3rd person Pov:
Because of the large dust cloud, he could not see his surroundings, but Galpin still kept his eyes fixed on the spot where the mermen boss monster was. He was still on his guard when he heard, "Can you see anything?"
He heard Mouser's voice. (The earth mage). Galpin didn't say anything and looked in his direction. He could see that Nathan (The ice mage) was lying unconscious on the ground. Mouser followed his gaze and said, "Don't worry. He is just depleted of mana. There is no danger to his life."
Galpin sighed at his words but still stayed quiet. They didn't know if the monster was dead or not. They were afraid that if the monster heard them, it would attack them, and in this dust cloud, it would be hard for them to defend themselves.
Also, Galpin was feeling a bit dizzy since earlier. He couldn't see properly. 'Maybe I'm tired.' He thought to himself. It was logical since he had been through a hard battle. But that was not the end, and his dizziness was increasing with each passing moment. It was not to the point that it would bother him though.
He turned to look at Mouser and noticed the same thing happening to him. Now he was worried. He could see that Mouser was straining his eyes which means he was also acting a bit dizzy. It could be that they were both tired, but the exact same symptoms were weird.
Eventually, the dust cloud settled, and they saw the monster with a huge hole in its chest. It was undoubtedly dead. Galpin forgot about his condition and turned to look at Mouser who was also looking at him. They were successful in taking it down even though they had lost a friend and another one was crippled.
Galpin turned to look at his other friend, the archer but was horrified but what he saw. He was lying on the ground with blood pooled around him. He immediately had a bad premonition and turned to look at the tanker that he had moved to under a tree.
He was again horrified to see the same scene. He could see that there was a wound in his heart. He was pierced by something. He hurriedly turned to look at Mouser to warn him but all he could see was a standing mouser with blood leaking from his mouth and something piercing through his heart from behind.
Slowly, Mouser fell to the ground and the figure behind him was revealed. The figure was small with a mask on its face with no eyeholes. The masked figure had already conjured a fireball and dropped it at Nathan who was unconscious. Before Galpin could even shout another fireball came at him. He immediately dodged it, but he had to back up a little.
He immediately tried to save Nathan again when another fireball came at him. This process repeated again and again until he could smell flesh burning. He was too late to save his friend who had died in his unconscious state. Rage bubbled inside of him when he shouted, "Why are you doing this?"
=====
1st person Pov:
"Why are you doing this?" I heard Galpin's enraged voice. I answered in the easiest way I could, by taking off my mask. He was stunned to see my face and his eyes fully widened. "You?" He asked in disbelief.
I smiled at him in return. His expression however didn't change. "But you are supposed to be…." He trailed off mid-sentence, so I finished it for him. "In a coma. I know. Bet you didn't expect this, did you?" He somewhat composed himself after hearing my words.
For some time, he kept looking at me. it looked like he was trying to make sense of the situation and soon he looked at me again and said, "You are the one who has been targeting our faction."
"Ding. Ding. Ding. Correct answer." I said with a brightened expression. He was still coming to terms with all the information and then became horrified again and said, "The war with the Church…."
This guy should really complete his sentences. "Was incited by me." I again completed his sentence for him. He just stared at me with wide eyes and after some time, he again composed himself when a wave of dizziness assaulted him, but he just shrugged it off.
"Why?" He asked while tightening his hold on his sword. "Why what?" But I was in no mood to finish this. He is not fully affected yet. I need to waste some time. He became more enraged at my question and shouted, "Everything. Why are you doing all of this?"
He huffed after asking this question, but I simply calmly stared at him with no change in my expression. After some time, I sighed and said, "You know you really shouldn't be asking that question. I mean ever since I was born, you guys are targeting me and my family. And now you are asking me 'why'? Does it even make sense?"
He was taken aback at my words. He seemed to have realized the true meaning behind my words. "Now that you understand, stop acting like a victim," I said to him while he mulled over things. But it seems my words only made him feel more wronged as he said, "Why? We never went this far."
Hah. Seriously. "Are you really saying that? Well even if you hadn't gone that far, I would have still killed all of you. I am like that. I'm just cruel." I nonchalantly said before turning my expression to a terrifying and angry one, "But don't for a moment try to say that you are innocent. You are not. Not when you poisoned my mother."
He shivered at my gaze and at my words, he knew what I was talking about. How could he not? The poison drug was delivered by him. One of the spies had his insignia in his belongings. "Had it just been me, at most, you would have lost your life but now, I will take everything you have built so far. It won't end with your death. Your successor will suffer after you. The consequences of your actions."
He stared at me for some time but then he smiled and said, "Very well. Now that everything is out, there is nothing I can do to deny it. Just help me understand one thing. How are you going to do that when you are going to die here?"
He sure is proud of himself, isn't he? "What do you mean how? Don't you feel it? Your senses are dulling with each passing moment." He seemed to have realized what was happening to him and shouted, "You coward."
"Says the guy who poison and drugged an innocent woman." I rebutted in return. He scoffed at me though. "Innocent. There is nothing innocent about that vile woman. She is nothing more than a bandit. This land, this territory was ruled by us. My ancestors worked hard for it, yet she just came and took everything. She is the monster here." He shouted in a loud voice.
So, the story is that the Galpins had control of this whole territory and they held the title of a Count. But because they hadn't contributed to the kingdom in a hundred years, their territory was taken by the king and was given to Carla who was contributing a lot to the Kingdom. The Galpins were demoted to Viscount, and they became a vassal of Carla.
"Do I look like I give a shit?" I asked while looking uninterested. I really wasn't. I was just buying time, so it was great that he talked more but since I had already told him about the drug, he won't waste any more time on that.
Hmmm… What is that? "Will you really harm my family after me?" He asked while looking at me. There was no expression on his face. This worried me. Also, he was moving his mana. No, he was condensing it.
"Yes." I won't. But he needs to die knowing that. He needs to suffer even there.
"Hahaha… You sure are cruel." What is he doing? Is he going to attack me after condensing mana? No there is no use. His sight must have already become unstable along with his hearing. Attacking me would not be the correct decision. No, he is making a core. But why? Humans don't need a core to circulate mana, only monsters do.
"But like I said, how are you going to that if you die here?" What is this punk saying?

