1st Person Pov:
Man, yesterday was a hectic day. So many things happened in one day. From the recognition of the enemies and possible allies to the incident with Yven. And then the embarrassing acting after that. Even after the event, I had to keep up my act well into the night. The only good thing about that was that Carla glued me to her chest. The bad thing was that Joseph was also there. Though when I acted to be scared of him, he left with a devastated expression after some time.
Before leaving, that brat Sierra also said, "I don't know what you did but whatever it was, I'm not happy with you. But you did it for a good cause so I will forgive you." I don't know what that was about but I could somewhat guess. Maybe she was also terrified and that hurt her pride or something.
And then there was that girl, Sylvia. She did not leave. Turns out, her family has served the Revsteins family for generations. Same with her father and her mother. Her father is a cripple, so he is now a military strategist along with Sylvia's mother, Mera, who is a soldier there. They both serve under my uncle, Derek. So now she has to stay here and train along with me after her awakening ceremony which is next week.
Speaking of the awakening ceremony, mine is today. It was supposed to be two days later, but for some reason, Noah insisted for it be held today, so I am now heading in that direction along with Carla.
"What is an Awakening ceremony, Mother?" while heading in the direction of the awakening hall, I asked Carla. Carla looked at me and smiled. Ahhh that smile. And then she said, "In this ceremony, you will awaken mana that has been dormant inside of your vessels. It will be like providing a push to that dormant mana to start circulating." Her explanation was on the spot but that was not what I needed to know. What I needed to know was, "Are there instances where one has failed to awaken mana?"
My question somewhat surprised Carla as seen from her expression, but she answered anyway, "Well, everyone has mana. There are types of mana. Mana for magicians is in large quantity, and mana for swordsmen or warriors is in lesser quantity but they can use it to incorporate it into their weapons to use it. There are some special cases in which a person can awaken a little of both and cast spells from their weapons. Those spells are not on the same level as magicians, but they can still do damage depending on how used. Your father is one such case."
And after explaining all of this in one breadth, she continued after some time with a complicated expression, "And there have been cases where one cannot use mana at all. It just means that they are blessed with mana and have to live the rest of their lives ordinarily. We call them unawakened people. And they are not favored by the people of this world. So not awakening mana is a great misfortune."
This is bad. In the morning before Carla came to wake up, I had asked the system if my Awakening ceremony could be manipulated. It said that by using the skill 'Mana conceal', I can completely hide my mana signatures from anyone or anything. So, I decided to do that and declare myself as someone who has no mana. But if I do that, it will be more of a headache. A public outcast. It's not that I had not considered such a possibility, but I did not know it would be to this extent. Not a public but a social outcast. Should I go with the plan from before or come up with the new one?
"Hello. You must be Michael. It is a pleasure to meet you. I am Priest Jacob from the Astral Church." While I was thinking about my damned future, this weird person suddenly started talking to me. he looks creepy. The astral church though. Why are they here? "Hello. Nice to meet you. Speechless. What are those attributes? The first one seems good but the second one destroys that. The third one seems good but the fourth one destroys it again. I don't know if I should call him a hypocrite or true to himself. And what is with his inner thoughts? Is he really a priest? Anyway, I will also get this over with as soon as possible.
