Michael was being carried by Carla to somewhere he didn't know. Michael was curious about it but didn't pay it much heed because he had his undivided attention to relishing the heavenly sensations of breasts pressed in his face. He would have loved it more if there hadn't been two layers of clothes in the way, but beggars can't be choosers. He had learned to control his greed at a young age. Michael was brought to a room full of people Michael had come to recognize very well in this one year. He didn't know too much about them, but he understood his relations to them and that was enough for him now.
The room in which Carla entered while holding Michael was very well decorated. There were balloons on the wall and sprawled in the room everywhere. He could see that everyone was gathered around the dining table but could not understand what for. There was cake on the table, which he was curiously eyeing as he hadn't seen anything like it before. An observing look on the face of the one-year-old child only made him look more charming. Everyone had only one thought come to their mind, 'So cute.'
'Hmmm... looking at the environment set up in the room they seem to be celebrating something. But they are looking at me so it must be a celebration for me. But what could be the reason they are celebrating?' Michael was unfamiliar with the concept of a birthday celebration, so it took him some time to figure it out. 'The only thing I can think of is me turning one year old. Is this the cause of their celebration? Seems like it. What a strange world to have such cultures. Well, I should not compare everything about this world to Kunlun. Even in Kunlun, different sects and families have their own traditions and cultures. Different worlds having different cultures is not that surprising. Oh, what is that thing on the table with candles on top of it? That's also something I am seeing for the first time. I wonder what it is?'. While Michael was thinking that Carla brought him closer to the cake and settled him down on the head chair near the cake. There were pillows on the head chair to increase his height. Carla didn't need to hold him as he could balance himself, so she let him go and went to stand beside her husband and everyone else.
"Hmmm… what's the problem honey? Are you not feeling well? Your face is red." Joseph pointed out Carla's redness which made her remember the embarrassing moment from before and that only caused her face to redden even more. It made Joseph worried, but Carla's reply steeled him a bit "I'm fine, it's nothing". That was the only reply she had as she could not tell anyone about her embarrassing moment to anyone or everyone would make her out to be a pervert who gets turned on by breastfeeding her own child. She calmed herself and didn't think about it much. Joseph also didn't think too much about it and turned his attention to main the main event.
At this time everyone in unison wished Michael a Happy birthday and Michael, having somewhat understood that they are congratulating him for something, also smiled. Then everyone, one by one, started wishing him Happy birthday from eldest to youngest.
"Happy birthday Michael.", said Noah to Michael to which Michael smiled.
"Happy birthday Michael.", said a man in his mid to late thirties to Michael. Michael recognized him as the eldest brother of his father. He had features similar to his father just seemed a little older than him. Michael also smiled at his greeting.
"Happy birthday Michael.", next was a beautiful woman in her early to mid-thirties. She was his eldest aunt and the wife of the man before her. She was black-haired and had blue eyes. She was a beauty just below his mother. Michael laughed a little loudly at her greeting which urged the woman to kiss him on his cheek which was his goal exactly.
"Happy birthday Michael.", next came another woman who was also in her early to mid-thirties. She was his second aunt. He had never seen his second uncle ever since he was born. So, either he was somewhere away, or he was no longer in this world. Michael didn't know. She had black hair with deep golden eyes just like her mother. His biased opinion still placed her one step below her mother in terms of beauty. Michael laughed at her greeting too which earned him another kiss from the beautiful woman.
"Happy birthday Michael.", to this greeting, Michael showed no expression whatsoever. It was his father or better known as the "lucky bastard". His lack of response was a big blow to Joseph which caused him to be downcast. He looked at Michael again expectedly. Michael seeing that he won't leave unless he did something, smiled a little at him. This caused Joseph to beam in smiles and he also kissed Michael which brought an annoyed expression on his face, but he soon concealed it as a baby was not supposed to have such an expression.
"Happy birthday my darling". Now was his mother's turn. Michael not only laughed but also jumped up and down. Carla smiled and hugged him and kissed his both cheeks which made him happy even more. This made his annoyance from before melt away and he cherished every bit of this moment.
"Happy birthday Michael". Next was a boy of about 11 years old. Michael had seen him only once before, a few days after his birth. He had not seen him since so it could mean that he was away from home. He was the son of his eldest uncle. Michael smiled in turn to his greeting.
"Happy birthday Michael". Next was a young energetic girl Michael knew very well. It was his second cousin and the daughter of the missing second uncle. She played with him in her spare time every day, so Michael knew her very well and to her greeting, he showed a very positive reaction which earned him another kiss. Granted she was not as beautiful as the other three women before her, but she was on the track to becoming one. It wouldn't hurt to earn attention from a girl whose future was bright. Michael was certain because everyone in this family was blessed with beauty anyway.
Michael didn't know any of the names of the family members. He could pronounce some, but he hadn't seen them written in any book, so he didn't know which characters were used to make up their names. He pushed this problem at the back of his head as this wasn't an urgent problem for now.
The process of greeting came to end from the family members but not for Michael. Another one came. This greeting, however, was also only visible to him.
