Noon the next day a luxurious carriage could be seen making its way towards the castle that stood tall and towered above the capital city.
The carriage had a dragon embroidery on the two sides of the carriage doors easily catching the attention of the commoners.
Of course, unlike the sun clan or the moon clan, the dragon clan wasn't as influential or famous since the death of the former patriarch.
The dragon clan unfortunately, did not have very many achievements under its name since it lost most of its power. The once powerful clan had completely fallen from grace and had become nothing more than a mere decoration for the kingdom since its lost.
Many people gazed at them without hiding their mockery while some openly ignored them, seeing the treatment they were receiving one of the three members of the dragon clan couldn't help but frown.
"Tsk, the ignorance of these common trash." An elderly man dressed in a white suit couldn't help but voice his displeasure. "Damn it! If only we still had that man with us, then..." Another elderly man said in a bitter tone.
The two elders from the dragon clan felt greatly insulted as they kept receiving stares filled with either mockery or contempt from the commoners outside.
The sun clan and moon clan handle most of the works to protect the citizens, because of this many of the commoners considered the dragon clan to be worthless since they no longer protect the kingdom like in the past.
The current patriarch of the dragon clan, and the father of the previous head who is also the grandfather of Alan simply closed his eyes as he folded his arm, completely ignoring all the stares they were receiving.
For him things like this were trivial matters and not worth his time much less his reaction.
Soon roughly thirty minutes later, they arrived before the castle gates. Upon noticing the symbols on the carriage doors, the knights promptly opened the two-sided gates and allow them entry inside the castle grounds.
The carriage continued on its path as it traverses through the beautiful and well-trimmed garden of the castle grounds.
Cole dragon, the owner of short silver colored hair and blue eyes stepped onto the grassy field alongside his two followers from the dragon clan. One was an elderly man in his late forty with black hair wearing a white suit while the other was a man in his early thirty with long black hair.
Once they arrived before the entrance of the castle they were greeted respectfully by the maids and were leaded by them towards the throne room.
The interior of the castle was beautifully made and well decorated with expensive looking furnishers and embroidery placed here and there. The walls had various old paintings and eye-catching artworks from artists all around the world.
After ten minutes of walking the group finally stop before a large wooden door and with a soft knock from the maid leading the group the authoritative voice of someone saying "Come in." Sounded from the other side.
The door was then opened with a soft creaking sound. And soon the interior of the throne room greeted them once they made their way inside.
Once Cole and his group made their way towards the throne, they all bowed their heads and knelt down onto one knee reverently. "Greetings, your majesty." Cole said in a respectful tone. A rather tall and pudgy man sitting on an extravagant looking throne nodded his head with a slight smile on his face. His head was being supported by his hand, and an aura of dominance was being exuded from his body.
The man seemed to be in his fifties with rather short neatly trimmed white hair, dressed in an extravagant looking clothing.
He is the eighth king and its current ruler of the kingdom of Nahinil, King Miles Nahinil. "You may raise your heads." King Miles ordered. "Understood." Cole said calmly, as he and his men slowly raised their heads to look at the king. "Now then I think you can guess the reason why I called you here right, Sir Cole." King Miles asked, glancing at the person in question. "Your majesty wanted to talk about the recent dragon attack?" Cole said humbly.
It wasn't hard for him to guessed with the current state the sun clan was in as well as the moon clan. Originally it was the dragon clan who dealt with the dragon attacks until they lost most of their influence with the death of the last head Luis dragon.
"Correct, with the current state of things, the sun clan alone isn't enough to deal with the dragon attacks as well as the monster attacks. Every day we keep losing important personnel. I'm sure your already aware of the internal issues we are currently dealing with due to that organization, right?" King Miles asked, his sharpen gazed directed towards Cole.
"Yes, I'm aware. That unknown organization has been quite troubling on the mind, that even my precious daughter in law isn't feeling as ease these days." Cole said, shrugging his shoulders.
He had also been investigating that unknown organization that for some reasons currently unknown, took the life of his only son but, even now he currently knew nothing about them. Their goals, their ambitions, their members or even their leaders. All information about this unknown organization is shrouded in mystery.
Cole clenched his fist tightly as he furrowed his brow, anger and frustration could visibly be seen on his face. 'Curse those scums.' He secretly curses.
The two elderly men on either side of him wore uncomfortable expression when sensing the killing intent of Cole.
King Miles also notices his reaction and the change of his usual indifferent expression but, he decided not to comment on the matter it wasn't difficult for him to guess what emotions he must be feeling. "Anyway, I am officially requesting the support of the dragon clan with the current matter regarding the monster attacks and the dragon attacks." He said in a dignified tone.
However, when hearing his request, the two elderly men from the side both frowned deeply, "Ridiculous! You want us to support those scumbags!" The elder on the left shouted.
"That's right let those trash be dragon food!" The elder on the right responded. Both voiced their disagreement on the matter, with contempt apparent in their voice.
... Silence.
The entire room was shrouded with a certain kind of deathly silence that made everyone uncomfortable.
Cole broke out into cold sweats as he heard the complaints of his two followers.
"Y-Your majesty plea-" Before Cole could even finish his plea, a tremendous pressure erupted from the king's body and filled the room, the two elderly men from the dragon clan faces turned so pale that it looks like all the blood had left their faces.
"Insignificant trash! Know your place! If I remember correctly, I was speaking to the patriarch of the dragon clan, not their loyal dogs! Bark only when spoken to." King Miles roared; his expression as cold as ice. "Under normal circumstance I would have ask for both your heads but... I decided to be a little generous today out of consideration for my relationship with Sir Cole." King Miles said.
Slowly the aura that exuded dominance finally receded and the room regained its former tranquility, both the elderly men from the dragon clan heaved a sigh as their life wasn't taken from them. Cole also sighed in relief as he looked at the man sitting haughty on his throne with a somewhat bitter smile.
Cole closes his eyes and couldn't help but reminisces onto the past, King Miles the eighth king, someone who was blessed with both talent and potential, before his abandonment of his former vocation his title 'Sword king' Was known throughout the entire continent. He is also the one who trained Luis in the art of the sword before his assassination.
'Even after so many years this old dog still hasn't lost his former spunk.' Cole thought, he was also a rival of Miles long ago when they use to compete for the title of the 'Strongest warrior.'
"Well then do you agree to my request? Just so you know, if your able to build up your achievements then... I can guarantee that you would once again regain your former position so, what will it be?" He asked, as he fixed his gazed onto Cole. ".... I accept your request, your majesty." Cole replied with a neutral tone. Hearing his words of acceptance Miles smiled amicably. "Pleasure working with you again, old friend." King Miles replied.
...
Back inside the dragon clan...
Alan sat beneath the shaded trees of the garden with his eyes closed in meditation. He had been swinging his sword around for almost three hours and decided to rest his body while gathering spiritual energy to strengthen his physical body, while at the same time sending some of his spiritual energy to his spirit sword.
The soft cool breeze caresses his skin as his slightly long silver hair fluttered by the movements of the strong wind.
Meanwhile, watching him a short distance away were two beautiful girls who seemed to be twin sisters, one had short black hair, while the other had long black hair. They both seemed to be observing him with curious eyes.
Feeling the two curious eyes on him, Alan's brow twitches slightly as he slowly opened his eyes. Revealing two bright green, emerald pupils.
