Bai Ling's eyes reddened as she looked at Zhizhi, who was bouncing around. She said softly, "If my little sister was still alive, she would be this old."
Han Li understood. She patted Bai Ling's hand gently and said, "We'll leave Zhizhi to you from now on."
Bai Ling nodded her head solemnly.
Han Li brought Zhizhi to visit everyone in the main house. Zhizhi sighed. "Mommy, our house is so big. If Zhizhi were to walk alone, I would get lost."
She looked at Han Li with a bitter expression.
Han Li laughed. "We'll walk around once every day, and we'll slowly get familiar with it. Mommy will accompany you, sister Bai Ling can also accompany you, and so will our brothers. We won't let Zhizhi get lost."
Upstairs, Gu Zhen looked at the mother and daughter who were walking hand in hand downstairs with a look of disdain.
"She's just a country bumpkin. I really don't understand if Aunt is blind. Why does she like such a brat? she's not compatible with this super-rich family at all!"
Gu Zhen suppressed the anger in her heart and looked away from Gu Zhi. She changed her clothes and went to the Old Madam's room.
Gu Zhen could tell who was the most important person in this family. If she wanted to stay in the main residence, she had to get past the Old Madam. If she could not get the Old Madam's approval, then everything would be out of the question.
After Zhizhi had enough fun, Han Li helped her wash her face and change her clothes. Then, he went to the kitchen to show off her skills.
The servants in the kitchen were all curious about the young lady's intention to cook. They thought that she was just playing with the child and putting on an act. They did not expect this Young Miss to be serious.
Bai Ling had prepared a small apron for her, so Zhizhi rolled up her sleeves and started working. Today, she was going to make a vegetable meatball, a stir-fried bean sprout, and a tofu and bamboo shoot soup.
Bai Ling got someone to prepare a shorter cooking table for her and showed her the prepared ingredients one by one. She thanked her politely, "I don't need any help. You guys just do what you need to do. I'm just taking up a little space. Sorry."
Everyone was stunned by her politeness.
She recalled how Miss Gu Zhen had ordered everyone to stop what they were doing and quickly make her a bowl of bird's nest. She wanted to wait for Old Madam to wake up from her afternoon nap and serve it to her. She had ordered all the servants in the kitchen around and even blamed them for not doing their job well.
In comparison, Miss Zhizhi was like a little angel.
Han Li smiled and said to everyone, "You guys go do what you need to do. Don't delay your work. I'll stay here with Zhizhi."
The servants even walked briskly, and from time to time, they would secretly glance at the Young Miss who was doing her work in a proper manner.
Han Li stood close to her daughter and did not help. She did not really want to test Zhizhi, but she did not know where to start. She knew nothing about cooking.
Zhizhi cut the vegetables into small pieces. Han Li reminded her, "Be careful of the knife. Do you want someone to help you cut it?"
Zhizhi's eyes curved into crescents as she smiled. "Mommy, Do you not know how to cook?"
Han Li nodded graciously. "Yes! Mommy has never cooked before, but our Zhizhi is really amazing!"
Zhizhi was a little smug. "Sister said that talent is also important in cooking. No matter how smart a person is, they won't be able to learn how to cook without talent."
Han Li felt that it was very reasonable.
Zhizhi said while cutting the cabbage, "We're using cabbage to make meatballs today. I asked Big Sister Bai Ling and Grandma Zhao, and they said that everyone in the family eats cabbage."
Han Li was a little surprised. "Why are you asking?"
Zhizhi was also a little surprised. "You have to consider the taste of the person who's eating!"
Han Li came to a sudden realization and gave a thumbs up to Zhizhi. "Zhizhi is so awesome!"
Zhizhi thought that her mother was a little silly, but she was very cute. After thinking for a while, she explained to her mother as she cooked. "You have to put this chopped vegetable into the well-made flour paste, then add the seasoning, and heat up the pot. Then, we can fry the meatballs."
Zhizhi skillfully lit the fire and poured the oil. Han Li was frightened. "Zhizhi, let's find a cook to fry it. Can you command from the side?"
"Why?" Zhizhi asked, confused. "It's more meaningful if I cook it myself. I'm the one who's going to cook for everyone!"
Han Li had no choice but to admit it. "Mommy thinks it's a little dangerous."
Zhizhi chuckled. "What's so dangerous about that? Mommy, look, meatballs are dancing in the hot oil, and then their color will change. Don't be afraid, just stand behind me, I'll protect you!"
Han Li could not help but feel a mix of emotions.