Crap. He is going down that route. I knew what happens when a core becomes unstable. The same thing happens with Ki but since mana is more volatile, the explosion would be larger.
I immediately turned and started running away from him. He seemed to have understood my motive when he said loudly while laughing, "It's no use, Michael von Revstein. You are going to die here. Along with m------"

Boom. A large explosion was heard inside the forest near Nyan city. The explosion's origin point was close to the dungeon and the flames of the explosion were still spreading. A boy was running away from the explosion with great speed.
Michael was running fast while expending every effort he could to get away from the blast radius. But unfortunately, he couldn't get away from the blast and was caught up in it. As soon as the force of the blast hit him, he fainted so he didn't see the messages that appeared in the system.

1st person Pov:
Shi*t! My head hurts. I woke up with a stinging pain in my head and looked at my surroundings. But I still couldn't see properly because of my headache. I closed my eyes to bear with the pain and after some time, the pain started dissipating gradually.
When my headache lessened, I again opened my eyes and look around me. I was puzzled at where I was as all I could see was white. The ground beneath me, the sky, and everything around me were all white.
I warily looked around but even after some time, I found nothing. Is it an illusion? I started channeling mana but to my horror, I couldn't feel any. I immediately checked the system but again I was horrified to know that it was not there.
"System."
"System."
But no matter how many times or how loudly I said it, I still didn't get any response. I wonder if it is the afterlife. But does it hurt after death? Hmmm… I don't know.
Since there was no use shouting system, again and again, I simply started walking north in my direction. It's not like I had any other choice or some hint of my situation.
=====
I don't know how long I have walked. Five days. Maybe six. I can't tell. There is no indication of time in this place. Strangely my body wasn't tired. But my mind was so I stopped walking and sat down on the floor. I wonder what happened after Galpin self-destructed. I remember getting caught in the explosion, but after that, I have no recollection of anything.
While I was mulling over things, I felt something. It was the presence of the system. I thought it returned so I shouted its name, but nothing happened. But I could still feel its presence though. From behind me. I turned to look behind me, but I found myself looking at something else, not the system.
It was a building. A type of structure I had never seen before. Is it glass? How can such a structure exist? A building made from glass. Is the system in there?
I started moving in the direction of the structure that suddenly appeared out of nowhere. I didn't know why, but it was calling me. I felt something familiar from it. Like the system. Is the system in there?

What? Contact with the world? Whoa… I shook my head as a sudden wave of dizziness assaulted me. I started losing consciousness. I didn't resist it though. I had no control over this strange place. Better not resist whatever was happening.
"Wise Choice Michael."
