3rd person Pov:
Everyone was in a hurry. The adventurer guilds hall was packed with adventurers. The Nyan city branch was busy attending to them, and they were having a hard time. The reasons were a lot. Tomorrow was the expected dungeon break. They had issued requests to adventurers, but so far only silver card adventurers had shown up. They couldn't assent any higher-ranked adventurers because the rewards were not lucrative enough. No doubt that the city lord was being stingy but the rewards from the dungeon weren't amazing as well.
It was a dungeon of fishmen. Now normally fishmen leave many resources when they are killed but the problem here was that they were low-ranked fishmen called mermen. They don't leave many resources behind. They are strong and come in high numbers. Even though normal monsters were just E to D rank, many B-rank awakeners have lost their lives to them. It was a high-risk low reward dungeon. Just like an undead dungeon. No one was willing to risk their lives just for this.
The guild was able to amass these bronze and silver adventurers because they were promised half of everything from this dungeon break. Even the Guild had offered rewards from itself, these rewards were tempting for gold-ranked adventurers, but they still didn't show up. What good were the rewards if death was a probable outcome? But to these low-ranked adventurers, it was still enough for them to risk their lives for these rewards.
"The gold-ranked adventurers still haven't replied to our communique. If we don't get any high-ranked adventurers, we will lose half of the people gathered here. And no doubt that half of the city will be destroyed." A guild executive gave his analysis report to the guild manager. The situation was worse. The guild had requested guild-affiliated adventurers for this break, but it would take time for them to arrive. Until then, the damage would have been done.
"Those bastards. Time. What time? Warp gates were made to save time. They are giving unreasonable excuses." The guild manager cursed with his head buried in his arms. The situation was very dire. If something is not done, then Nyan city was done for. Viscount Galpin had refused to ask for help from the Revstein family. Or to be correct from his lord, Count Carla. The reason was known to everyone but if he doesn't bow his head now, everything would be destroyed anyway.
"For now, try to convince any adventurer that comes here. Try to convince harder if it is a high-ranked adventurer. Even if you have to open our treasury." The guild manager said to his subordinate who nodded and bowed his head to leave. He was about to leave when a knock was heard on the door. The executive opened the door and saw a receptionist standing with sweat dripping down her forehead.
"I apologize to bother Chief with this, but you need to see this." She said in a hurry with heightened breath. The executive found her behavior weird. What had happened for her to act like this? "Calm down and tell me clearly. What happened?" The receptionist caught her breath on his words and after a few deep breaths she said, "A gold and Diamond ranked adventurers have asked to participate in the dungeon break of tomorrow."
The executive and the manager thought they had heard something wrong. The gold adventurer part wasn't weird, but a diamond-ranked adventurer. "Are you not mistaken? Did you check their cards properly?" The manager asked the receptionist, but she only frantically nodded her head and said, "Yes. it really is a diamond-ranked adventurer."

"Hello. I am Coro Leva Elle, and this is my disciple Roy Ashen." Cynthia greeted the guild in charge and introduced herself and Michael. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Coro and Sir Roy. I am Juliet Core, and I am the manager of this branch."
Cynthia nodded to him and said, "Mr. Core, we request to participate in tomorrow's dungeon break. We are not asking for any rewards and any items or ingredients in return." Juliet was elated to hear what Cynthia said but before he could become overly excited, Cynthia added, "This is an opportunity for my disciple to experience a dungeon break so I won't be actively participating. Only he will be. I will only guard the city. If any deaths and damages happen outside of the city radius, I will not intervene."
Cynthia had poured cold water over Juliet's expectations, but he was not disappointed in the least. Why would he be? An S-rank will be guarding the city without asking for anything in return. This was a bargain. No, it was a bonus freebie. No reason for him to refuse. It was still a brilliant deal.
"I understand. It is beneath Miss Coro to hunt some mere mermen anyway. And the terms that you have placed are more like a bargain for me. I would be extremely thankful if you protect this city." He bowed his head and spoke. "And will your Disciple be joining in the main force, or will he also be guarding the city?" He said while looking at Michael who hadn't said a word since they had come in.
The boy looked no more than ten and with his mask on, the only clue about his age was his height and build. He was surprised to find that this small boy was a gold-ranked adventurer. He wasn't worried about them faking their ranks because the guild would never make such a mistake. And not to mention he could feel danger from the boy more than he felt from Cynthia.
Cynthia nodded to his question and said, "About that, I request for you to put him on the front lines. This will be a good experience for him. Possibly the main team." The deal for Juliet had just gotten better. He could not help but thank his lucky stars right now. "Of course. If you like, I can place him in the team led by the Viscount himself. Only if you are content with this. I would like to inform you that the viscount is aiming for the dungeon boss. Even though it is just a C-rank monster, its characteristics make it more dangerous than a high-level B-ranked monster."
He was worried that if he placed him in the team on the front lines, there would be a danger to the boy. If something were to happen to the boy, dealing with an S-rank was much more difficult or impossible compared to a dungeon break of Mermen.
Cynthia turned to look at Michael whose face was still covered in a mask and after contemplating a bit she said, "Of course, that would be more in our favor. This is the last month of his training. Before he enters the academy, I want him to face dangerous enemies to increase his experience. Please place him in the Main team that will be dealing with the boss monster."
Juliet was visibly relieved with her reply and said, "Well then, I am thankful to you for helping us. Please rest today as the break is tomorrow and please, stay in our provided quarters. I can't let the adventurers of your rank stay in an Inn." Cynthia only replied to his offer with thanks, and we started to follow a receptionist to our accommodations.
