It had been two months since Aron had been deployed. I wrote to him constantly as a small budge from my stomach began to grow. I had received letters as I sat in the house which he had left. The bed which his own head laid. I could not wait for the day when the war would be over. Prayers had gone for the solider went throughout the church.
Some ladies laughed as I stepped into the church. Most people didn't know I was married. We didn't have time to buy a ring, but his love is with me.
"Harriet". I heard my name being called out within the church. The one friend I had grown close with.
"June" I said with a smile, but she did not have one of her own. The look on her face meant she had some bad news. I did not like that. June was the only person who knew about Aron. She was also the person who would tell me information about him.
June was a nurse. She helped the injured soldiers that they brought back.
"Aron", she said, and his name rang through my ears. The books within my arms fell as I followed June.
Toward Aron. My husband. I silently prayed as tears ran down my face. We stood outside of the hospital that held soldiers.
"Harriet" June said, sounding concerned. I bit my lip as a gut feeling told me something was wrong.
"Let's go" I said, taking a deep breath, following behind my friend. We stood in front of the bed. A machine stood next to his bed, Towards the foot of the bed was a sign.
Aron Johnson
Tears fell down my face as I took the seat right next to the bed. His hand still felt warm.
He was still there. He was still with me. He had to be.
"Aron, my love" I said through my tears. "Please don't"
Tears fell down my face onto his arm.
"Harrie" a raspy voice said as I looked down to see Aron's Almond-colored eyes.
"Please don't" I said through my tears, "don't go. I just got you back"
I couldn't stop the tears as they fell onto his face. He looked into my eyes.
"I'm not" he says as he turns his head to look at my body "Your?"
"Yes" I said with a small smile with tears running down my face.
"I'm sorry" Aron says as he moves his hands, throwing them over his mouth as he coughs.
His arms slowly moved back to where they were as his body slowly slept, losing movement.
"Aron!' I said as a nurse came to him, pushing me out of the way. June pulls me back as I try to find something to help him.
"Aron!!!" I yelled "Please no."
The beeping of the machine goes flat. My knees buckle from under me.
"No!!!!!" I cry out
