Chapter 11 - Letter

She was only told about all these a year and a half ago as she found a suspicious scroll in her room and she read it's content which was very scary and she reported to her the elders and asked if they had enmity with another Kingdom but they refused, she was confused because she never heard about the North, or it's ruthless King, and then she was told about the story, she was also told that that was the second letter sent by the Nothern King to Nursultan, and the first letter was sent when the King started his rule and campaign at the age of Nine but he necer attacked or send any letters after that until about two years ago when she found out, and she deduced that she wouldn't have been told about about all those, had she not seen the letter herself, she even felt a little bit relieved that the king might probably take another while to send another letter so she proposed before he sent another or attacked, they also send him a letter.

Since his Father's dream was to unite, and make everyone secured and cared for in Barakallah, she proposed he hurt no one for the sake of his father dream, and the bond between the Northern Emperor and Nursultan's.

But the king mercilessly killed the messenger and sent the head back to them a reply that mocked her her Father and his dignity, it said.

" It's good you know who's Superior and it feels good to know you are afraid of me but no one tells me what to do".

His reply angered almost everyone but they had to control as they knew and also didn't know who they were dealing with.

Now that they finally got another news from him, she had a bad premonition about it and she felt they will soon be far from their merry and peaceful days.

Meena was in a daze as she walked to the courtroom, anticipating the worst and she grimaced.

She walked towards her Father as she entered the courtroom and kissed his left hand as she greeted " Your Majesty "

And the King smiled and nodded in return and then she turned to the courtiers and greeted them who greeted her in return, she was the only lady in the room.

As expected no one said anything about the Northern king, she thought rolling her eyes inwardly thinking what was the need for her to be the future Queen when they were hellbent on protecting her even from Bad news but unexpectedly, the King silently passed her a scroll, confused, she questioned him silently with her eyes and he ordered. " Read " and she did after which she felt like fainting.

It read " i had this feeling recently, as to why don't we reach an agreement as you proposed, i will think of what and let you know " and Meena felt her blood boil, he was keeping them in suspense.

She looked at her Father, feeling bad as to why someone would treat her Father this way

As expected, she thought, what she dreaded happened but she only knew not to let in anyone on her feelings as it will lead them to regret their choice of leader.

" what do you propose? " the King asked her.

" Everyone here must have heard of this saying, a barking dog seldom bites " she boldly said but only the King and prince Salim had an idea what she was thinking and they chuckled leaving the other courtiers confused.

Salim rose a brow thinking how that barbaric King got on his thoughtful Sister's nerves so much as to make her annoyed, which only one person has succeeded in doing till date.

And then Nurain strolled into the courtroom not sparing anyone a glance.

'Think of the devil, and he shall come' Salim thought with a slight smirk.

" Why don't we just ignore him till he decides to stop playing hide and seek and show up? " Meena suggested and Nurain smirked, amused as he dropped on his seat. " As expected from this princess " he muttered but Salim heard and said " Afterall her way of thinking is as a result of your teachings.

Many agreed on what Meena proposed, afterall, the wicked Emperor left them no choice, what could they do if not wait?.
