"Hey,"
"Hi." I replied to him.
"What's up bayaw!" Dale wrapped his hands around Cal's shoulder.
"Miss me?" Cal said, hindi ko alam kung sino ang kausap niya si Dale ba o ako but he's looking at me.
"Opkors bayaw! Wala na akong ibang bayaw doon sa amin kaya wag ka magalala sayo pa din ang boto ko!" Cal smiled, binatukan niya ni Dale.
"Siraulo."
Lahat kami ay nag laro sa dagat, we played volleyball and many games just like the old times. I missed everything, I missed all this feeling. And of course, I missed him.
